Here is a link to the actual trailer that we will eventually put the cabin on. Very happy with it. amzn.to/2S4l3B9
Spectacular excelent
I get so much information for my build from your wealth of knowledge, if you have time take a look at my build I could use some advice I'm a third of the way thru
I am looking at the 5×8 Ironton trailer as well for my build, any issues? Did you shim under the floor to compensate for the small lip where the cross member meets the frame rail? Awesome build, binge watched it today and would love to see a finished walk through.
Hi. Thanks for watching. No, no issues at all. We were very pleased with the trailer. Maybe a little tight on the axle, but it's a sprung axle, so that's to be expected. We have a torflex axle on my other trailer, so it's much smoother, but also much heavier. We did shim a bit in those areas, but really not that worried about it. Just in the middle where the floor would tend to sag a bit when crawling around on your knees in the camper. I guess we could have put some sealent under it, but wanted be able un unbot it easily if needed.
Did you use SketchUp as way to plan your build? If you did, which version did you use? Good video.
Can you make one with a splendid easier and 19 feet long?
A Limousine of teardrops...sweet!

Where do you get the trim
I bought all of my trim from Vintage Technologies. They have most of the teardrop specific parts that I used.
how much will all the materials cost from start to finish?
After it's all said and done, about 3500-4K. Thanks for watching.
That varies from region to region, if you have to hire a person to do something specialized such as welding on the frame, electric and so on. WHAT materials you choose to use also has a huge impact on total cost.
Keep your eye out for campers headed for the dump to save some coin.
I have an old snowmobile trailer which is looking like it will be my frame.
I have an old insert trailer which is shot, but the appliances are good so they will be used inside, as will the frame for a slide out bed, cabinets etc.
Honestly I just wanted someone to haul mine away before I decided to try this build.
Lots of people doing the same or for next to nothing.
FYI everyone. The trailer is the easy part . Harbor freight has a 1700 # one cheap
3/4” plywood is around 75# per sheet
Use 3/4 on the floor , and smaller elsewhere.
Nice tutorial 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
maybe I an just a numpty but radius " 24 from the top 24" from the bottom doesn't make sense to me.
24" from top to 24" from side. From center of radius to that point should be 24"
How much do you sell the plans for I want one 16 feet long with headroom and I don't want it on a trailer because I want to use it as a hunting camp on my land
HI. I don't currently sell plans for it. If you are interested, checkout tnttt.com There are a lot of resources there that will enable you to come up with a plan that fits your needs.
Definitely "ramble."
What does it weigh?
I will weigh about 1100 lbs when complete.
Dad Rambles how do you check the weight, because I want to make something bigger but don't want to exceed 3000 pounds?
It's sort of experience and knowing how it's constructed, and comparing to others that are similar. Did you see my other video of the "regal eagle"? It's very heavy, and is only about 1850 lbs dry weight. Do you have plans yet for what you want to build?
what size trailer do you have here?
+deney harmon it is a 5 by 8 Northern Tool trailer.

Mnogo pricas bolje da si napisao dimenzije zbog nas koji neznamo engleski pozdrav
I didn’t understand a word you said.
Which part? Where can i help you?
Why put any curves in at all? A rectangle gives you more volume for the same footprint and makes for a much easier build.
+JPVegh looks... I could definitely have built a "box" easier and with more room... But this had more style. It's a balance.
Dad Rambles Workshop I see your point but for me function is more important than form and has an aesthetic quality of its own. That said I can definitely appreciate what you've done here.
Thank you. Yeah that's what i really like about the "creative" side of designing campers. Very rarely do you see 2 exactly the same. We have been to quite a few teardrop gatherings and it's always interesting to see the different designs.
The added benefit behind the curves beyond aesthics is airflow. You get far better airflow and thus gas mileage with a curved surface that air can go around rather than just a box shape.
John Cashion no doubt, it is a trade off, mpg or volume.
