    2018 looks so much better, especially the side profile of the front. I had the RS 2LT Convertible in blue. Beautiful.

    The vertical running lights on the 18 make it look more aggressive. 18 RSs look way better in person than in videos, especially with quad exhaust. The 19 RS definitely looks like an entry level car. But the rear lights are very nice.

    More side by side comparisons like this please.
    I'm fascinated with the year on year changes, something unique to US car culture.
    I'm loving those 'safecracker' air vents, and the great camera moves by BGM avoiding the background lurkers.

      Just about everyone here thinks the 2018 looks better. No need to be a bigot over an ugly ass front end if you dont agree.

  • @Clone895
    @Clone895 5 лет назад +7

    Just a few things of note:
    1.) The black bowtie is optional on both cars and is a dealer installed option (mine has the gold bowties but on the window sticker it says it was optioned with black ones)
    2.) The gauge cluster system is IDENTICAL in both. The 2018 simply has the system in a different mode. As someone who owns a 2017 2SS, I have experienced both layouts on my car (although you do have to dig through the menus to find it).
    3.) One big difference between them is that the 2019 does NOT have Homelink whereas the outgoing 18 does
    4.) The 2018 Camaro has an A8 transmission as opposed to the 2019’s A10

I actually got to keep the 2018 RS rims and slapped them on the 2019, looks great. Went electric blue to gunmetal blue with red stripes

    Just sharing a few thing.. the 2018 Camaro Rs is available in a black bow tie. It’s called the Black Bow tie edition. The gears and digital display are similar to the 2019. Maybe the 2018 that was compared was not the premium level.. Idk. I wasn’t sure about the rear view visibility but it turns out great. The 2018 is available in electronic blue and the combination with black is amazing. Definitely a head turner everywhere I go!

    • @brandonperkins2877
      @brandonperkins2877 5 лет назад

      Justin Désilets anyone that pays 40k for a v6 base model is an idiot whether it’s RS package or not. regardless of package leather etc...MSRP price for a 2019 SS starts at 37k... so think about what you say before replying :)

    • @justindesilets3526
      @justindesilets3526 5 лет назад

      @@brandonperkins2877 you should do the same:) this one is fully optioned with the leather option (kalahari) as well as the convenience and lighting package, which is not possible on the 1SS. You need to get the 2SS and its MSRP is 44.5k. So for someone who doesn't want the V8 (like me, I got the 2.0T), the difference is appreciable. Have fun going through the build & price on chevy's website, and please come back tell me I was right :)

      @brandonperkins2877 5 лет назад +3

      Justin Désilets like I said I don’t understand what you’re not getting about what I’m saying. A v6 isn’t worth 40k dude ..if you’re gonna spend 40k you might as get more for your buck. Chevy rips off by selling a v6 for $40k when a simple engine upgrade in the 1SS is basically cheaper than that. Like it’s about worth here. But hey you spend $40k on an RS lol you’re the one wasting your money.

    RS has the chrome strips in grill on 2018s. The 2019 LT front end, the bottom of grille over body color & flat black will get beat to s_it with the sun, dressing will only make it worse over time. The 16 to 18s are well protected from sun damage. Clear tail lights look like goggles & also will yellow over time.

    At the end you actually explained exactly why the Mustang is better to me. The Mustang keeps the old school looks mixed with today's looks with the interior and stays true to its heritage. The Mustang build # badge on the inside along with the better visibility, Racaro seats, Shaker sound system and exhaust control. Even flipping different switches for certain controls.

    Good reviews, you got a few things wrong though.
    #1. They haven't been tweaking the design since 2010, the Camaro line was completely redesigned for the 2016 year. Including changing the entire platform to the Alpha platform.
    #2. The 2018 is a 2LT trim level and the 2019 is a 3LT trim level. So both in this video are LT trim level's with RS packages (there is no such thing as an RS trim level or an RS performance package. RS is just an appearance package)
    #3. On the 2018 you can get it with a Black Bow tie on the front and rear.
    #4. The 2019 Camaro is basically identical other than the computer(2018 has the IO5 or IO6 computers, 2019 has the IOT or IOR for the infortainment), the rims, front and rear other than that it's the same car. (there is a rumored 7th gen in the works that apparently is going to be more like the Mustang in the sense that there will be better visibility)
    #5. The word "Camaro" wasn't made up as a mustang eater. In 1966 and 1967 when the Camaro was being prepared to get released, it was originally called "The Panther" but the name was changed because other Chevrolet flagship vehicles like the Chevelle and Corvette started with a "C". So they thought it should too. The Mustang eater thing is a great tag line though.
    #6. You said the gauges are different. You can go into the settings on the 2018 and make it look like the 2019 does, or go into the 2019's settings and make it look like the 2018. It's just a gauge setting in the software. Nothing at all has changed.

    Good video. Love me some Camaro eye candy. Personally I'm not a fan of the new grill on the 2019 LS LT line it literally reminds me of a large mouth bass and it drives me nuts i can't get that out of my mind. But the 2019 hood is pretty bad ass I will say and I'm surprised you didn't point that difference out. Also regarding the instrument dash, actually it gives you three options to change the display style. You can change the 2018 to the same style you showed on the 2019.

    The front of the base model is Ok but the 4 cylinder engine is still weak, they should have upgraded it or put the new 2.7T. They messed up the SS front, and should have rated the engine at 460/465 to keep up with the Mustang, the we're protecting the Corvette and that sucks for us that can't afford one, I dive a 2017 V6 and I'm in love with it, the 2.0T is worthless to me if the Base model Mustang makes more power and torque. Also the 1LE package is cool but is also worthless, very few owners will take their cars to the track, they should have focused on straight speed because this car handles pretty well already on that Alpha platform. The Camaro is now even behind the Challenger on sales, I don't know wtf is Chevy doing.

      @@Arayig1982 You call the '94 "retro"?
      More like fucking trash. The mustang is iconic and must appeal to the vintage standard. Sales were bad for mustang as soon as they went crazy with new designs in the 1980s and 1990s. The 2006 sold really well.....You know why? Because it's nostalgic. Nostalgic sells. It's retro. If Ford wants to do a modern mustang style, then separate the car into different packages. A heritage package and a modern desired style. So that way they appeal to a wide range of potential customers and make money. I'm not even a mustang fan, I'm a MOPAR guy. But I will defend my belief for all of the retro cars. Camaro, mustang, challenger, charger, mini cooper' etc.
