I have one, its great. It definitely comes in handy if I need to use my soldering iron and need a 12-24v power source. It also handles my 6000mah 6s lipos without any hassle.
What would you recommend for a lower cost? So far I only have USB charger batteries for my 24 scale crawlers and my HBX basher. But I have a Ascent Fusion on the way and need something to charge it.
The Gens Ace Imars III Pro works nicely for me. It was just under $50 and does most everything you need. I was using a Dynamite prophet mini before that which was cheap but it failed on some of my batteries so I abandoned it for the gens ace.
Honestly, this is just about as cheap as it gets for a dual charger. If you want to go to a single, then there are a lot more options. A good quality charger is worth A LOT in this hobby. Especially when you consider safety concerns and the fact that you will keep this for YEARS.
Luv Hota chargers, the D6 is a good charger at a good price. I use the later Hota S6 charger, its even more powerfull with ac 325w x 2 (650w) & dc 200w x 2 (400w). Same size footprint as the D6 but a bit taller. The S6 dosn't have the cordless phone charger though.
Personally didn’t like the HoTa D6 pro, returned it after trying it for 2 weeks or so. First impressions were good but quickly didn’t like it. This was a while ago so maybe they’ve fixed some issues with firmware changes. I didn’t like that: it would say it was complete and then continue charging/discharging It didn’t do well with slow charging. (Small batteries) It never seemed to fully charge/discharge the batteries If I remember correctly the button noises are also tied to the charging complete sound, so if you turn off the scroll wheel noise it turns off the charging complete noise.

Ahhh! I hadn't even thought about using it as a power source for my portable soldering iron! Smart!

Tamiya connectors are the default at our home. Most things are converted to it. I'm old school. Not useless.
Sorry to call you useless.
You should try something like an XT60 - they really are GREAT!

Thanks! I didn't see the S6. Sounds nice!

Those are some good insights. Thanks for sharing.
I noticed the first one. It beeps when basically "close to done".
15 amps on a 3 cell using a small AC charger is pretty sweet.
I agree! I didn't actually expect it would do it. :)
Can you turn the beeps off?
Yes
Yes sir!
