Like Stargate.. Like to emphasise the superiority of kinetic weapons.. How is it that a civilization can reach space light years superiority and not discover gunpowder and kinetic weapons first?
Well, gunpowder is a checmical composition. If your planet doesn't have any of it, then you don't get gp, which means you don't get explosives and your kinetic weapons don't go past crossbows. So it is entirely possible for a civ that evolves in a planet without gunpowder to develop other forms of weaponry, like electric arcs or magnetically contained and launched balls of plasma. Of course, it begs the question of why they didn't try Railguns, but then again, we developed railguns because we figured that it could hurl a piece of metal faster than gunpowder can.
@@calvinblue894 What if it's an eusocial species in which all conflicts were ended in the "beating each other with sticks" phase? Then they basically conquered the rest of their world with bronze age tech. By the time they got to gunpowder, there was no need for guns because all members are essentially part of a larger organism. So they don't develop weapons beyond what they need to keep beasts in line, meanwhile they develop other tech to eventually go to space. So, you end up with a space-faring species that has long since forgotten war and guns, simply because it achieved complete dominance before the need for such tech arised.
Honestly, my inner gun nut wants to go off, but we’re talking like hundreds if not thousands of years in the future. I don’t see how a suppressor could ever add anything to AP rounds, but everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt because there could easily be some tech advancement written in to explain away pretty much anything with that time gap. Knowing the U.S. military, humans could have experimented with energy and been like “nah, kinetic f*cks” and spend nearly a millennia perfecting bullet tech, propellants, and lord knows what else. Suspension of disbelief is required, assumptions need to be made, but overall a good story to turn off the brain and just go “heck yeah humans” lol
I personally like the way it was done for Halo. While we obviously have the Story telling dynamic of having a clear divide between Alien and Human weapons for how they perform, the in universe explanation was just that there was never a need to. that kinetic fire arms just always worked well enough that not enough necessity was there to develop energy weapons for general use. And by the events of later in the war with the Covenant, energy weapons were making a turn around, like the Spartan Laser having advanced in use. But Kinetic weapons were still reliable enough to keep their use. The other part I think is to the advantage of Kinetic weapons in stories like what's in the video, is that societies that turn to purely energy based weapons, will often develop armor that favors defense against energy, instead of kinetic weapons. Just like how modern combat armor helps lessen the damage from bullets, But have nothing in stopping Arrows. A similar situation comes about in Star Wars, where everyone is using Blasters, and so anyone who does have armor, have Plastoid, which is very good at dispersing heat, But shatter with any sharp impact. So even if the armor manages to stop the first bullet, a second shot is going to get through when the plastoid armor plates have shattered into chunks dangling from the wearer. It is absolutely possible to make armor that does both, and survives both repeatedly. But it requires either being from a society so advanced that they can do so easily, Or having to spend huge amounts of money and resources to outfit even just a few soldiers for that. Halo giving great examples of both of these instances, with Forerunners having that advancement to have it all and easily. While the UNSC humans have to spend a lot of resources and money to outfit Spartans with Mjolnir. Even the Covenant either don't, or can't outfit every single one of their soldiers to that degree, so then only a portion of their troops get armor that protect well from kinetic and energy at the same time.
Mandalorians used “slug throwers” against Jedi, which were just regular fucking guns, shooting physical bullets which, unlike plasma bolts, wouldn’t be deflected by lightsabers. Instead they’d melt and frag into superheated shrapnel and hit the Jedi anyway
Interesting... If we can develop it into real book, using this as base when human meet other species in galaxy, it can work with some natural dialogue between human and the alien.
There is no way any planet's military would send a lone private to something like this event. That’s the thing that I believe with technology between different races. With energy based weapons and defenses, they only seem effect to each other because that’s how they were made to perform. With our tech, using physical weapons and no energy, I certainly believe bullets will have no issue breaking through energy shields due to the lack of energy/light for the shield to disperse or the shield not generating heat so much as to instantly stop or block/melt said object or anything that comes in contact. Just because energy tech is seen has super powerful doesn’t mean is always effective.

I urge you to read E.E. "Doc" Smith's (RIP) "Lensman" series (circa. 1950's). Appearing in the story are rapid fire kinetic weapons with the muzzle surrounded by a ring of energy projectors, making armoring against it especially challenging.

