- This is the third oil change for my Honda Pioneer 700. I show all the parts needed and the steps in meticulous detail.
Clean the engine compartment around the oil filter and oil cap before changing your oil. It's also a good idea to spray the underside clean with a water hose. Only change your oil on a level surface.
Most auto parts stores can get these parts or you can order them as a kit on Amazon.
Parts needed:
Oil filter: 15412-KEA-003
Oil: 3.1 quarts of Honda GN4 10W-30
17mm wrench
10mm socket
12mm socket
Flashlight
Clean bowl
Paper-towel
Flathead screwdriver
Air Filter: 17254-HP0-A00
A well done video that helped with service on my 2023 700-4 thanks for your time.
Cool. Thanks for watching.
Great video! Good camera angles and step by step instructions.
Thanks. I appreciate the feedback.
Great video. Best one yet for oil change, very detailed. I wasn't sure what direction the filter went in due to it looking exact.
Thanks for watching.
The metal air filter insert does pop out of the black plastic once you loosen off the clamp. Much easier to work with
Isn't the new air filter supposed to be oiled?
Is the metal inside of the air filter supposed to slip off? I've got the same issue where either my metal part is stuck on, or it's meant to stay on.
I have a good friend who is a mechanic at the dealer where I purchased my pioneer. I watched him change an air filter before I changed mine, and I followed his procedure exactly. He said sometimes they take off the entire air filter assembly and the box if there is mud in it or if it's really dirty, but most of the time they just slip it off like I did. He never said anything about oiling it. I've changed my filter probably 4 or 5 times since the video and it always did it the same way. Never had any problems with the engine.
Great job!
Thanks.
Est-ce possible de voir le vidéo en français?
Shouldnt you turn on the engine after adding the 3.1 quarts of oil to cycle and then add the remainder?
I've never read that anywhere.
Your post to put oil on the filter
do you have a video on the transmission service?
No. Never did that one. There are a couple on the Honda Pioneer 700 Riders facebook group.
Have you ever change the differential fluids in the front and rear DEF? Is there separate trans oil or is that all together with the engine?
There is separate fluid, but my owners manual does not mentioning changing the differential fluid, but the dealer said it's a good idea to change it and lube everything up at 500 hours. I had to look pretty hard to find the bolts to remove that will allow it to drain. I plan on doing that in the next couple of weeks and will post a video.
Probably a good idea is to pressure wash your SXS the day before you are going to change the oil.
Yes. That's a good Idea.
Where did you get your roof and wind shield?
I got the roof from the dealer and bought the windshield from superatv.com.
🏆🏆🏆👍🙏
Thank you for sharing
My pleasure.
Trey Gowdy?
Most of the time I get compared to Bill Clinton.
Puis-je l'avoir en français svp?
Je vais travailler dessus.
Surprised you ain't got rubber gloves on being so concerned about Allitle dirt!
Gotta keep my baby clean. Inside and out.
It should be against the law to require more than one socket size to service a vehicle!!!
For real
