First and foremost, I would like to appreciate all the hard work you and your team put in for students. It has been a great help !!
I would love to get clarity on the following questions:
1. What MBA specialization should I opt for to build a career in management consulting in order to work at the big 3 management firms ?
2. Which universities/colleges/schools in the UK would be suitable for the above course ?
3. Lastly, what other short courses related to management can I pursue along with graduation ? (during my articleship years while doing CA)
1. Management consulting requires a broad range of skills. So having a general management focus should be fine.
2. We have a video on the top MBA programs in UK. Check that out.
3. Short courses don't generally count much in terms of CV improvement. So choose any that you're really interested in, and not to enhance the resume.

It doesn't matter much what you select. Just ensure you get good grades (from a top MBA where consulting firms hire) and polish up on your case interviewing skills. Both are important to get into the elite consulting firms.

All good international MBA programs expect work experience. We don't recommend applying as a fresher. Work for a few years, build your profile and then apply.

Sir my goal is to work for the Top Consulting firms. I am going to do my Bachelors from Poland. Could you please suggest which Bachelors would be the best - CS/IT, Business Administration or Management ??
We aren't familiar with bachelors degrees in Poland, or how consulting firms view them. But most top consulting in the world do expect excellent problem solving and analytical skills. And a general idea of how businesses work. So, other than academics, focus on developing those skills and knowledge too.
Thanks a lot for this very helpful and informative video. Can you please post more videos about career in International Business?

International MBA programs are designed for 'international business'. None of the top bschools positions itself as a degree only for local businesses.
How are freshers (with zero experience treated) in the placement drives of decent B schools... Also... if I have a blog in which I have some decent success through organic SEO and social media marketing, will I have an edge over other graduates. One last question I have is that should I keep working hard on this blog or look for other internships (in marketing, which I'm interested in) to have a better CV.
PS- I know I asked around 3 questions in one comment.. But it would be really helpful if you could answer it briefly 😊
Almost all companies have requirements for fresh graduates. It helps to show experience and skills in a related field. So, your website/SEO experience could be helpful for a digital marketing role. But not for management consulting roles. If you're interested in marketing, try getting a marketing internship in the company you are interested in.

After doing a certification in Management consulting ,can I expect a package of 18-20 LPA in India??
Top paying consulting jobs usually expect a premium MBA degree from a reputed bschool. Doing a certification is generally not very effective, unless you're aiming for backoffice jobs. Do you know anyone who gets that salary with a certificate course?
I am Fire and safety engineer having 6 years of experience in large manufacturing companies like Reliance petrochemical and currently in Tata motors.
I have received job offer as Catastrophe underwriting in Accenture.
It will good or bad as Fire and safety professional. Please Reply.
If Accenture has offered you that position, then they must surely see a good fit with your skills. And the fact that you applied for it, must mean you've done your homework on how it fits your career goals. Not sure why there's a confusion now. Can you please clarify?
I have completed my CA and have a work experience of 1.5 years. I am planning to appear for the CAT next year. But I am already 27 years of age and by the time I am done with the course I will be 29.
Therefore I am confused whether it will be worth doing or not.
I plan to do the regular MBA for 2 year from India.
From our perspective, it's too late for you to consider CAT MBA programs. Most folks in your age bracket find GMAT MBA programs to be a better fit. If you have strong reasons to do so, make sure you get in touch with others who were in a similar situation. They'll be able to share the ground realities in a better way.
I'm currently a final year student pursuing my undergraduate in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). What recommendations would you give me going forward in the MBA, with regards to the specialization in becoming a management consultant?
The first and basic recommendation that we always have is to gain some work experience before going for an MBA. For careers in management consulting, it is important to have a perspective on how businesses work. And if you've never worked in one before, it's difficult to tell others how to fix their problems. Would you agree?
Hello Sir,
Your videos are incredibely well..
I want to ask a question..
I am in grade 9 right now and I still have almost 10-12 years for doing mba..
What do you think ?
Which countries will be best for doing mba regarding to job & salary prospective in 2030 or 2032...?
And will mba still worth in upcoming 10-15 years?
Good to see you thinking about this so early. Given the uncertainty around Corona, it's tough to predict what happens 10 years later. Focus on doing well in your studies for now, without worrying about an MBA.
Sir I had a doubt. How benefit does a CA AND MBA will be into Management consultancy? Will a CA be ahead of other Mba graduates? Or CA degree doesn't help into the field of management consultancy?
Will be waiting for your reply sir 😊
Once you get in, it doesn't matter if you have an MBA or CA qualification, you'll have to learn pretty much from scratch and learn most of the things on the job.

While we've seen 3-year degree graduates getting in, it can be difficult. Mainly because many of the elite consulting firms have their favourite hunting grounds i.e programs (like top bschools) where they recruit regularly. If your program doesn't fall in that list you could still consider other (non front office) roles in consulting firms, and try to gain the relevant experience.

