The vertical running lights on the 18 make it look more aggressive. 18 RSs look way better in person than in videos, especially with quad exhaust. The 19 RS definitely looks like an entry level car. But the rear lights are very nice.
More side by side comparisons like this please. I'm fascinated with the year on year changes, something unique to US car culture. I'm loving those 'safecracker' air vents, and the great camera moves by BGM avoiding the background lurkers.
The fuck is wrong with you DD? Reading comprehension and social interaction arent your things? You sound like a fucking 12 year old. Just about everyone here thinks the 2018 looks better. No need to be a bigot over an ugly ass front end if you dont agree.
Just a few things of note: 1.) The black bowtie is optional on both cars and is a dealer installed option (mine has the gold bowties but on the window sticker it says it was optioned with black ones) 2.) The gauge cluster system is IDENTICAL in both. The 2018 simply has the system in a different mode. As someone who owns a 2017 2SS, I have experienced both layouts on my car (although you do have to dig through the menus to find it). 3.) One big difference between them is that the 2019 does NOT have Homelink whereas the outgoing 18 does 4.) The 2018 Camaro has an A8 transmission as opposed to the 2019’s A10
I crashed my new 2018 RS and got back into a new 2019 RS and I definitely like the 2019 better. The 3LT has an illuminated black bow tie in the front that is just so crisp. I actually got to keep the 2018 RS rims and slapped them on the 2019, looks great. Went electric blue to gunmetal blue with red stripes
Just sharing a few thing.. the 2018 Camaro Rs is available in a black bow tie. It’s called the Black Bow tie edition. The gears and digital display are similar to the 2019. I agree for the exterior but the interior is a big no for me. I just wish they could take the gen 5 exterior, put the gen 6 interior and make the absolute perfect car 😓

Definitely a step forward. Love the comparison video. Not a newer camaros fan and definitely prefer the mustang but camaro is still a great option. I don't have a lot of complaints or salt for the newer camaros because the price tag seems very fair for what you are getting. Could they had done more? Definitely, but I understand they are trying to keep it at a certain price.
The interiors of the ‘18 and ‘19 are identical including the DIC, the different layouts shown are just skins and can be changed between a few preset skins. Only difference is the MyLink system being updated
I agree with you with the back. The tail lights looks a little more cooler now they should just get red of the horizontal line. And the Rs logo is still on the bottom.
Justin Désilets anyone that pays 40k for a v6 base model is an idiot whether it’s RS package or not. regardless of package leather etc...MSRP price for a 2019 SS starts at 37k... so think about what you say before replying :)
@@brandonperkins2877 you should do the same:) this one is fully optioned with the leather option (kalahari) as well as the convenience and lighting package, which is not possible on the 1SS. You need to get the 2SS and its MSRP is 44.5k. So for someone who doesn't want the V8 (like me, I got the 2.0T), the difference is appreciable. Have fun going through the build & price on chevy's website, and please come back tell me I was right :)
Justin Désilets like I said I don’t understand what you’re not getting about what I’m saying. A v6 isn’t worth 40k dude ..if you’re gonna spend 40k you might as get more for your buck. Chevy rips off by selling a v6 for $40k when a simple engine upgrade in the 1SS is basically cheaper than that. Like it’s about worth here. But hey you spend $40k on an RS lol you’re the one wasting your money.
RS has the chrome strips in grill on 2018s. The 2019 LT front end, the bottom of grille over body color & flat black will get beat to s_it with the sun, dressing will only make it worse over time. The 16 to 18s are well protected from sun damage. Clear tail lights look like goggles & also will yellow over time.
I like both, but the '19 changes you pointed out I agree with. Front end looks awesome especially including that black bowtie. Do they have the Blazer yet??
Blazer is out and another miss with camaro front end treatment. Overall looks like a 4 door camaro in CUV form. What a let down for a storied nameplate!
At the end you actually explained exactly why the Mustang is better to me. The Mustang keeps the old school looks mixed with today's looks with the interior and stays true to its heritage. The Mustang build # badge on the inside along with the better visibility, Racaro seats, Shaker sound system and exhaust control. Even flipping different switches for certain controls.
