  • How to easily remove the difficult factory oil filter on Hisun and Axis 500 UTVs. The factory oil filter on Hisun and Axis brand UTVs are very difficult to remove due to tight clearances and just general poor location. This video will show you how to locate the oil filter and oil drain plug location along with the proper tools and tips and tricks to remove the factory oil filter fairly easily. The K&N Oil Filter that i installed is an upgraded premium filter with an integrated nut that will allow much easier filter removal during your next oil change.

    I have the same Axis and I have changed the oil twice in it. I bought a small oil filter wrench on amazon and had no problem removing the filter. Worked great. Thanks for the video.

    I’ve owned my hisun 500 now for about 6 years. I’m very impressed with the dependability of this machine ! It’s not very powerful but I use mine almost everyday to run fencing and tend to my animals. I plow with it in the winter as well , checking the oil level and changing the oil filter are both crappy jobs but that’s my only real complaint ! We all like it so much that my son just bought one.

    Great video. I have strap wrench I bought for diesel filters and it works pretty good for this. I put a rag below the filter, otherwise oil goes under the engine and leaks out for days. BTW, thst oil plug is easy to overtighten. After I deformed mine b/c of the spring, I just keep a spare and I ended up cutting a half coil off the spring so its not so hard to start the plug. So far so good with mine.

    Hey Brother this is driver cuz I just bought a rhino 660. Going to have hell getting that K&N oil filter off because you tighten it too tight. And look in your manual and see how to check the oil level. Your dipstick has an O-ring on it so you don't have to tighten it up to where you almost break it. Just words of caution. I do enjoy watching your videos and I do hope you get your 500 Subs. I'm a aircraft mechanic by trade but have worked in the ATV UTV industry for years oh, so I do know a little bit about and by no means am I an expert that's why I enjoy watching different users of these machines

      I dont think the filter will be any trouble getting back off next time, the integrated nut on the end really helps on removing these things no matter how tight or stuck they are. So far , no oil leaks, seems to be doing good.

    I have a 2021 axis 700... Have already saved lots of money due to guys like yourself sharing info. Want to snorkel my axis between the top of the bed too the head rest just for peace of mind. Only kit I've found was for the rhino.. which everyone says should work the same, but it's 500 bucks. Can't see myself spending 500 on a snorkel kit when I could use that for tires or something more important.
    You wouldn't happen to know all the main or important parts of the Axis that need to be snorkelled do you? I see the two behind the driver under the bed. What are the others to include vents? Any info you or others can give would be highly appreciated. . Got kit for sportsman 850 high lifter, but did a DIY on sportsman 500. Turn out better than I expected and sealed better now than from factory. So trying to have the same luck with Axis

      sorry man, i cant really give you any info on how to snorkel the Hisun/Axis. it is one of the things i plan on doing to mine in the future and will have to figure out a good way of doing it DIY style, i cant afford those high price snorkel kits myself, lol. so i will probably piece a pvc pipe type of thing together and just experiment til i find something that works well. if you do yours and it works out good, feel free to send me some pics of what you did to yours.

      Like you, I can figure the best way.... Once I know what and where it needs to be snorkeled... But I will lock you in, and if I have success, I will share the info.. Thanks for replying

    Dump the rubber band and use a piece of emery paper strip in the place of the rubber band, a solid grip and oil will not hurt the grip.

    • @woodz_walker
      @woodz_walker  10 месяцев назад

      hadnt thought of that. but the wrench didnt close up enough to grip good, so the rubber band was thick enough to get a good grip.

      Link in the description. Tractor Supply and O Reilleys are the only places i found that carry these unless you order off of Amazon. Some advice, dont use a Fram for anything oil related, worst filters ever. I learned the hard way by smoking 2 truck engines using Fram oil filters.

      @@woodz_walker Hi WW, yes it's hisun axis 500. I bought the e-manual for it and the plug with the speedometer sensor is what I ended up removing to top off final gear oil.
      I unclupped it to make it spin freely.
      So since recent purchase I checked all the fluids and am breaking it in.

      Yes you are correct. The E Manual doesnt show the speed sensor attached there for some unknown reason. Its a bit confusing, but you are doing it right.
