This is fantastic, thank you. My question is, if I export the image back to google maps how do I get it to show 3D terrain? I can get it to show my building in 3D, but the surrounding area is flat. Id like my image to follow original terrain. Thanks again though, it works great.
In Sketchup Make 2017 I had to hit backspace after using the ruler to edit the scale. I was not able to just click the text field to change it but it worked
Hi! This is cool. I will try it. But I have a question: Can a user export Google Earth’s Incredible 3D Imagery available today for some cities and import it into SketchUp?? That would be awesome! Can it be done?
@@TutorialsUp You sound shocked and upset? I don't know why? Because SketchUp allows importing terrain and buildings as manufactured models already, look at this video: ruclips.net/video/W7sAJywfQDk/видео.html. Their Lidar scans with 3D imagery will one day be available to user and there is nothing wrong with that. Otherwise aerial photos and procedure as you show in your tutorial should also be illegal.
how do I get the topo from that google image it only shows the terrain from the add image location snap shot even if I erase that image. (trying to 3d model my property topo) using the better google earth image
When it comes to sketchup tutorials, TutorialsUP has no match. But the only problem you have is that all the videos are without audio. Beleive me if you are doing the audio along with the video, you will be the best on you tube.
Great vid. I use this technique a lot to bring in Hi-res images for site development projects. Have you noticed a difference in rotation from true north between the sketchup geolocation and the google earth import? I usually have to rotate the GE image about 1.5 degrees or eyeball align it. Just curious if anyone else experienced this and if there is a better solution. Thanks. Enjoy your vids.
Yes, you are right I always prefer google earth North and you can easily verify and Correct placement and north by exporting .kmz file Thanks for mention that.