Good reviews, you got a few things wrong though. #1. They haven't been tweaking the design since 2010, the Camaro line was completely redesigned for the 2016 year. Including changing the entire platform to the Alpha platform. #2. The 2018 is a 2LT trim level and the 2019 is a 3LT trim level. So both in this video are LT trim level's with RS packages (there is no such thing as an RS trim level or an RS performance package. RS is just an appearance package) #3. On the 2018 you can get it with a Black Bow tie on the front and rear. #4. The 2019 Camaro is basically identical other than the computer(2018 has the IO5 or IO6 computers, 2019 has the IOT or IOR for the infortainment), the rims, front and rear other than that it's the same car. (there is a rumored 7th gen in the works that apparently is going to be more like the Mustang in the sense that there will be better visibility) #5. The word "Camaro" wasn't made up as a mustang eater. In 1966 and 1967 when the Camaro was being prepared to get released, it was originally called "The Panther" but the name was changed because other Chevrolet flagship vehicles like the Chevelle and Corvette started with a "C". So they thought it should too. The Mustang eater thing is a great tag line though. #6. You said the gauges are different. You can go into the settings on the 2018 and make it look like the 2019 does, or go into the 2019's settings and make it look like the 2018. It's just a gauge setting in the software. Nothing at all has changed.
Good video. Love me some Camaro eye candy. Personally I'm not a fan of the new grill on the 2019 LS LT line it literally reminds me of a large mouth bass and it drives me nuts i can't get that out of my mind. But the 2019 hood is pretty bad ass I will say and I'm surprised you didn't point that difference out. Also regarding the instrument dash, actually it gives you three options to change the display style. You can change the 2018 to the same style you showed on the 2019.
Definitely not diggin the Dodge front. I swear it looks like a Charger I blacked out everything on my 2013 ZL1. Definitely don’t like chrome or the gold bowtie. They should have stayed with the ZL1 1LE look.
The Bowtie on the 2019 looks a little out of place. Chevrolet should have placed it in the center of the grille. The RS should have fog lights on the lower grille area. The 2019 RS fascia looks better than the 2019 SS front fascia.
Can't decide which one to get soon, 2019 will lose value in just a few years. I can get a 2018 RS for $22k and a 2019 RS for $30k. The SS is just way to pricey for me right now so no V8 sadly.
Excellent video Joe! I like the Camaro but not being able to see out of the back would be a deal breaker for me. I have a 2012 Nissan 370Z that I love to drive but I do wish I could see a little better out of the back especially when backing out of a parking spot or when making a turn in a parking lot where I have to check for oncoming traffic. Keep up the great work! 😎👍
I have a 2016 Camaro. I love the Visibility in it. Its law for any new cars to have a back camera, those are 100% better then looking out any back window also you pay a little more and get the line change camera also.
The front of the base model is Ok but the 4 cylinder engine is still weak, they should have upgraded it or put the new 2.7T. They messed up the SS front, and should have rated the engine at 460/465 to keep up with the Mustang, the we're protecting the Corvette and that sucks for us that can't afford one, I dive a 2017 V6 and I'm in love with it, the 2.0T is worthless to me if the Base model Mustang makes more power and torque. Also the 1LE package is cool but is also worthless, very few owners will take their cars to the track, they should have focused on straight speed because this car handles pretty well already on that Alpha platform. The Camaro is now even behind the Challenger on sales, I don't know wtf is Chevy doing.
Like you said the more I see the new tail lights my opinion also changes on them they don't look as bad as I thought and now seeing them side by side they don't look incredibly different. With this video you have me feeling good about the 2019. Both of these cars look great, but I'm still a long life Mustang guy. Awesome video Joe and Tom you guys always do great highlighting these awesome cars!!!
When I keep looking closer it looks like a bmw i8 in the front the of the new RS. What a shame. I wish they could make a remake, but it’s already to late to complain. I seen some 2019 Camaro it looks pretty cool when it actually drives .
What's wrong with the mustang retro ques? It's a retro heritage design man. It's classic and timeless. None of this 21st century shit will ever stand the test of time. Camaro needs to stay classic and retro. That's what people want. If you want a 21st century style, then get something else. Get a Tesla.
