Thank you! Wonderful performance! I am extremely honored you shared my music with your audience. Keep up your magnificent playing! I wish you all the best! Samuel R. Hazo🎶
I played this in high school 15 years ago. I wasn't first chair, so I didn't get the alto sax solo. However, I learned it fun anyways. I did play Perthshire majesty as well as first chair. Thanks for helping me create such beautiful memories.
Holy cow, man. My high school is playing this and I am learning to double tongue just for it (it's hard) ((flute)). This piece is really cool, thank you for making it :)
Being in band in when I was a kid and in college, absolutely loved Samuel Hazo. When you saw that he wrote the music. You knew it was going to be a very fun song to play
Best recording of the piece I've heard so far. Some say it lacked power, but the blend of the ensemble was beautiful. Each articulation felt crisp and precise. Very glad to finally hear a good rendition of Ride!!!
Great band. A lot of comments say it lacks power. If you look at the score, Hazo specifies the tempo as "exactly 167" and in the performance notes he says this is because if its any less than that it loses it's forward momentum. I clicked along with a met and this performance was in the mid 150s for most of it and got to around 160 at the faster tempo towards the end. It's amazing what just 10 bpm will do to the character of a piece.
Nice performance! But the video editor didn't include a close-up on the sax for their solo? You show the conductor instead? Now, if no one had the forethought to have a camera on the solo sax, i can excuse the editor, otherwise, criminal..and I'm a trombone...
On a side note: while I know that the shows of most Drum//Bugle Corps tend to go between multiple songs, this is one song that I feel could be played in its entirety and the audience wouldn't feel that they'd been shorted...
Great performance considering - if the conductor doesn't chicken out, we're going to perform it with 2 run-throughs (about 10 min) tonight. No risk, no fun und Mut zur Luecke!

I’m playing your piece in band right now, the tuba part is fun

Exactly
Great recording , terrible video production . 1:30 the solo saxophone not to be seen! 😂

Really enjoyed listening to this. Trying to prep this piece. Thank you.

Muitos parabéns! Excelente execução!
Bravo, bravíssimo!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏...
It's very accurate - but lacks power

Is it bad that I still remembered the entire finger chart for French horn a decade later after I played at Symphony Hall?
Sweet nostalgia
faster!
Its incredible but the tempo is slowing down
Too slow for you? Adjust the playback speed.
Sure the tempo could be better. but besides that this is truly an amazing song.
Are the notes translated into Portugese?
Lol he slowed down the tempo
Just one hour of rehearsal, we had to play it carefully :)
One hour? The fuck? Is the heroine epidemic that bad there?

The audience should not clap so early.... The last part is supposed to have percussion ringing
It don’t matter that much
where is the shaping? this sounds boring.
Pretty good! Percussion could use a little work though
Way too loud during the sax solo. Other than that great recording
bruh my high school played it faster
This group plays it the right speed. Your teacher prolly wanted to show off to anyone who knew the song
So what’s your point?? They still sound good and in tune.
and in case you didn't notice THAT IS A HIGH SCHOOL
They only rehearsed this song for one hour.. did your highschool do that?
lol this band rehearsed for ONE HOUR you probably had months
🤬🤬🤬🤬