5:50 if there is a time delay of a second, on hit's between the shield and the target, it would be 800-900meters long gap :D (half a mile)(AK-74muzzle velocity)
Plasma is shooting a heated liquid, it is perfect at lethality, bad at piercing. Kinetic is good at cutting thru armor and tissue. Not good with lethality. Aka plasma and kinetic are still good as they is. Particle accelerator may be better than our traditional weapons at force the projectiles are fired, but they are impractical against groups of targets. Unless their critical spots are aligned in line. I dont know how ion weaponry works, therebefore I can't tell you. But i guess great cooldown? Therebefore kinetic, particle accelerators, plasma, and ion weapons are good
So... If this is the future, the M4 carbine would be more than likely phased out for the newer weapons. This means they brought an incredibly old weapon. I mean, it works. It shows the basics of kenetic energy, and how they likely now have an even more effective round and counter-measures against anti-kenetic defenses. Such as railguns. Let them get a taste, but don't show your hand.
Another comment to Callahan's response! He could example their energy weapons being developed by the idea of energy emissions from components from practical devices! Such as projectiles from simple edged weapons primitive man used!

And I probably spelled some wrong which weakens my rant. lol.
If you develop for the recent weapons only, and a archaic weapon comes along, the archaic weapon works more
Spell check for god sake.
He ignored the Jews and the insults 🙄
But at least the Arabs were amused
@@andrewgarner2224 I wondered if that was intentional.
You mean ‘for god’s sake’
@@sirniloc I mostly post from my iPhone using dictation. It is forever making mistakes/misunderstanding whatever. Frankly I have just gotten tired of constantly correcting it. If it isn’t particularly important, I don’t bother with it. So I didn’t bother with it. Oh, and I’m not getting paid for it either.
@@Mikedeela I’m an internet troll
I urge you to read E.E. "Doc" Smith's (RIP) "Lensman" series (circa. 1950's). Appearing in the story are rapid fire kinetic weapons with the muzzle surrounded by a ring of energy projectors, making armoring against it especially challenging.
guess the human was lucly no one came with a MAC(Magnetically Accelerated Cannon).
Lol aliens gonna pick up humans in tanks and drop them on enemy worlds and watch them destroy
9:29 How can you keep with there speed.
This is an average tuesday for human soldiers
I think the Asgard said it best in sg1 “the Asgard have tried to stop them. You have demonstrated their weakness may be found from a less sophisticated approach. We are no longer capable of such thinking.
bonus quiz, name 1 farming tool that can't be used as a weapon... butter churn gives heart attacks
this format really suits me
0:48 ignoring the Jews and insults? 3:31 The aliens followed with an Arab amusement? That's rich. 🤣
Wonder what they would think if they brought a 50 out and opened up with that.
This was a Stargate SG-1 plot.
part 2 plz
Wait until they find out about railguns
Imagine bro whips out of rocket launcher
If they thought AP was impressive wait until they see APHE, API, and APFSDS
13:43 no that’s no ap that would be explosive ap pireces not chunks
i wanna know why they stuck with a 5.56. its for sure a different round than what we use way more power than a normal 5.56. i wanna see what a 50cal would do or even a smaller cannon like a 20mm or 30mm then lol
For those not in the know, a 5.56 is just a 22 caliber. Its.... Not that good.
Hey, it works, you can use it as a weapon. Even if you don't like it.
wait till they see the sturmtiger
The human methodology is I am the weapon, every thing is just a tool
5:50 if there is a time delay of a second, on hit's between the shield and the target, it would be 800-900meters long gap :D (half a mile)(AK-74muzzle velocity)
Low tech beats high tech.
wait till they learn about railguns lol
5.56. Full metal jacket. 💀
Therebefore kinetic, particle accelerators, plasma, and ion weapons are good
M855A1 aint no joke. I winder what future 556 could do
Let them get a taste, but don't show your hand.
just wait till they see battle ships
I wanna see these aliens react to an M2
Me smiling and whatever for the flash then pain you know existed.
Another comment to Callahan's response! He could example their energy weapons being developed by the idea of energy emissions from components from practical devices! Such as projectiles from simple edged weapons primitive man used!
ah yes my daily dose of human superiority
weapons using something like hollowpoint or buckshot it doesn't mean it's primative
