When I want an honest review this is where I come. Anything I’ve bought that you’ve reviewed has been pretty spot on

From every video I've seen, even the ones from G2 outdoors (tethyrd guy), that is common with all amsteel bridges. It's literally the end of the bury coming out and not a concern

Great video! I use climbers, lock-on's and a saddle. I personally like climbers better because I have used them for 35 years and that what I'm comfortable with. I think that they all have there place but none are perfect.

hawk saddle is worst representation of a saddle product there is to be fair and john eberhart has really informational videos on saddle hunting (hes done it for 40ish years) he explains how to not get hip pain and easily shoot all angles

I use a saddle and a hang on stand. I’ll fold up the seat to stand on the platform, and the seat comes in handy after a few hours in the saddle.

Yes hawk saddles are cheaper and for me and a lot of people that’s just what you have to go to. With that being said their are better saddles. But I have used the hawk for a couple years now, and found that simply using the back strap that comes with solves a LOT of these problems.

@@shadow0919wrap some hockey tape around the loop where the rope rubs against itself and should be good for a decent while

Man I love my climber too much! upgraded the seat and I could sleep in it over night if I wanted to! Any tree I can fit my arms around my stand will climb. My big ass is not gonna sit in one of these. I wanted to bc of hte lighweight but just not worth it

Thanks for the review! I was "gifted" this saddle as my first saddle setup and probably only one I'll ever have as I'm a western hunter. I think a lot of the problems you encountered can be easily resolved with some modifications. As soon as I opened the package I immediately tossed out the lineman's and tether ropes. They're way to bulky/large and poor quality. I also cut off that horrible nylon bridge. They were replaced with handmade Amsteel linemans and and adjustable bridge. The bridge length is adjustable and I used prussic knots attaching the bridge so that the bridge can be moved up and down the actual saddle to adjust tension on the hips or bottom. I dont use a tether since I single stick and have a rappel rope that acts as my tether. I assume after 2 years you've probably changed or replaced this set up. Anyone looking at this set up should consider making similar mods to get the best out of this setup. You had some great tips about setup however and that's greatly appreciated!

Is it the pressure of the body that causes it to compact and put pressure on your pelvis and hips?

I have been using mine now for a week without a climbing platform. I was using it with just the climbing sticks and it was torture just like you said. The last 2 days I've been using it with a platform and it is significantly better with a platform I don't know what makes the difference if you're able to spread out your legs more or what but using it with a platform makes it much much better than with climbing sticks

This review is only accurate for this guy with that gear! That’s a very limited perspective on saddle hunting. I know that he means well, but you can tell he has no idea what he’s talking about. Incorrect terminology, doesn’t understand the equipment, bought the cheapest stuff you can get and is complaining about it not being durable. Well that’s what you get!
