Amazing truck and Crawl Troy! Element and You have something really special here! It may not have the portal axles, but that just means your gonna pick your lines and tire placement much more carefully. Makes it more of a true “raw” crawling experience at its very best . A true drivers rig if you will. I’ve got to complement you on your back yard course. It’s amazing! Great upload my friend! Have fun with the new Ecto!🤙🏽💯👊🏼
I have the enduro sendaro and I really like it. I put a hobby wing 1080 esc in it and that helped with control a lot. Especially in reverse. Yes you add weight to it and put good tires on it you will be surprised how good it is. And this new narrow chassis with wheels out like that will be even better. Cant wait for more content on this one.
@@RoadsideRC It looked like it actually was going to go up that impossible wall fairly easy I think it could do it it just needs a little bit of help getting over the top
If you ever make it to Scale Haven you’ve got to bring this bad boy, I want one so bad but no local hobby shop makes choices difficult, gotta get my hands on one !
I went from an OG scx10 Honcho to a Trailrunner. I was really impressed, the biggest issue with Element imo seems to be the smaller tires, once I added hyraxes to my rig it became a completely different truck.
I can't keep up with what they put on the trucks, putting in the 11.8% overdrive really helps as well. Try to be really careful when pulling the screws put of the nylon gear they can be really stiff to get out. They are also a pain to get back in as well.
You're welcome, don't be shocked if they are 1.5mm instead of the 2.0mm the Manuel says should be there. That's what happened with mine and then it took me 90min to destroy the gear to get it out. Needless to say I wouldn't be worried about stripping a gear in the transmission.
Charl south Africa thank you for video and review, i finally made up my mind ,wanted to go axial way but no seport in south Africa, Defnetley going to go Element endero rc
Troy, if it’s Christmas I didn’t get anything?! 😂 I really never went rock crawling. If I had friends into it ide give it a try?! But I’ve been destroying my fast rc’s so maybe it’s time? Looks really cool! 👍
Looks just like but gatekeeper but probably performs a little bit better because of the light body vs the heavier cage and body panels of the gatekeeper. Really like my gatekeeper, one of my favorites.
@@RoadsideRC I flipped the transmission. And everything else bolted on and move the front upper link to the other side of frame in I used axles from scx10 iii I had to make. A mount for steering on the knuckle. Move the mount out about a quarter inch and used the. Pan hard bar from the scx10 iii
Hi, great vid. Would it be too much of an problem, to measure the plain body od Ecto as well as the width of the body, door to door width. Im quite interested in could i fit Ecto body in Element Enduro. I think i must hack n cut some to fit the Enduros own rear shocks, though. Thank you.
Great video! I think with some softer tires, it would do better on this course. They seems pretty hard. It may just be how the camera shows it tho. Portals would also be cool. Give the IFS a try! I think it would be a cool video! But besides all that, It’s a really cool truck! I think I would take this over the new axial, but either way, I would be happy if I got any of them
Thanks! Tires are already on order - I agree, it will be interesting to see how much improvement it makes. Agree 100% vs the Axial. Heck, with the $200 you save purchasing this, there is a LOT of mods you can do!
Independent front suspension not good at all for crawling, hangs to low. Overall loving your crawling track, having a little bit of everything. Really cool
How would that truck do for a younger user? (9yo?) My middle kid is wanting me to get him a crawler. And YES do the Independent front! Compare it to a portal and standard front axles!
I don't have enough experience yet in how durable this truck would be, however my kids started driving RCs when they were around 5 - so I think a 9-year old should be able to handle it very easily. My go-to for a durable crawler has been the Traxxas TRX4 Sport. That things gets really abused and just keeps coming back for more.
Awesome unboxing first one I've seen I stay away from the ifs if you're into hardcore crawling seems to be a big negative in The Crawling community But ultimately it's up to you having fun is having fun
The stock tires surprised me with how well they are - that said, there are better out there. I have a set of ProLine Trencher crawlers on their way already. That is rather standard for RTR truck though. I need more time with the truck to compare durability vs others that I have. It is hard for me to still not give the nod to the Redcat Gen8 or TRX4 Sport as they are cheaper, and come with the portal axles.
@@RoadsideRC I just bought a set of the tires (kinda hard to get) and they look and feel really good. I definitely love my gen 8. Especially my axe edition. I tell people it will hang with some of the best and they laugh but in all honesty it will.
I use the Hobbywing XR10 esc (amzn.to/2V5kVrU) and the Hobbywing 10.5T motor (amzn.to/3ldfdiq). Depending on how serious you are with drifting though, you can get away with a much cheaper ESC. Here is a comparison I did: ruclips.net/video/LPVY8W74l5c/видео.html
With a straight axle the upward force on one side creates downward force onto the opposite side. With ifs the spring weight is all the force that you get
@@RoadsideRC umm… yes. I ordered an ecto body kit, I’m going to cut those skirts off and put it on my Gspeed. If it still looks funny, ill give it away. Lol.
Yellow on black looks great. Definitely yes on independent suspension trial.
Thanks! I'm curious about the IFS also.
Great review - I have mine coming in next week and we’ll throw some Canadian terrain at her. Super stoked!

