A lot of guys from the south tell me their trees are poles for 30--40' I don't have a mobile Hunting rig for that. In the northern Midwest with good limbs at 20' feet, my new rig is King. Especially if you're a saddle Hunter!! My first full gear test, one climb hang and set to hunt 20' 3 minutes 40 seconds, no climbing sticks. My video the xop vanish strap was bound up but I was at 17' in 2:40 and usually really quiet.

First of all, this is an AWESOME ministry! I just stumbled across your channel and subscribed. Second, I purchased the Sladder last year. Used it during last season and can say it is a genius idea. I started saddle hunting with the one-stick method and still do from time to time. I found and began using the Sladder and love the simplicity and ease of use. For anyone considering it, there is definitely a learning curve to get past. It can feel bit awkward at first but quickly becomes a breeze.

As a point of safety, I would recommend always being tethered to the tree without slack if you plan to use this system. A lineman’s belt is not sufficient for this technique. As you mentioned, it’s very easy for your foot to kick out and cause your weight to shift and fall. If that happens without being tethered, you will indeed fall. It may be a foot, or it may be all the way to the bottom. It gets even more dangerous if you have slick bark or are climbing with muddy boots in wet conditions. I otherwise see this system as a very viable option. I would probably purchase and try it if the price was more appealing.

First with the positive. It is an ingenious climbing invitation. I first saw this 2 years ago an was amazed. So why did I not jump at it? Compared to one sticking with a using my repel line as my tether this system is incomplete. It requires you to carry a platform and set up a tether when you have reached your height. One sticking you reach your height and already have your platform an tether in place. It is too expensive for an incomplete system. Fidget time goes through the roof when you make your saddle hunting climb. I have a Treetop Outdoors one stick that converts into a backpack to carry my upper layers. I love it because it is universal, and complete. Thanks for the demo. Take care.

Definitely a decent climbing method. I use the jx3 stick as my one stick and platform. The only real advantage i can see with using the sladder is you can climb narrower trees than with my jx3 stick. However the jx3 is still my goto as its both my climbing method and my platform.
