One of the things that i love about this game is that the city feels alive cause in every corner you go are happening diferent things with the npcs even in the insides which are integranted with the parkour mechanic. Also when you see the mannifestations is just so inmmersive
Speaking of underappreciated, this video reminds me far more of those made by popular games essayists than ones made by someone with under a thousand subscribers. Pleasantly surprised that the algorithm brought me here.
After playing through Unity and even Syndicate it's really made me realize that we were really damn spoiled with great games, would kill to have Assassin's Greed go back to when it was Assassin's Creed.
amazing video man! I feel like Ubisoft is targeting both sides of the assassin's creed fanbase by creating ac infinity. Putting both rpg and stealth like games on there to please everyone. i adore unity and cannot wait to see if ac mirage follows the more stealth like gameplay
This is one of the most beautiful ax game I played … I get goosebumps from its music and I was so connected with its story line plot . Kudos to Ubisoft to give this game
Bugs aside, I JUST played and finished Unity for the first time and I don't get what all the hate is about. From my experience, I'd say this is the pinnacle of the series. It's ridiculously underrated, not just as an Assassin's Creed game, but in general. I really loved the story, Arno as a character and the backdrop of 18th century Paris. The parkour mechanics added more immersion and fluidity to the gameplay, with optimal level design that takes full advantage of the new mechanics. Also, the combat systems were overhauled in such a way that there was a strategic element of fight-or-flight, where you had to pick your battles (in the beginning anyway) and couldn't just rely on holding down the counter attack button to save your ass. Timed parrying really made the combat feel more involved. The assassination missions, as you said, were more open-ended, allowing for some experimentation and diversity for each approach; kinda like Hitman. And the Murder Mystery side quests were a refreshing addition that helped break up the runny-climb stabby-stab with something more analytical and mentally engaging. What's more is it didn't feel shoehorned in. Being the first game in the series to implement RPG-lite mechanics, it was fairly balanced between the customization and skills (although I found the skill tree to be lacking). It also felt mostly realistic, where previous games didn't add much challenge to the combat and enemies in future installments were too damage-spungy, which takes the piss out of it for me. To me, Unity should be the template from which other AC games are built upon. I'll even call it a masterpiece (Yeah, I said it). Not just as an AC game, but overall. But anyway, awesome video! I agree with your take and showing some love for the underdog of the series!
i didnt think much of unity, mostly because of the bad rep it got, but when you showed those stealth missions, it reminded me of dishonored, and how i love that kind of stealth gameplay. im definitely gonna check it out one of these days.
For me, Unity was the best Assassin's Creed game since Revelations and a return to form for the series. Arno was a great protagonist, he should've had another game like Ezio did
Having played the game myself (so did my sis), I found the stealth to be as optional as Metro, albeit less engaging. The only time stealth was necessary is being from an objective. Even my much less experienced sister abused meleeing with a rifle throughout half of each mission. So one's basically playing a clunky, no skill required hack n' slash game with stealth elements (at least in the main story), presenting the stealth you mentioned as instead a merely unimmersive, optional challenge to RP as a true assassin. The stealth missions themselves are also trivialized by certain gadgets (being bombs and disguises), which yet again can be abstained from as a self-imposed challenge. Excellent stealth indeed. We played on a modern PC with only the typical bugs present in every other AC game ever being present, while the input lag people mentioned was removed. In other words, one has to know to pirat... I mean buy a specific port of Unity for it to be playable. To top it off, the graphics were good for a 2014 game... at least for PC. I enjoyed views here and there. Also the story itself is quite forgettable, yet not AC2 level of bad. The most fun missions were the side missions and the major targets (with the branching options) from the main story, and that's the only genuine (yet temporary) enjoyment we found from the game. And finally, the star of the show: the parkour. It feels like shit if you actually played the game. Sure, some of the animations are cool and flashy, but they sometimes detach, defying the laws of physics and panning Arno towards point B, making the parkour highly janky. The controls were only friendly towards a small percentage of gamers, due to their blockiness and hard to learn, hard to master nature. Not referring to myself here, yet I would still much rather parkour in AC3. Guess it's an ok entry.
Well definitely this game was way ahead of it's time , it's 8 years and i still prefer this game over the new rpg style. The possibilities of assassinations are endless , everytime there could be a unique approach. The Parkour is a drug like addiction in this game , mastering it requires time but it's worth every second. No doubt this is among the best Assassin's creed
Unity is like the biggest part of my childhood man god damn. When you said the game is 8 years old i choked on my drink. To think such a game is under - appreciated. It's sad. HOWEVER, my biggest question here is did they fixed the 5 golden stars armor bug? I remember the moment you touch DLC, you'll never get that 5 golden stars status on your thing (unless you go to your desk as this is a well - known bug)
To be honest, I think it gets a bad rap. I really do I think unity is one of the best assassin's creed games. They ever made of course after they patched it and fixed it. But I've been replying all of the assassin's creed in chronological order. And it has been phenomenal to play those games again. I forgot how fun it was to actually be a stealthy assassin And not an overpowered brute with magical weapons and magical armor.
Honest opinion on assassins creed unity: Map: 10/10 (because you can go in most buildings and its good for parkour) Story: 4/10 (the story is definitely the worst part about the game, there was no surprising plot twists, bellec is dead :(, and I feel like arno just isn't that good as a main character) Controls: 7/10 (the controls weren't that hard to get used to but sometimes arno would just not climb) Combat: 10/10 (the combat is a bit challenging) Graphics: 10/10 (for a 2014 game) Overall rating: 9/10 (was good but story had room for improvement)
honestly this is the only AC game that i did 100% on because i just couldnt stop playing this game. everything about this game just hit the the mark. i am so lucky i didnt have do deal with much or hardly any bugs

Make sure you kill one of those pesky Templars that keep getting in my way while I’m trying to kill Marie Antoinette

Very well made video, the music in the game gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it, it really fits with the game!
Best AC that has ever been released. Probably the game where they near perfected being an assassin.

Just found your channel and I love it, your videos are so well articulated and edited, you deserve more subs!

Awesome video amazing production and I LOVED unity. Honestly it has to be the only game after AC3 that brought be back to the OG AC games
your videos are so good bro damn

Also you should read Oliver Bowden novel if you want an elaborate story
Unity is so underrated man
Black Flag is also a good one tho some people may not count it its still the same objective
Cool video!
this game is a masterpiece.... nothing more to says because you already said it !
Tme anomalies should of stayed and made our animus researcher revelavant introduce a create a character with the bleeding effect wood be so good!

Yep, they never fixed that unfortunately. The moment you install dead kings, you can’t get it.
@@TimePlayerOfficial Thats so sad. Man, they need to bring unity back
beautiful, just beautiful

Dude. If you want a parkour game, you HAVE to play distance. That game is parkouring. But with a car.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve just looked at some gameplay, and it looks interesting. I’ll definitely check it out
@@TimePlayerOfficial Look at the level called ''The other side'' in distance. Hidden level. Very interesting gameplay
I find it all, meh, but still one of my favorite, except for the map
I think origins did the newest type of AC so damn good, why did they make it worse in Odyssey and Valhalla ):
honestly this is the only AC game that i did 100% on because i just couldnt stop playing this game. everything about this game just hit the the mark.
i am so lucky i didnt have do deal with much or hardly any bugs