I have a difficult decision to make. I have approximately 8 years in IT and i want to make a career in strategy consulting in technology. I have admits from IIMA Pgpx and IIMC MBAEx. I'm currently waiting for IIMB results but I am not sure which program is the best for me. Some insights would be really helpful
Congrats on the admits. Before we share our views, a few quick questions to understand your position. Based on your evaluation, which one do you think is a better it and why? What score did you apply with? Didn't consider international MBA programs?
@@MBACrystalBall Thank you for responding. I actually have mixed views on all three. My GMAT score is 710 and I didn't apply to any of the International programs. When it comes to IIMs, everyone knows IIMA is the best because of its brand and legacy, but at the same time, the one year program of IIMB has been consistently ranked above ISB and IIMA for the past few years. To add to that, the curriculum design of IIMB's EPGP looks a lot more focused and diverse to me compared to IIMA's PGPX. It's very difficult to make a decision because I have asked a few students from the current batch of A and B and as expected, the folks from A favor A and the folks from B favor B. Some insights would really be helfpul.
If you had asked us the question before shortlisting programs, we'd have strongly encouraged you to consider international programs too, more so after considering your post MBA goals. Check out our video on MBA in India vs abroad to get more insights into why we might make that suggestion. Coming back to your current situation, if you've made up your mind to choose between the offers in hand, we'd go with IIMA. It's primarily a branding and perception related call, we'll admit. However, on the perception point, also keep in mind that 1 year programs from IIMs still haven't got the same acceptance as their formidable 2-year programs. So, don't just rely on the brand to get a foot in the door.
@@MBACrystalBall Thank you for the quick response. I initially did consider Singapore B-Schools but because of personal reasons I had to drop the plan of going abroad. I do understand that international programs are much better but unfortunately I have to go with what I have. How would you rate the one-year programs of IIM A,B,C?
As mentioned earlier, we'd put IIMA at the top, followed by the other two.
Sir video is awesome, can you please tell us like a mechanical b tech graduate can pursue mba if yes in which category 🙌🙌🙌 please reply
Yes, an MBA after mechanical engineering isn't uncommon. You can choose any elective that's aligned with your longer term goals. It doesn't have to be related to the mechanical space.
Will A work experience in Consulting Management pose problem or add to an advantage for admission in top B- Schools for MBA Consulting?
That would depend on which consulting firm you've been working with, and why you need an MBA. For instance, McKinsey consultants go to Harvard and then join back the firm.
@@MBACrystalBall What about companies like Capegemini and KPMG.
Are they good to go for B-Schools like LBS and Insead?
Sure, but again, it depends on what you've done there. If it's IT consulting, then you'd be part of the most common applicant pool struggling to differentiate yourself from the competition.

Do top companies like MBB or Big4 consider Pharma grad + MIM profile for consulting?
and do I have to 2yr full time MBA in future?
Consulting firms recruit graduates from a variety of backgrounds for analyst level positions. So in theory, yes, you could use an MiM to transition into MBB or Big 4. But without any relevant experience or skills it can be more difficult for freshers to get into the industry.

And is the job market welcoming in the UK? I'm a post graduate in management and have an experience of about 16 months post that. Please advise.
If you apply this year, you'll have more than 2 yrs experience which makes you a bit of an outlier for both MiM as well as MBA programs. Getting a job abroad is always difficult, even though UK has eased its work permit policies.

Sir, Can CEC student will become a Management consultant?
Can you explain what's CEC?

But sir I want to know about how I can do mba from world’s top ivy leagues. As everyone is having a dream to study from these elite group of universities like oxford , Cambridge etc so can you please help me out that how an academically average student like me can get into these ivy leagues...?
Elite universities look for several other aspects other than academics. If one aspect hasn't worked for you, focus on the others and build your profile first, before applying. We have another video on how to build your profile. Check that out.

Another amazing video from MBACrystal Ball. Thank you to the team for this informative video! Do you have any thoughts on consulting in automotive industry?
Management consultants in top tier firms are generally 'sector agnostic'. They move from one industry to another based on project and staffing needs. There's enough inhouse expertise in sectors such as automative that new consultants can tap into before and during the project. Unless you're referring to niche industry focused consulting that tends to be far more technical, and less business related.
I've done my btech from local college and mtech from iit. Now I want to get into MBA programs like Harvard and wharton will the reputation of my old college affect my chances of being accepted
Bschools are aware of the difference between a Btech and MTech from IIT. So yes, the undergrad degree will also matter during admissions.
Do I have any chance of getting into clgs like ivy league like a guy from tier 2 or tier3 college

Base salary after completing MBA in Strategic Mgmt in Schulich B School of Canada is good enough for paying of student loans?
Assuming you get a good consulting job in Canada, it can still take several years to pay off the student loan.
That means pay is not that high !? Even if I take a loan in INR and still it takes many years to pay of the loan so will the hardwork and dedication be worth it!?
Despite the high pay, you still have to take into account the high tax rates and the high cost of living. That eats into the pie.

You can apply for entry level (analyst) roles in consulting with non-MBA degrees. Also a good idea to first check the recruiter list for your target program. If you don't see a sizeable number of grads getting hired by your dream companies in previous years, that's a sign that things won't be easy for you either.
