amazing comparing man i always love the 1999 version especially the Yorknew City Arc and the hunter exam
The song you couldn't find from the 1999 scene is called "Panorama" from The Nash Music Library.
I can see why that both of the anime adaptations are different from each other,
Hunter x Hunter (1999) has perfect pacing.
Hunter x Hunter (2011)
is like almost bare bone minimum pacing.
I still like both, there fantastic versions.

Yeah I agree with you, as for as (character devolempent) that's clearly the manga's job and it will be a very terrible thing if the anime interfere in that particular category, but little (character details/characretzation/comedy scene/emotional scene) add fillers here and there it can be a very huge thing if it done the right way like the 1999 did, I love the amazing 2011 version it did more than it job and for that I give 11 out of 10, however I still prefer the original

Glad I found your channel again. This time I subscribed. At time 3:30 you may have misspoken. You seemed to imply 1999 did not include Greed Island. That is only partially true. The broadcast 1999 episodes spanned halfway into York New City, at which point they had caught up to the manga. But over the next few years there were three OVA series of about 10 episodes each. The first completed the York New City Arc. The second two cover the first and second halves of Greed Island.
r0kus Haha yeah I know this I need to buy the ovas on dvd somehow still. Know there not really separate coz still done by Nippon animation but I still like to separate them as 1999 aired on tv in Japan while ovas were obviously video releases

@@OneEyedKing yeah like all the Phantom Troupe members just die that's why the 2011 anime starting from the beginning because there's no way to continue it because all those characters that died
But we still get the text from Hisoka to kurapika that the bodies are fake. So then when you watch the ovas the story continues from right where the 1999 version finished. Honestly don’t think this is a problem

I really didn't like how Killua felt the need to kill the cub. It felt like it was done just because. But I loved it because Mito showing that she is still one of the best characters in the series despite her short screen time. At least in 1999.
I noticed during a critic on HxH's yorknew city arc that Melody exist on to tell us what Kurapika is feeling. He was mainly refering to 2011 and I don't know if I like their interaction at all. But the 1999 version kinda made their interaction feel more natural. But I guess I need to rewatch it to get a better idea.
M3rtyville kurapika didn’t interact with melody in 2011 until meeting with the other bodyguards at the mansion and 1999 only made them meet just before on the train
Like melody in 1999 is introduced at the end of heavens before start of yorknew at the same agency kurapika goes to find Hunter work
killua think that it will suffer in pain longer if they will just let it be. Its called Euthanasia
Killua being like that, is actually not out of character at all in 1999 ver. HxH 1999 has this depressing side story about Killua's past, published in both fanbook and Drama CD:Hunters in Wonderland.
So basically, when Killua was a little kid, he asked his father to let him take care of a puppy. His father let him, and Killua named the puppy, 'Wulf'. But turned out Wulf was infected by rabies. Silva told killua to kill it. Of course, killua refused, and said he would tend Wulf until it recovered. But Silva convinced killua that Wulf wouldn't make it alive. The best way to relieve its suffering was by killing it. And it must be done by killua himself, because he was Wulf's master. Killua was crying as he refuted. Silva snapped and said he would do the same to Killua, had killua suffered the same disease as the puppy (wtf, Silva).
Killua stopped crying after he killed Wulf. But we can assume his father's teaching had permeated into him since that day

hey dude how do you watch the 1999 version? I really wanna see it again but i can only find it on kiss.anime which is pretty scetch. If there's another way though i would really appreciate being able to know.
I bought the complete set about 3 years ago for around $100-120aud. Now the price has skyrocketed. Besides buying the sets there’s no legal streaming but I’m sure you can find them online somewhere. Kissanime also got shutdown.

are you sure Gon and Killua are already in Yorkshin City, in that part when they go to the Internet Cafè? Given the italian city aesthetics (some places are literally places from Rome and Florence) I always thought they were in another place
