Hey Joe. If you reduce your screen resolution before recording then it's a lot easier for people to read the code. I'm guessing you're on a 4K screen, because I'm on a 1920*1080 screen and I can only just read your code. If I was on anything smaller (like the 1024*600 laptop screen I use when I'm away from home) I'd be out of luck. My personal preference is for Sublime. It's a really neat text editor with a zoomed out display at the right side you can use as a scrollbar, very useful for long documents like Gcode.
Hello Joe, Thank you for doing this tutorial! I want to better understand gcode and how to edit it. This video helped a lot! I hope you and your family are doing well in this weird time! How did you get Notepad++ to have the blue and yellow contrast?
Next time, please increase text size for the demo. It's completely unreadable on my phone (and 90% of the screen is blank). Otherwise, great info! Thanks!
I know this is an old video but I'll ask anyways. Could I tell the bed to temp up and then the extruder to temp up then wait for the bed to reach temp and then wait for the extruder to reach temp? There by temping up the bed and the extruder at the same time, not one then the other.
hello Joe ... can you help me when I start to print the nozzle is to high from the bed , so I'm not printing on the bed ,, although when I home my axis it good and all my setting it seems fine so any suggestions ? don't forget me if you bypass 1 million subscribers
When I got my Monoprice Select Mini and used Cura to slice, I didn't set up the print volume to 120x120x120, so it used the default of 100mm^3. I had the same problem of homing fine, but the first layer being about 1mm off the bed. Also, make sure your filament is set to the right diameter. Cura kept switching me back to 2.85 instead of 1.75, so the machine was under extruding and had a really hard time getting bed adhesion. If it did adhere, the print looked decent, so it took me awhile to find. Good luck!
There is a US-based support forum for low power laser machines at: www.Benboxlaser.us In the software section of BenCutLaser you'll find a CAM program that also has a full blown gcode editor with syntax highlighting!
