It's so nice! Though the summers there are usually pretty crowded a lot of tourists. Nothing like NYC or Seattle, but still. It's really a lovely town 10/10 recommend.
@@greatcritic1674 I've never been there at night but I live in a tiny town not far from there. It can be scary but it's honestly just more beautiful than anything. you can see all the stars and the moon is so bright. but definitely don't go out alone at night
They only don't know your history. In a small town, you won't be anonymous for long. Realise that you will take yourself and your peculiarities with you to a new place. Start changing yourself, your environment can support that but won't change your inner self. You probably realise that, but I felt the need to share this.
A new place gives you an opportunity to leave the past behind and start from scratch again. But you also have to be mindful of doing the right things once you start over or else you will be back in the same place after a few years. In a smaller town, everyone knows everyone and it's impossible to blend in or be anonymous for long. People naturally take more interest in your life there because they are all dependant on each other for survival. If you have a community centric attitude to do good for people without any commercial interest, then small town can be a real boon for you but a small town is not really a place to hide and be alone. You can't afford to piss off people here because there are only a handful of people who live here anyway. I am permanently shifting base from a mega city to a small village of 680 people in a few months. I lived in that village for a few months on rent over the last 2 years and have already come to know what living in a small place entails. It can be extremely rewarding but not in a way most city folks think.
Rural living, art, books, herbs, a good dog, and flying kites....we are a generation apart, but this grandmother shares many of the same interests, thank you for such a beautiful video. What book did you get?
This grandmother also shares the same interests. Our grandchildren and families are visiting during the month of June, and we have spent several days flying kites!
There seems to be a pattern here. I'm a grandmother, too. We purchased a house on an island in the Puget Sound in our retirement years. My children felt we should live closer to the city and medical establishments but this island offer so much nature, beauty and peace. I love it with all my heart.

Rural american is slowly dying, especially for young people. I looked up where this is pretty easily (there's an address visible on the building) and it is for sure a cute town though.
Your weekly videos are like a cup of cold, crisp water that refreshes my soul. It inspires me throughout the week, and motivates me to enjoy small moments, and not get caught up in the technology and rush of the today's society. Technology has it's benefits, to be sure, but can be addicting and take us away from what matters. I wish not to look back and regret my time spent on the internet all the time, but instead reflect on a past filled with peace.

In the UK there is a whole town dedicated to books called Hay on Wye, Herefordhsire!! It would be your dream place. There is even a castle filled with books. Thanks for your video, I enjoyed it.
It's not quite in Herefordshire as it's just over the border into Wales! Amazingly quaint though and has a book festival around May each year- very wholesome

I would never divulge where she lives. It's not fair to her. I think she is pretty private. But I can say this it's absolutely beautiful whether it's summer or winter. I just immensely enjoy her videos. They're so calm and serene.

I saw this thing on Instagram that is very cool. You take a photo of the clouds, print it out, then draw over it what you see in them. For example, if you see a bunny you draw the bunny over the cloud you think looks like it. You realize how many things you can see in one picture. Love your videos!!! Have a great day!!

It's definitely a reality made possible by tourists and a big country with secure borders and decent police. These places don't exist in many parts of the world, they're a treasure for sure.

My favourite part of the video: your dog's face, too cute! Then in regard to the right home has a way of finding you, interesting that in my last video I say ''I choose Tuscany, or rather Tuscany has chosen me''! I was always on the road, really struggling to settle, until I fell in love with Tuscany! That for me was a big deal, as I never really felt connected to any of the places where I lived! Such a gorgeous town. I live just outside a wee little village in Ireland and after three long years we finally have a shop. It's the size of a bedroom but has been life saver for eggs and milk haha. The end of your video with kite and the view and the music made me all emotional. So beautiful.

Theres a town like this a couple miles from where I live and I love it so much. The houses are from the 1800s and theyre beautiful. The stores are attached to one another so you can walk anywhere. It brings my heart so much happiness to see families hanging out in their front porches (which most houses dont have anymore) or sitting outside the buildings or between them. It's an extremely small downtown area but it feels so peaceful.

My sister I recently stumbled across your channel I think more or less a week ago. It is ministry in the simple life. It reaches us not in words but by doing the ways of simplifying life. I think we can all live this simple life in our own lives if we apply these principles of simplicity less materiality in our daily lives.

I saw this thing on Instagram that is very cool. You take a photo of the clouds, print it out, then draw over it what you see in them. For example, if you see a bunny you draw the bunny over the cloud you think looks like it. You realize how many things you can see in one picture. Love your videos!!! Have a great day!!

This video is a visual piece of art. The kite flying is breathtaking. Your dog looking up just melts my heart and emphasized the magic of the moment. What a beautiful example of living life to the fullest. Nature is a free and priceless gift. Each breath we take is a miracle. It's so good to be alive. We should never take life for granted.
My favourite part of the video: your dog's face, too cute! Then in regard to the right home has a way of finding you, interesting that in my last video I say ''I choose Tuscany, or rather Tuscany has chosen me''! I was always on the road, really struggling to settle, until I fell in love with Tuscany! That for me was a big deal, as I never really felt connected to any of the places where I lived! But Tuscany has something magical and I really enjoy living here! Great video Paola, you are brilliant and I am always learning so much from you!

Such a gorgeous town. I live just outside a wee little village in Ireland and after three long years we finally have a shop. It's the size of a bedroom but has been life saver for eggs and milk haha.

Theres a town like this a couple miles from where I live and I love it so much. The houses are from the 1800s and theyre beautiful. The stores are attached to one another so you can walk anywhere. It brings my heart so much happiness to see families hanging out in their front porches (which most houses dont have anymore) or sitting outside the buildings or between them. It's an extremely small downtown area but it feels so peaceful.
