I agree. I think most people play a mixture of almost all of the weapons if they're going to stick with the game for a while. My big three are unintentionally big meta weapons (Hammer, LS, HBG) because they're just fun to play, but I also play CB, SA, LBG, and Bow. I REALLY like Gunner in World compared to previous games.

Well to be fair brave style in MHGen U did it first but it wasnt nearly as broken as in MHW or MHR.
Maybe it's just me, but a sheeted blade is easier to carry around, after a battle is done. But to know this, one must have studied the blade, mastering each and every move, our grand masters taught us. To achieve this is a great honor, as it includes but not only bound to: the "Omae wa mou shindeiru" which is a insta kill, but also the "Starburst Stream" which even though it originates from dual wielding, can be used by the longsword. My favorite technique however is the "Bites za dusto", which releases a huge explosion, because Killer Queen already touched that longsword. Myneself art ever so grateful for thou patience and shall beg thou pardon, as I must go cross the blade with my fellow brothers in arm. Farewell, m'lords and m'ladies *tips fedora*
I love this vid, but LS Main for life. Been doing it since MHFU, and I ain't stopping. Just everyone who uses the weapon needs to focus on the monster's tail, wings, and feet to trip it, not your teammates. Let the Hammers, Sticky HBG, HH bros, Lance, and KO SAED CB have the head, unless they aren't able to reach it. I also enjoy the GS, HBG, LBG, and occasionally the HH. I never really enjoyed the SnS, however if I sleep bomb it's either that weapon, DB, or Felyne Hell Cat LBG.
Simple, you can't cut. With the requirement of almost all armor and weapons needing something from a tail, Hammer gets replaced with anything that can cut.

I chose this weapon in the training area when I was trying to find a fun weapon. I was stuck between dual blades and this. I switch between the two from time to time tho :p
Oh if only this had come out after iceborn because now its even more broken thanks to its new moves. Don’t like hitting the monster a bunch of times to fill the spirit gauge? Lai slash and congratulations the game plays itself! And to top it off its special sheath allows you to cancel out of the one move that has “significant” lag and immediately combo into anything else.
I actually chose longsword as my first main, and charge blade as my second. After using longsword, it felt brilliant to use to me, it had simple handling. Granted, it was hard for me to get used to the heavy aspect of weapons, but once i did, charge blade, longsword, hunting horn and hammers felt easier for me to use

I feel like the only true statement there is that the Insect Glaive probably IS more useful in multiplayer, as while mounted it gives your team either a well-needed recovery break (potions, whetstones, etc) or after toppling the monster, now there's FOUR TIMES the amount of resulting beat-down happening at once.
I suppose, but insect glaive isn't just about mounting monsters. it's able to easily do it, but it has other things going for it as well, but I see where you're coming from. pretty sad that when people think of insect glaive, they think it's air moves is the only thing the weapon does...
The fact that whoever made that tier list is stupid enough to believe that the LBG is better than the bow in any facet whatsoever makes me doubt the lengths of human intelligence. And this is from someone who used both to their strongest DPS potential and ended up deciding: "Wow...the LBG really fucking sucks outside of early game when elemental stuff isn't available yet."
The tier list was decided from a popular vote when LBG still had slicing meta, which hardly gives it any credit. The only legitimate tier lists in MH are Time Attack tier lists (which isn't available yet for MHW I think). Even then that tier list only useful for speedrunning.
it's basically a watered down CB, let's be honest here. less guard points, no massive chungus vial smash, can't even transform into a big ass hammer/axe/thing. -swagaxe main, SnS hater.

To clarify, sheathing the sword is actually a practiced method of swordsmanship, mostly the iado style sword martial arts, I know because I grew up in Japan and liked history, it's not something originally from anime, but the reason why MHW did for the long sword was completely because they saw it in animes XD

What's hilarious about this video is that I embraced the Longsword in World and my buddy learned to get gud with the Insect Glaive. But because we were both noobs to Monster Hunter we were always "wowing" each other with what we learned.

I feel like the only true statement there is that the Insect Glaive probably IS more useful in multiplayer, as while mounted it gives your team either a well-needed recovery break (potions, whetstones, etc) or after toppling the monster, now there's FOUR TIMES the amount of resulting beat-down happening at once.
I suppose, but insect glaive isn't just about mounting monsters. it's able to easily do it, but it has other things going for it as well, but I see where you're coming from.
pretty sad that when people think of insect glaive, they think it's air moves is the only thing the weapon does...
The fact that whoever made that tier list is stupid enough to believe that the LBG is better than the bow in any facet whatsoever makes me doubt the lengths of human intelligence. And this is from someone who used both to their strongest DPS potential and ended up deciding: "Wow...the LBG really fucking sucks outside of early game when elemental stuff isn't available yet."

The tier list was decided from a popular vote when LBG still had slicing meta, which hardly gives it any credit.
The only legitimate tier lists in MH are Time Attack tier lists (which isn't available yet for MHW I think). Even then that tier list only useful for speedrunning.

To clarify, sheathing the sword is actually a practiced method of swordsmanship, mostly the iado style sword martial arts, I know because I grew up in Japan and liked history, it's not something originally from anime, but the reason why MHW did for the long sword was completely because they saw it in animes XD

I now want to see a D&D magic Greatsword called "Long Sword" that casts Viscous Mockery at the first creature you hit with it each turn. "Cringe Damage."
The weapon comes in 3 rarities: uncommon, rare, and very rare.
At uncommon, the DC equals 14, and it deals 1D4 Psychic Damage.
At rare, the DC equals 15, and it deals 2D4 Psychic Damage.
At very rare, the DC equals 17, and it deals 3D4 Psychic damage.
What's hilarious about this video is that I embraced the Longsword in World and my buddy learned to get gud with the Insect Glaive. But because we were both noobs to Monster Hunter we were always "wowing" each other with what we learned.
