If you still need google API access there are no cost options for the 1st 3 months. There are also no cost ways to do this through blender. Same essential workflow
Follow up; my city has a very robust 3D massing library for buildings coupled with property data map and utilities data (etc.), but the massings are blank groups. For rendering purposes I'd like to know if the faces of the building data from this extension can be easily applied to my city's massings.
I'm not sure how well they'd render. This is basically just the 3D scanned image data from Google Earth applied to a mesh generated from the scan. From a ways away I think it looks great, but up close you can definitely tell it's a scan
Suppose it's a matter of perspective - how many hours would you spend modeling the city context yourself? What's the billable amount of those hours? Then you'd have to compare that to the amount you spend on a subscription. Also I've not spent any money on data as of yet - not sure what the limit is from Google on that
I did everything in your subscription, used your affiliatelink, paid the fee but when I import the google data in Sketchup there is written "This import is for active subscribers only." What have I done wrong?
@@DoerrHeimtex This video is misleading. You cant use the 'import 3d earth' option for placemaker within sketchup without paying the full $240. You also can't import anything without paying for the $20 pay as you go option, but even then 100 credits is barely enough for anything. You have to choose what to import. I tried the pay as you go thinking I could get at least one full site model but you cant. I was only able to get terrain and 3d buildings with the $20 I spent. And it looks awful compared to what is showed in this video. Dont get this unless you want to spend hundreds.
Unfortunately it's telling me i have to be an active subscriber ? Not sure if it's reference to Placemaker even though in all demonstration nobody has credit ?
Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about the Placemaker Google Earth integration in the comments below! :)

You tried to record with your laptop? Try recording sound on your phone. And add the phone recording to your video recording.
i’d love to see what an eye level perspective looks like in your example 3d mesh import
I'd like to see what something like this looks like when rendered.
hello, will this import into Lumion after selecting an area and then adding my Sketch Up model/project?
thats way too expensive. and result arent that good. i think i wasted my money
Is there something better for rendering site contexts?
I'd like to know how sketchup deals with this data with regards to materials. Thanks!

Is there anyway I can do this on an iPad?
It seems to be a very expensive plugin if you both need to pay for a subscription and for the data you use...

Sound is off
Respectful to you, bro.

This I don't know - I'd shoot them a support request - support.mindsightstudios.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
@@Thesketchupessentials Thank you. Meanwhile I tried it on my second PC, but the same issue.

You do have to be an active subscriber
Just a heads up - the audio is a bit funky on this one...
I've not been able to be in my home studio for multiple weeks due to life issues - I'm working to get a better microphone setup in the short term
Justin at half a million subscribers surely you can afford a better mic , you sound like you speak through a radio
Some phases of life you do the best you can - if I could be sitting at home in my studio I would be
@@Thesketchupessentialstry the AI voice enhancing softwares online lot of them are free they process the audio pretty well and work very easily .
Is it working on Indian sites also? Please check and let me know
