He is the most technical and articulate nondual teacher his voice and presence makes me calm and peaceful he's always relaxed.
I’ve read, listened to and talked with so many spiritual teachers in my life. Rupert is THE most, patient, eloquent, meek and selfless one I’ve come across. He’s not a teacher at all, he’s just a kind and loving friend helping us to see our wholeness.
He is my guru. It is somehow Divine Providence.
And I know Rupert would, most likely, say I am wrong in saying this: I just want one chance/opportunity to be with him. And, if that opportunity comes, I want to sit in silence and let him speak.
+Simon Nilsson: Thought is NOT Now, it HAPPENS in the Now. In a TV, for example, the screen wud be the Now and the movie wud be the thoughts. Rupert is not asking anyone to suppress thoughts. We have a Watcher, which CAN watch the thoughts as they occur. When this happens, YOU, the Watcher, ARE IN THE NOW. But normally, the non-stop, automatic thoughts steal the Watcher's Attention, and there's no-one watching the thoughts flow, so you are not in the Now. There are only thoughts flowing non-stop in your head, automatically. When you are present, they don't flow automatically. Either the flow stops or they flow responding to the need of the Watcher. One must experience this to Understand it. Hope this helps!
And in case there's still some wonder, reading / listening to Eckahrt Tolle helps as well.
Is the Watcher different in nature from thoughts? If the Watcher has needs to which the flow of thoughts respond, doesn't that imply that the Watcher is in actually just another thought?
Can you help me with a question: Upon the realization that all that there is is the now, I have discovered that there must only ever be one thought in my experience - thoughts that seemed to have popped up in the past are actually contained within the single thought that I am having now. This discovery implies that thoughts never come and go, and they never truly leave my experience, so who is to say that thoughts are non essential to my being. Experience is the test of reality, and when it is referred to, I find just one single thought that doesn't come and go. In fact, I could go so far as to say that everything in my experience is essential to me, because everything that is currently present just is, and times when I have experienced the absence of these objects are simply contained in a single thought... How do I address this and discover that I am not the objects?
@@garrettdenny3643 I assume you're asking me! What you ask is too complex for me. All I know is that something in me (a "watcher") can see me, like when you recognize yourself in the mirror. The watcher KNOWS that's you! -- This watcher is the gist of who I am and therefore it interests me more than anything else.
It can watch all I do, including my thoughts. Thoughts are NOT who you are.
I hope this helps a little bit. Best of luck.
Thank you. It really helped me
Absolutely loved this video. Thank you so much for this valuable information Rupert. Lots of love from an Australian 🇦🇺❤
"It's
only a thought itself that says that imagines there are lots of other snapshots and then takes these imaginary snapshots and weaves them together into a consistent continuously existing world"

@@garrettdenny3643 The question is: WHO is having that single thought? If the knower is contained within the thought itself, who is the other knower to watch them both? Are there two selves or only one? Or is the true knower external to the single thought object? Untouched by its appearance or disappearance?
06:33 that is one powerful snap
This guy says exactly what I THINK every time.. perfect translator !
Thank you Rupert
precise ! Razor sharp Rupert
This guy continues to blow my mind
No words, only ❤️❤️❤️
Pure gem. Thank you very much
Not absurd. It serves a purpose in helping some change their paradigm of relating to the world.
I am experiencing thought. It is appearing on my screen NOW. Thought is never ABOUT now. It can't be. Thought is about what has already entered a data base.
SavageArfad Thought exists in time. There can be no thought without time. Thoughts, like everything else in creation, are born and then die. Thought and time are inextricably intertwined: you can’t have one without the other. There can be no thought in the present. If you, as you suggest, “think NOW”, you can only be thinking of a concept. “Now”, the present moment, cannot be conceptualised. Mostly we live in a world of concepts, which protect us from the present.
Can you help me with a question: Upon the realization that all that there is is the now, I have discovered that there must only ever be one thought in my experience - thoughts that seemed to have popped up in the past are actually contained within the single thought that I am having now. I love listening to these talks, they are truly meditative and amazing ❤
Thank you!
Powerful
Amazing 🙏🏼✨
Absolutely beautiful explanation - I truly acknowledge the problem with words to describe and explain non-duality - Thank you Rupert - Subscribed!
Creative Nature, Art, Dance, Music... Yes! :D This is why I'm so thrilled about becoming a Transpersonal Arts Counsellor soon.
Wow, i finally understood smth spiritual :o Thoughts are not what actually is
Very eloquently said.
Brilliant
Truth cannot be defined - IT can only be experienced.
Another great one. Having a Rupert splurge.
Beautiful :-)
We are cross connecting different parallel realities we have experienced and my feeling is our thoughts arise from those realities and limit our ability or hinder, to be present.
Just beautiful 😊💖
Love your way of speaking
Stay away from unaware people - you'll spend all your time trying to teach them!
