    As a cell tower tech for the big three I can proudly say I love working with these cranes. I can rely on them to keep me safe while I work in dangerous conditions.

    At 2.00 - 2.05 there is a major error, the LTM 1300 6.2 can not lift/handle 300 tons at maximum jib extention at 114 meters, The crane can only lift 300 tons at a maximum of 14.7 meters from the center and only over the back of the crane when the hoistline is no more than 3 meters from the center of the boom, with the maximum capacity of counterweights at 96 ton and no extention of the mainboom. If u use the maximum jib avalible u cant extend the mainboom beyond 43.9 meters and u will add 70 meters of jib to a total height of 114 meters and the hook will operat at a maximum of 112 meters, up there u will have a maximum capacity of 2.9 tons in a radius of 32 meters. All of this is fully transcribed in the factsheet for the crane at the end where u will find the liftsheets the most important paperwork there is when working with cranes.. Considering the time taken to make the video it would be a good thing to put some effective time on research before making the plot.

      It is the wording of the narrator. It can lift 300 tons and can extend 114 meters. Does not say at the same time.

    Fascinating how the boom compensates for the load weight angle before a lift

    • @LordGizmo
      @LordGizmo  2 года назад

      We agree! There's a lot that goes into lifting heavy things, especially when you want to do it safely.

    The info on 9:29 about the telematic is wrong. The boom section doesn't need to be exteded to the maximum length. There are locking pins and 46%, 92% and 100% and the boom section must be extended and locked in one of these positions before the hydraulic cylinder can be retracted to extend the next section.

      Thanks a ton for the information! Oversight on our part; we'll try our best to avoid errors like that in the future (though we're sure they'll come!) It makes sense that you wouldn't want to necessarily get the full length of any segment; it would theoretically reduce the strength. Thanks for letting us know!

      Obviously interested in the prime movers of large mines such as the excavators, dump trucks etc, but think it would be interesting to see how the material is processed after it's tipped in the plant through to the end product of for example a gold mine.

    This isn’t the story of their cranes. It’s about their cranes.

  • @andrewrees8749

    Is there a lifting formula for cranes, I often see massive cranes lifting light loads, or is it the radius of the load from the cranes ,centre point ? big road projects going on near me in S Wales U.k ,

    • @LordGizmo
      @LordGizmo  Год назад +1

      Radius, height, and weight are the major factors in deciding which crane to use for what project. Who knows, it could be what it's lifting is way heavier than it looks. Or, it's so far away that it influences the tipping point. Hope that helps!

    • @aerialrescuesolutions3277
      @aerialrescuesolutions3277 Год назад +1

      Andrew, there are load charts and spec sheets that go into great detail about most, if not all the situations a specific crane is designed to operate. When you know the exact model and type of crane you are using, all the data is available for you to read and understand. I hope this helps you. Jim
