I love all the comments and the wonderful reception this video has gotten!! However I actually made a mistake during one of my points. In the video I said that Neptune, Noire, and Blanc were all made for that failed cooperative collaboration project, while Vert had to be designed from the ground up for Hyperdimension Neptunia. Well it was actually Neptune who had to be made from scratch for the new scope of the game!
Nice video, my dude. I needed this since it seems like all the Nep fanbase wants to do these days is complain. Didn't know about the "idea box" tidbit. Makes the name "Idea Factory" make a lot of sense now. I would love to see a video about the beta designs for the characters, I've seen bits and pieces of them, but that's about it.
Did people ever consider that maybe we complain for more than the sake of it? That maybe Neptunia has been hollowed out and empty in meaning? Agarest is better, hands down.
Neptunia is a game franchise with a lot of highs and a lot of lows. Lows being things like Megatagmension, Neptunia Victory and the Senran Crossover. Highs being things like The Conquest Ending, the Original Game and all its glory, and Megadimension VII. Superdimension Neptune vs Sega Hard Girls. Super Nep RPG. Those two are also phenomenal.
The unused designs are a pretty amazing. There's hundreds of them and the majority are pretty fantastic. I'm pretty sure there was even a sketch of what was essentially Big Nep during Mk2's development. Really cool to see the idea was floating around a few years before she actually became a character. Then there's even いるはーと who supposedly came from a scrapped design lol.
You, Sir, are a very underrated RUclipsr. On the topic of that video: I always thought it weird, that the music in the Neptunia games was so controversial, but Neptunia 1's soundtrack is really not the best. All later installments are doing a lot better in terms of music imo. Especially VII and the other newer entries.
3:07 You got it backwards, it was originally Noire, Blanc and Vert, with Neptune being added last minute during development when the game shifted from Fantasy to Sci-fi. Noire, Blanc and Vert still have aspects of their original design, aesthetic and themes; The three of them retain their princess-like design and aesthetic, their names are based on the French translations of colors, Black, White and Green. Neptune was added last minute since none of her early concept art shows any form of princess-like aesthetic and her name is based off of any French color (which probably would've been Purple, or Violette in French)
How do you only have 60 subs? I thought I was watching a video from a pretty large neptunia channel, great work! plus I would love to see a video on the old character designs
Thank you man that's so nice of you to say! I'm working on a couple other video ideas right now and then i'll be coming back to look at the old neptunia designs, so that's definitely coming soon!!
Showing pretty girls is sexist, huh? Or in more plain terms: "it bothers me to se hot chicks cause I'm a lazy land whale". It's called projecting, dear reviewers. That's why most people don't read/Watch mainstream "reviews"
I highly doubt that one line was what gave Mk2 the M rating. Surely if it was that simple, they would have just replaced that line to avoid getting an M rating.
"touch me histy"- noble, 2015
Haha
Hahahhah lol killme

Glad you enjoyed my guy, i'd love to make a video about early designs and will probably do so in the near future :)

I didn't even think about the name Idea Factory until you mentioned it. That's actually really neat!

I lvoe this video thank you, big nep fan but all 10 surprised me :3 o: yay
Can we see a video of their old designs
Am I weird for liking some of the original games music more? Though I agree the gameplay was kind of awful except the cutscenes
Screw the press, if theyre not fans of the game theyre welcome to not play it. We fans didnt for a second share their dislike of the game.
Did you know Neptunia is named after the planet: Neptune?
