A nice story. These kind of stories always paint a very optimistic picture about humanity's future. At present, we seem unable to even save our own planet from self-inflicted threats such as the climate change. Wars rage all over the planet, killing children and other innocent civilians on a daily basis. Dictators rule over half the world. Far from the kind of unity and wisdom that would be required in the future to become a galactic power, to be qualified to teach lessons, like in this story, to other species.

hiding your strength like this is asking for war.
Fantastic story!
"We mistook their restraint for submission." YEP, that's exactly how I want aliens to think of us.
It's similar to that other story about "Why Humans Never Choose War".
The human Ambassador also did the documentation for the formulation of what is called *casus beli* in Paradox game terms.
Cases belli is the real life term.
Like Icarus they flew to close to the sun and fell to there death
Amazing story
What is the inspiration of this video?
And is there any storyline connection between this video and the one called "Every Species Still Tells Stories About The Day Deathworlders Decided To Stop Being Nice | HFY"?
A nice story. These kind of stories always paint a very optimistic picture about humanity's future. At present, we seem unable to even save our own planet from self-inflicted threats such as the climate change. Wars rage all over the planet, killing children and other innocent civilians on a daily basis. Dictators rule over half the world. Far from the kind of unity and wisdom that would be required in the future to become a galactic power, to be qualified to teach lessons, like in this story, to other species.
Climate change will cease to be an issue in the coming decades.
Peace through superior firepower
WEHEY I'm the Trade Commissioner :D
If only this represented current humanity.
It does. There's a reason Afganistan isn't a sheet of irradiated glass right now
Ai voice, ai images, ai subtitles, is it an ai script? Is there a tiny little piece of soul somewhere in this presentation?
So what is the contract?
a good story with a valuable lesson
thanks
We nailed our own God to a wooden cross. That should make you second guess before fucking with Humanity.
I want this as a movie.
Oh, it's great to be a child on a ship called Star Dreamer, sure hope nothing bad happens today.... Wait, what's that soun-
A parallel could be made to Western civilization.... Hopefully
Western civilization was never the problem. You really think the term Golden Age, meaning about the time of Socrates was a time of darkness? Nope.... what Rome did to classical Greece and Egypt LATER, including inventing fascism, is absolutely a problem, but western civilization in and of itself was a gift.... enjoying Constitutional law? Thank the Greeks.... where do you think the Romans copied it before they decided fascism and imperial rule was preferable to a Republic?
@robertparobechek6580 I don't think you understand the meaning of my comment.
I am hoping Western civilization follows the humans in this story.
All I can hear is 'Rule Britannia! Britannia rule the waves!" just in SPACE, and with pride that's died long ago.
This entire time I'm thinking the oh no monkey meme
Humans are peaceful until we stop being patient
Love the comparison to humans to aliens. 13:41
Humans: not only did you touch our boats but you killed the children. Bet.
Imagine trying to fight a light speed f22 with nukes couldn't be me
Necrons say your arrogance has a price to losing to vermin!
While annihilating several human fleets using the same tech, but millions of years more advanced.
Alien : Foolish human
Human : Nice one ! So..did you know Napalm ?
Vary good read.
Beware the wrath of a patient man
For future reference please don't mention space oddity. That song gets stuck in my head for weeks
A good one.
"about consequences for actions"
Just then, the current version of the pager on each Council Member gave a simple, cruel, pointed message...
