Thanks for sharing all those cool tear drops. I love the NuCamp products. Colors layouts and over all shapes are amazing. The only thing is definable a lot for something so little. Then again the fit and finish is by far top notch. Probley rolled down in a Jeep or Taco then just backed it up, looking at the site layout. Nice little spaced hidden away. Great concept with the raising roof set up. I remember when we saw our first A-Frame camper at a state park in PA. I was like what is that? So cool. Looking forward to the next videos. I like how you said Yankees 🤣 Mark (& Teresa)
LOL… nothing like traveling to be reminded you’re a yankee… The strange part about it’s placement, and I didn’t have a drone or anything to capture it, was that it would have been a VERY rough ride in. I have a jeep and a taco, the Bushwhacker is ¼ the size with 2x the ground clearance and I would not have drove that path in. Either someone was reckless or I missed some path into the site. I’m still scratching my head…. Thanks for watching!
I've researched those Alto's in the past, and while they are outstanding teardrops they come with an over-the-top price. The smallest model starts at about $40,000 U.S., and that's before you add any options.
Its not over-the-top when you consider that you can pull it without buying a new TV. My Odyssey pulls ours, and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Less expensive that a less expensive tear drop plus more expensive Tow Vehicle. Cannot say enough good things about this Safari Condo (not Congo).
@@cedarforest4621 lol… I was waiting for someone to call me on that… I put the proper text over the slip…😂 How long have you had yours? Seems like owners give them great reviews.
@@DIYOutdoorLife 4 years. It's about 1750 lbs dry, and I can pull it with my Odyssey. It's fabulous and we camp 4 season a year in the PNW. Clearly designed by an engineer who thought of almost everything. Plus a lot of the people that own Alto's are also engineers, so they post GREAT upgrades, that many of us have done, and sometimes those upgrades make it into Safari Condo's new editions. My only regret was not buying one earlier. Also they must be pretty popular as SF expanded their production and still a new rig is AT LEAST a 2 year wait.
@@cedarforest4621 This is really nice to hear. Gotta love products done right! Happy to have stumbled on this one, I had only seen photos of them prior to this.
Wow! I wonder if you could find the owner some how and tour this teardrop. By the way....😊😊keep it up, great video. Unusual place the Alto is positioned.
Lol… I'm glad you found it! The owner never reached out . After being prodded by some concerned citizens, I reached out with the license plate number to the local police department. It is currently registered and not reported stolen... I still think it's aliens
I can see the Alto has a caravan mover attached to the wheel. It's a motor designed to help park the trailer just where/how you want it. But it's not designed to move the trailer any real distances.
If you’re in NM, then I think I know which trailer you hinted at! Looks like they now have a lower cost model than when I first looked. Looking forward to the review!
There seems to be some sort of structure at the top of the hill during one of your first camera pans. Perhaps there's a connection with that building and the teardrop. Unless my eyes are deceiving me.
you're right, but there is no road or pass to connect. I was wondering if they had a roundabout way in because they could definitely see the camper from that house.
I would suspect in the location it’s in that it’s 1) stolen or ‘reported’ stolen. 2) Being hidden to avoid finishing paying it off or having it repossessed. 3) The owner got sick and hasn’t been able to return to it. Not sure if you mentioned what the last licensing dates are on the plates.? I recommend that you get the plate number and preferably find the VIN number (the plates could be from any other vehicle if it was stolen) and report it to the authorities OR if you want to save the owners/their family a headache, you can reach out them directly if you can find out who owns it. If you call Safari Condo, maybe their financial department, they may be able to help you, especially if there is a lien against it. For all you know it could be murderer on the run, so be careful and don’t be there alone. If you report finding* it to the police and they are unable to find or locate the owner, often you can apply for possession.
@@Cruzinsusan5101 If they are trying to defraud the insurance company then they would want it to be identified. Sometimes people do this to avoid months of payments and delay, thinking they will be able to catch up or fix their money problems. Too many people live beyond their means and get more behind, then they get desperate.
Dude… I’m sure that someone parked it there, left for whatever reason, and could never figure out where they left it. It came back to a different spot where they “thought” they left it, and assumed it was stolen.. You shoulda got coordinates and the vin number and plate number and tried to track down the owner. I bet they woulda paid a descent reward for it. Check with police station, and see if it was reported stolen.
@@DIYOutdoorLife that model is the r1713 or 1724, very light camper I pull it with a Subaru. If it was 3000 lbs it would not be able to. The F models do weigh 3000+

the Alto is a very cool trailer, if money was no object.
Right? It’s almost obnoxiously expensive when you see it with features included…
Wish I were home! I live over the Sandias from Albuquerque. I love it there, Plenty of places to explore in NM when we get ours.

Take a guess… I won’t keep it secret…lol
I noticed the ribbon on your sweatshirt. Is that a lime green cancer ribbon? for NHL? Had my last treatment in June 2021. Happy to be in remission. ;)

Is this usable in camping areas that, because of bears, require hard sided campers?
Yes, it still classified as hard sided. The camper I’m reviewing next likely wouldn’t qualify…

Several people left comments or emails along the same lines. I’ll call in with the tag number and let people know how it goes. I still vote aliens… 👽
