I would like a lock feature for Steam items. It's like the trade cooldown but you decide when the countdown starts. Basically you have an item and you choose to lock it. If you want that item to be tradable/marketable again you have to start "unlocking" it, and letìs say it lasts 7 days. During those 7 days you can at any time choose to reset the timer, Steam support cannot remove this lock. This would prevent at least API scams (which I'm guessing you fell victim to) because you would know that someone is trying to steal your skins if the lock timer were to start.
This is a pretty good idea. If anyone could find flaws with this that could be cool to find a solid way to have extra security for special items. Maybe an email and notification when that item gets unlocked and the 7 day countdown starts.
you can remove your steam authenticator and create a new one, that'll prevent any trades from happening in the next 15 days. If you're paranoid, you can keep doing this over and over.
