DC Electrical Circuit Analysis: Superposition with Current Sources

  • Here, we explore using the superposition analysis technique on a circuit using multiple DC current sources. Remember, superposition can only be used on linear, bilateral networks. The process creates an equivalent circuit for each of the sources, the other sources being replaced with their ideal internal resistance (in the case of a current source, that's an open). The results of each equivalent circuit are then summed together to arrive at the final result, making sure to consider polarities and current directions.