@@Arayig1982 You call the '94 "retro"? More like fucking trash. The mustang is iconic and must appeal to the vintage standard. Sales were bad for mustang as soon as they went crazy with new designs in the 1980s and 1990s. The 2006 sold really well.....You know why? Because it's nostalgic. Nostalgic sells. It's retro. If Ford wants to do a modern mustang style, then separate the car into different packages. A heritage package and a modern desired style. So that way they appeal to a wide range of potential customers and make money. I'm not even a mustang fan, I'm a MOPAR guy. But I will defend my belief for all of the retro cars. Camaro, mustang, challenger, charger, mini cooper' etc.
All they had to do was make a model without all the unnecessary electronics and put the V8 in it. It would sell the price wouldn’t be so outrageous. For 40 grand you can get a 2012 ZL1 or hec a nice 2012 SS for about 20k. 400hp for 20k is a deal
I have the 2018 RS In Black. I hate the front of the 2019. If they produce Camaro’s similar to the 2019 only in the future, I’ll be sticking with the older ones then. Maybe that or I’ll convert to a Challenger, hahaha.
You know what Chevy should do to help mitigate the low viability in the rear? Make the rear-view mirror a camera. Not a reflection of what is behind you but an actual video of what is behind you. Would help tremendously.
Chevy is willing to change the color of their bow tie. That’s one of the reasons I’ll take Chevy over Ford. Ford is unwilling to modify their big blue ford sign. Anyway two beautiful cars - one very informative video 👍
Camaro was choosing aesthetics and European feel which people were enjoying they now went to a more meaner look which people had become accustomed to the aesthetics look
I happen to like the gold bowtie in some cases but I do prefer the rounder tail lights where I zonk the car in both cases is the engine it should be a V8 maybe not the big one but there is the 5.3 they should put in there as for the sun roof they should not offer it at all on the Camero some cars do have a place for that option but a performance car it dose not belong
2018 looks so much better, especially the side profile of the front. I had the RS 2LT Convertible in blue. Beautiful.

lol "to the side" I dont think they have changed the side of the Camaro since 2010. not complaining tho, the side profile is legendary
So very right! They did get rid of the three fake vents that were right in front of the rear wheels.
They reversed the side indents too & raised the quarter seam.
2018 looks better to be honest!

But the 2019 hood is pretty bad ass I will say and I'm surprised you didn't point that difference out. Also regarding the instrument dash, actually it gives you three options to change the display style. You can change the 2018 to the same style you showed on the 2019.
Thank you so much for sharing your great points and input! I really appreciate you watching!
Awesome job thx for comparison, nice! You should put a best of zonks and non zonks reviews, what say you? Thx Joe and Tom
You are so very welcome. We are going to be getting something like that together!
Does the new rs 2020 have more cabin space than the 2018 model? It looks like the improved the inside a little bit
Definitely not diggin the Dodge front. I swear it looks like a Charger
I blacked out everything on my 2013 ZL1. Definitely don’t like chrome or the gold bowtie. They should have stayed with the ZL1 1LE look.
I totally agree with you! I love the look of the ZL1 1LE! Thanks for watching!
The charger looks way better imo
It's great to have options!
@@RaitisRides when i say the charger looks better, I'm saying it looks better than the rs
Mancattan oh I’m with you on this. The Charger looks way better then this RS
Good presentation. Let's give this man over 400 thumbs up.
That really means a lot!
The Bowtie on the 2019 looks a little out of place. Chevrolet should have placed it in the center of the grille. The RS should have fog lights on the lower grille area. The 2019 RS fascia looks better than the 2019 SS front fascia.
I appreciate your input and thank you for watching!
Can't decide which one to get soon, 2019 will lose value in just a few years. I can get a 2018 RS for $22k and a 2019 RS for $30k. The SS is just way to pricey for me right now so no V8 sadly.
I can totally understand where you are coming from!
All you have to do is order the SS emblem from year one or eBay and get rid of the bow tie that's what I would do if I owned those cars
Very good suggestion!
