    I remember some online comments were people were complaining that the “rich foreigners” were buying their way in, among other comments (a few years ago). Nice to see you prove them wrong.

    Words can't describe how much I love this

    I love how much the vaganova method uses the head direction even through the barre. It’s nothing like any method I’ve studied over the years. I’ve been doing a lot of Balanchine with my students recently & that method uses barely any head movement during barre.

    Thank you for sharing this. Incredibly interesting. I think it is striking how you were afraid to tell your teacher you were hurting. It's the best school in the world, however, if they could have an atmosphere that would make dancers feel okay about sharing they're injured or injuring themselves doing the class, it would make the school even better, thus able to prevent serious injuries.

    • @balletwithisabella
      @balletwithisabella  3 года назад +37

      Tbh I was already a little afraid from my last experience at the royal ballet school. They were very unforgiving towards my growing pains and I hear it’s better now but at the time it wasn’t good at all
      The Vaganova were Better dealing with injuries. Although they didn’t have great facilities they were great at being caring. Of course if you get serious injured like I did, it’s unfortunate of course and not ideal at all but it does happen. My teacher was extremely caring and would call me every week while I rehabbed in England.
      The RBS used to cause me so much stress and would barely let me rest and not without huge guilt. Like I say it’s better now thank goodness as young bodies need chance to heal sometimes. 😊 Thank you for your support. More to come ❤️

    Amazing! I've just found your channel after searching for a difference between vaganova and RBS. Next week I'll have my first vaganova class and I'm excited. As I started ballet at the age of 28, I just can do my best and work hard but the limits are set. Though it's never too late to do what you love!

Would this be an idea for your videos? A practical way of judging good technical performance. Love your videos..

How long did it take for you to heal from your injury on your ankles and are the teachers understanding during exam week when they know you were recovering ? I have always studied Ballet since I was a young child and admire the hard work and dedication of any student of this form of discipline . Keep up the good work 🌺💃

    You are a lovely dancer with great facility! I enjoyed watching! I'd definitely like to see more videos going into specific technique. I'd love to know what Vaganova does to get everyone's arabesque and attitude derrière so high? What is the technique and what exercises do they do? Also, how do they teach turnout? How do they get the upper back so loose and free? Please more detail about technique.

    Could you talk about the meaning behind the center barre vs the other ones? How was it decided who was on each one and if you weren’t in the center did it mean you weren’t being looked at as closely for company spots?

    • @balletwithisabella
      @balletwithisabella  3 года назад +7

      the best stand on the centre barre and the closer you are th the centre the more favoured you are. unfortunately yes the people on the side are less favoured and less looked at. I started my first two years on the side barre but then got moved!

    When there was a ninth grade what was the biggest difference between 8th and 9th grades other than the obvious difficulty? Was it just refinement?

    • @balletwithisabella
      @balletwithisabella  3 года назад +1

      not a massive difference. one or two new steps but generally just refinement yes hence why they took off the 9th year again now and there's only 8 now
