I did the same today on my i-5 4570 with a gtx-1660 and it worked perfectly. Didn’t do the skipping of updates though, but it seems to be working, so all seems fine.

Yup, this method works perfectly well .. however, Win11 may not be for everyone .. I found 23H2 to be sluggish, unpolished and full of bloat .. also booting up took much longer than before .. so I went back to Win10 and can say it works much better than this new thing .. but as always , that's just my personal experience and not the ultimate truth 😉

I updated my laptop to windows 11 a year ago, and I don't like it. It's hard to customize win 11, like the taskbar, icons, etc.

Only one problem with this process. Not only does the registry contain all the stuff for Windows 11, it also still has all the Windows 10 crap in there. Do a format C:\ and a clean install.

It could take anything between 1/2 hour upto 3 hours, on ssd it is usually quicker 👍

There are backfires to this. It turns out that if your PC does not support atleast the minimum requirements, then your PC will no longer receive updates from Microsoft.
So that's mean not update to our pc?

@@ianmaiyo yes, there is a fix for this ianmaiyo. You need to get your PC to have enough ram in it and the correct processor. Your processor should atleast be Gen 8 or higher for running Windows 11 good enough. Without that, even running the basics like opening your browser will take a long time

It should work fine for the upgrade and will receive the quarterly quality and security updates.
Not sure about the gaming performance issues or yearly feature updates from Microsoft, those updates you may have to manually download and install👍

I'm doing it now but at the "choose what to keep", can only choose "nothing" and "keep personal files only". The first option "keep files, settings, and apps" is not selectable. I'll try with second option.

@@VitalTechHelper I already installed win 11, all works fine and great. Few weeks ago i installed win 10 fresh, so can't upgrade to 11 even though tried many ways including change registry. None of them works. Your guide works perfectly out of the box. The only thing i lost is the apps and bookmarks, luckily i saved them before. Thanks 👍

Can I ask what is "product server"?
The /product server switch is telling the Windows 11 installer that it installs a server edition of the operating system. Despite that, it was actually installing a client version, i.e. Pro or Home.
Windows Server doesn't have such strict limitation on the CPU model, and doesn't yet check the presence of TPM.
But I think Microsoft is beginning to block it in future updates.

What version of Windows 10 are you upgrading? You might try upgrading your Windows 10 to version 23H2 first. The current Windows 11 download version is 23H2. It seems to make the transition easier with no Microsoft downloads required.