@ Raiti's Rides Did they take off the fog lights in RS models from 2019?
Yes they did.
@@RaitisRides Thanks man.. By any chance do you know if we can install one?
Shoutout to the local. I take my Camaro to that dealer for maintenance. Thought it looked familiar
Thanks for taking the time to say that! Maybe I will run into you one day!
Another great review. I like how you see design mistakes and how GM could've improved the look of 19 Camaro.
That really means a lot! Thank you so much!
Thanks for you great feedback and perspective! I really appreciate your kind words!
I totally feel the same way! It will be curious how this is going to pan out!
Nahh, don't need brembos on a v6. That's just one of the perks of paying extra for the v8.
Very good point! You could actually get the 1LE option on this V6.
It’s a Camero? You paying for a sports car/muscle car, it should get brembos
This is true! Thanks for watching!
Bruh the screen in the gauge cluster is customizable so you can have 3 different styles in the center...
Thanks for. that great info Jose!
@@RaitisRides yeah sure thing if you have any questions about Chevy products I'm here to help
Definitive Camaro in the 2018 model. It will be a future classic just on the design alone!
The 2019 looks more aggressive which what i like !
Thank you so much for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Raiti's Rides no problem man . We would love to hear the RS exhaust and drive review soon . That would be awesome .
You hit on some really great points Dylan! Thanks for your continued support!
Man the video you made about the mclaren was awesome I really enjoyed it.
I am so glad that I could share it with you!
Enjoyed watching this one Joe. Not much between them although the 2019 grille looks better I think. The placement of the RS badge remains really odd.
Thank you so much for watching and I totally agree with you!
Be happy what you have! Some people don't have that. I'm happy with my 2019 RS, and not worried about a damn light design..
Exactly
The interior of the 2019 looks pretty cool still.
I like it overall, especially the AC vents!
They both have the exact same interior
When I keep looking closer it looks like a bmw i8 in the front the of the new RS. What a shame. I wish they could make a remake, but it’s already to late to complain. I seen some 2019 Camaro it looks pretty cool when it actually drives .
I can totally see where you are coming from! Thanks for sharing your input!
Excellent review raiti they just keep getting better and better.
Thank you so much Matt for saying that! I really appreciate it!
2019 was the end product of the pre production model in transformers back in 2013z
That is very true!
What's wrong with the mustang retro ques? It's a retro heritage design man. It's classic and timeless. None of this 21st century shit will ever stand the test of time. Camaro needs to stay classic and retro. That's what people want. If you want a 21st century style, then get something else. Get a Tesla.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Mustang has been retro since '94 SN95 and literally invented the retro look way back when it appeared i '93 so enough is enough.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
2019 looks beautiful damn.
Great video, very good points made about the RS Badging and brakes
Thank you so much Jesus for watching!
I have the 2018 RS In Black. I hate the front of the 2019. If they produce Camaro’s similar to the 2019 only in the future, I’ll be sticking with the older ones then. Maybe that or I’ll convert to a Challenger, hahaha.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
You know what Chevy should do to help mitigate the low viability in the rear? Make the rear-view mirror a camera. Not a reflection of what is behind you but an actual video of what is behind you. Would help tremendously.
That is a REALLY good idea!
Raiti's Rides That is an option on the 2019, with the exception of the ZL1 1LE.
Chevy is willing to change the color of their bow tie. That’s one of the reasons I’ll take Chevy over Ford. Ford is unwilling to modify their big blue ford sign. Anyway two beautiful cars - one very informative video 👍
YESSSS MORE V6 CAMAROOOSSS
There will be more to come, so stay tuned!
Wtf

Camaro was choosing aesthetics and European feel which people were enjoying they now went to a more meaner look which people had become accustomed to the aesthetics look
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
They gave it it's top grill back. Before that it was just a slot. And sales were down.
Thank you so much for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Like the new intro for your videos. As usual good review. Keep it up.
That is so awesome of you to say! Thank you so much for your support!
Thanks for the content I love to watch your videos it makes me more into auto world.
Really appreciate you taking the time to watch!
I can totally understand where you are coming from!
CC shape tail lights. Look nice on a CC.