..to teach is to learn
@@mwangi_616 yeah, you learn that you didn't know what you were trying to teach in the beginning! Look, you'll never be able to stay away from unaware people, not in our lifetime. Cheer up!
I had this idea that direct pointing is a way of teaching that has only occurred recently because of technology and how analogous it is with our experience.
Because of our technology, which is just an enhancement of our senses, we are able to connect and exponentially grow and intermingle ideas between cultures, which is ultimately always a mechanism for awakening.
This is riveting. Thought... Only used for practical purposes or creative purposes...since thought is always the past or the future. 😮😊
The mind's ability to create concepts and abstract thought is part of experience too. Of course awareness is present in duality; otherwise, we wouldn't even be able talk about it or be aware of it. If the screen truly is all that exists, then where did all this BS that is the movie come from? And how can the characters in the movie be aware of themselves, and create nifty metaphors about screens and movies to describe the nature of reality?
Thank you....
it actually made a lot of sense, aside from the screen's awareness analogy early on.
one of the best ones
There is the sky,and the thoughts are like the passing clouds.Sky is not effected by the clouds.Non - attachment.
We always come back to square one, after all the complex analysis. In the end, you either get it or you don’t. So, that is why, traditionally, you sit in a cave, keep your mouth shut, breathe and eat as little as possible, until you either get it, or you don’t. But, Rupert’s path is more tolerable, because he immediately divorces first AWARNESS, from everything else as the first tenet. This, in and of itself can greatly relieve suffering, and allows one to extricate oneself from the dizzying, spinning wheel. At least that much has been done, before one can eventually reintegrate Awareness and Experience into Oneness. Discipline of changing focus is employed here, but ultimately, GRACE is the final means of liberation.
Would love to hear Ruperts view on psychopathic thinking ie EMPATHY or rather a total lack of it.
amazing ... thx

Thought is Now,
Now Is Now
Thought is Not some obstacle we need to remove.
Simon, please see my reply to Empty, above.
He means the content of thought is not now. Its usually a memory or analysis of the past, or a prediction of the future. Now can't be thought and experienced at the same time.
In thought is duality, in the absence of thought is Non-Duality. In thought is time, in the absence of thought is Eternity.
Indescribable thank u
Everything is now
can someone please explain to me if this relates to what is experienced under the influence of LSD when the time freezes and the current moment is felt like an eternity? Thanks,
The sun rises and sets like clockwork, independent of our own will or awareness. Isn't this a natural source for our intuition of time? I believe that this predictable motion shows that there is indeed an objective nature of time (sequence and cause and effect), which is grounded in the physics of the universe. I may be missing the point here, but this is a thought that occurs to me when I try to understand some of the ideas in this video.
Enjoy the movie
"We don't insult experience by reducing it to a number of concepts or objects."
These flowers have not even bloomed.
what about tinnitus ? theres always a ringing in my head. even with no thought. is it a thought within itself? i can never truly hear silence does that affect my ability to experience the ever present moment ?
The experience of ringing is there, but nothing can overwhelm true silence. Because without this silence/stillness, awareness of your experience would be impossible. Let's say you walk through a busy shopping street. Are you aware of ALL that is going on there? No, you are only aware of what you give your attention. Otherwise, you would get mad. Effectively, all that you were not aware of, really wasn't there for you.
If you would give less or no attention to your tinnitus, it would not bother you and effectively be greatly diminished for you. We create our reality with our belief in thoughts of the lack thereoff.
I have had this tinnitus for over thirty five years and have accepted the fact that it will never subside. Try this. Focus only on the experience of the tinnitus and consider it to be the gateway to the infinite consciousness. It will change into some other sound and think of it as a call to your awareness. The last thing you want to do is to try and make it go away. Focus just on the peace and happiness that stillness will bring. The less stress and grievances you have, the quieter it becomes.
The words are pointers.
Because you don't agree it is nonsense? It makes perfect sense to me. Your comment would be more accurately stated as "I don't agree."
2 points is 2 dimensions, 3 points is 3 dimensions that is in apparent time and space and 1 point, 1 light, 1 being does not use time and space ...
,🌺🌟♥️☀️
look at all the ego's leaving comment's. LOL JK. When your input is no longer of Importance to yourself. You won't post anything. hahahaa
+J.R. Goldman So your more infinite than the rest of us, LOL
7 chakras chant
Not necessarily.
But....and I hate to state the obvious, you've just made a comment. So still ruled by the ego then.
I would disagree. The Buddha and Jesus left their mark on the world in their teachings, just as Rupert is. We can rest in awareness as we move into the world.
Time is an illusion.
Yet, he wears a watch.
Interesting.
You probably did not listen until 6:20, I am afraid.
You think NOW but "already" not about now.
Is thought not an experience?
i think thought can be experienced but is not the experiencer
the one that experience the experience.
