  • Renault Malaysia has been hard at work bringing up the brand in Malaysia. With the Renault Megane RS created a fan following, the Fluence established new after sales standards with their door to door servicing, and then the Clio and Captur was introduced, and now the Koleos joining in giving more options. I have to say, for such a small brand that sells about 600 cars a year; Renault Malaysia has established a rather good impression amongst owners for their great after sales service, and having 14 nationwide after sales service centres really does help owners in trusting the brand. This Renault Clio take more than hiding the rear door handles in the C-pillar to
    give the impression of a coupe, but even discounting the hyperbole it’s
    an altogether more dynamic-looking car. It same goes to Hyundai Veloster Mk1 2012 & Honda HR-V.

    We have already the redesigned version here in France. New LED lights and interior quality is improved. Really Great. You should try it when it comes in your country.

    Driven this car when it first launched in October 2015. Get past the plasticky feel inside, it's a very quirky, nicely put together, yet easy to use car. To drive it, one should think of it as a sorta warm hatch, which isnt gonna set times alight, yet swift and nice for daily use. Its just a shame about the mad pricing, no thanks to the fact that its imported from Turkey. Oh, and four airbags only, which is a dissappointment too.

    In the end Tan Chong quit selling the Renault cars and only focusing on their crossovers & SUVs. The thing that Tan Chong screws up so badly is pricing - the Clio was too expensive at 100K.
    They're doing the same thing with the Captur too!

  • @jun_suzuki42

    Renault Captur also using the same gearbox, and it is the only disadvantages of that car let me down so much.
    The car itself looks exciting, but the gearbox acting like old man and so many weird noises when shifting gears. Moving out from a junction to merge into the highway takes so much efforts to push the car.
    Everything is well built (exception with the door card which has white staining since the first day), only the gearbox.
    Even Renault salesman and Tan Chong service centers said it is normal.

    Hello,
    In France we can get this car with a manual 6 speed which is way better, Is it possible in your contry ?
    I myself have the 2017 0.9 TCE version with a 5 speed manual, a better touch screen with more functions, better and cooler seats and LED lights. Oh and I also have park assist which makes the park it self !
    I love this car !

      +Guillaume D sadly we dont. I love the handling of this car it bests the Fiesta in my opinion. And i love renaults in general. We had a 1997 Scenic back then, and that car is so reliable and comfortable.

    Hi Bobby, thanks for the indepth review. I realy appreciate your accuracy of describing. I consider buying it as repacing my ciptuned citroen C1 2010 for the clio with gt look. Done a testdrive, and I agree on you about the transmition though. I hope chiptuning the boardcomputer will solve the delay. Then it would be perfect for me.

    hahaha, in UK the speaker sound system is BOSE~
    (i think it's just look normal for everyone bout the air cond, but you... ...lol)
    Handbrake part that split is easy for service/repair(no need tear out the whole part), and of cause not fit for the can drinks, is because designed for cup coffee~cheerss lol
    but....not worth for the spec~

    Hi, how you compare this car to the peugeot 208 puretech in terms of power, handling, suspension and legroom? Thanks Bobby

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  6 лет назад +1

      +Kevin kkv puretech seems a better engine in terms of power, how it sounded and how it responses. Handling wise, both are sharp, peugeot has a tad better steering feel. Suspension wise both are great but the clio has this wonderful balance. Transmission is what kills this clio, lousy lousy lousy dual clutch. Legroom similar even though clio looked larger. Interior finishing peugeot better. Exterior design i think peugeot is prettier but clio seems a bit sportier whereas the peugeot is classier.

    Bobby, able to find out if Renault intends to launch any of the new Megane range here? I doubt they will, not even the sedan? Now that the Fluence is reaching the end of its life cycle.....

    • @konwailuen5018
      @konwailuen5018 7 лет назад

      Megane saloon highly possible, hatch most likely not. The Fluence, as in the current generation, is the last of its kind and it will be replaced by the new Mk4 Megane Saloon. Retiring the nameplate for good.

    • @chuakz
      @chuakz 7 лет назад

      Yes. Sedan already launched elsewhere. Wonder when will we finally get it here. Would be good if they at least bring in the hatch/wagon on per order basis.

      I mean the parking brakes, it should be disc brake for the price in Malaysia at least

    • @guillaumed1691
      @guillaumed1691 6 лет назад

      I don't know what your talking about. I have had 2 Clio 4, I put 38 000 km on the first one that I bought in 2014 and 6 000 Km in the new one I bought this summer.
      I never had a single problem, parking in steep roads or driving it flat out.
      Why put heavier and more expensive disc brakes if good drum brakes does the job ?

    • @hoverzap
      @hoverzap 6 лет назад

      ok I don't want to argue. I didn't hate the car, just for the price in Malaysia disc brake is a nice extra. here in Malaysia this exact car starting price is RM118,000 (24,536€).

    Is this car's handling as good as the Ford Focus? Coz, by adding just another 10K, one can get 60 more horsepower, independent rear suspension and a more reliable torque converter transmission. Please help me choose between these two cars, my priority is handling. Thank you.