I really like this truck. Now, it has a few modifications on it (just a few actually) and it performs GREAT.
Me likey! It’s on my list - now to start the new job to pay for this new hobby!!
Ha! Yes, that is a thing!
This truck is well engineered, I like the low center of gravity which still has good ground clearance
Really cool course! I like the Ecto too.
Thanks!
The Ecto is really doing well for me so far!
I really like the looks of this rig! I have a Trailwalker for class 1 that performs excellent.
Awesome! Glad to hear it!
Great video, thanks for taking the time to make it for us. God bless sir.
You are very welcome!!
Nice truck my rc friend, great course, great video my rc friend 👍💪🆒️
Pretty decent crawler right outta the box. Great video Troy.

Pretty good features. Quite impressed that it has a 550 size motor.
It really is a nice truck for sure!
That is a very nice truck . It's already set up like most people would use for a competition truck.

I’m thinking a decent chassis for a highly modified rc4wd blazer body made into a rock truggy.

Take a look at some wrangler vs fj videos. Solid axle makes a pretty big difference in the 1:1 world.
Think I want/need one!

much rather have this than the new axial ...good choice brother 😎

Happy to meet up sometime!
Stay in touch with the local Facebook groups. I frequently head out to Big Buddhas RC Ranch and RC Field Days.
Are the sway bars necessary and can they be taken off?
The sway bars can easily be removed.
With the trailing arm suspension, it will allow A LOT of flex and instability in the truck.
cool vid
Thank you!

Ciao! Scusami, io ho acquistato uno uguale. Non ho capito perché i cavi del motore sono invertiti!?!
È perché la trasmissione è invertita. Non crea problemi.
@@RoadsideRC ho capito. Perfetto! Grazie infinite. Mi ero preoccupato. Buona giornata e complimenti per i tuoi video!!!
Dont do the ifs on this truck unless u are doing a prerunner style build. Solid axles are for rock crawlers
What detriment does the IFS have for crawling?
You lose a lot of traction
Less articulation...which isnt detrimental but traction is sacrificed greatly
With a straight axle the upward force on one side creates downward force onto the opposite side. With ifs the spring weight is all the force that you get
And we've yet to discuss the major loss of clearance from the lower slung suspension that an ifs unit has.
👍🏼 🇨🇵
Thanks!
just say NO to Ifs
I would love to hear more on why? I'm curious what are the pros and cons to it.
@@RoadsideRC great scale looks, doesn't work well, people will argue but not being used in comp trucks, parts break
Someone needs to cut those rear wheel wells out, its so ugly in the back. I did see the body is available separately, i may have to get one.
