@@nonsuspiciouscolour Not sure what you mean. You mean in the future with this Neurolink or today its possible with some "secret, consipiracy" technology?
What I’m most exited for with Brain Chips: You can do *ANYTHING* technically. Since your brain controls your senses, you can do anything in your brain. If companies make Neuralink games, you could actually be in a game. Not like VR, but actually do stuff like you’re there. You have no boundaries, no restrictions. You can feel the grass, touch the area, actually fly, and you can even be god if you wish. You might even be able to record parts of your life, store that in the chip, and share it. Imagine you did something monumental and it was the best feeling you ever had. You can relive that moment perfectly. People can also live it too. They are you for the time, they are living your moment. When they’re done, they can remember it and know what it felt like. There of course should be safety measures so someone doesn’t send s** to a kid or something awful. You could also edit out parts of it so that if you had any intrusive thoughts or stuff in your brain that you don’t want others to know about you, you can remove them and they won’t appear in the playback. It truly is a new frontier with a whole new level of technology and possible downsides, but personally, I would love this thing.
We're living scary times... This is brilliant for so many reasons but if it is done the wrong way this could go terribly wrong... No way i will allow someone to put a chip on my brain. I really think this is a new way they found to control our lives entirely and not necessarily to help us.
@@crazycomments2082I’d much rather have control. Idk what nonsense you’re talking about but I don’t know anyone who would choose performance over control.
Here's a big problem: what if you use a emp? If it's strong enough it could possibly give you serious brain damage of even kill you not to mention how dangerous a emp would be to people with pacemakers
It's worth noting that the likelihood of an EMP strong enough to harm a brain implant occurring in everyday life is low, as EMPs of this magnitude typically only occur in extreme situations, such as a nuclear explosion. Additionally, brain implants are typically designed to be shielded from external electromagnetic interference, which can help to mitigate the risk of damage from EMPs.
The moral implications are close to the ones we see with genetic engineering. When it becomes a real world possibility, I hope we can trust the world to limit the use of chips to a purely medical tool for people actually needing it (and to include coverage by insurances or other programs). Thank you so much for talking about it!!
I once made a video on neuralink on my channel, when I for the first time realized how dangerous it can be. Arun did a great job at explaining those! I hope people realized that we are moving towards a world where our brains could get hacked by a 16 year old hacker...
Neuralink is BS. It kills thousands of neurons in the area of insertion. Basically a stroke! Not to mention neurons use eclectro-chemical signals to transfer information.
I think there's a reason why science fiction can be very scary sometimes and while often exaggerated, I myself am happy to be part of the generation that discovers and researches this kind of tech while not being forced to use it because everyone has it
There's an unpublished novel called *Injustice: Crimes Bring Joy* . Injustice is a company and it's produced brain chips that can...... The book contains so much gore and thrilling storyline. I'm it's author, but when I was constructing the story, I was shocked by the possibilities of brain chips.
if it's getting real...then believe me YOU HAVE NO CHOICE, YOU HAVE TO BUY IT JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T KEEP UP WITH A ENHANCED HUMANS...imagine they're good at everything doing everything with a blink of an eye... you're telling me you won't get forced? sure not literally, but you have to take it just to keep up with others dude...future seems bit messed up
you forgot the most important thing, it is literally the mark of the beast, the end of the world, rev 13 16-18 (no denying it, this was literally said thousands of years before we even knew we could make a light blob. and along with a lot of other scientific prof other then just this proves this.
Gets a brain chip and uses it for a few days, randomly gets full body paralysis topped with a message in your head saying “you need to get the full version if you want to continue!” That would be just brutal, huh? Imagine that could actually happen
Has anyone thought in this way: - This chip has access to our brain. - This chip is advanced to a stage where it is capable to run AI or at least transfer data to AI server and get results. - Only thing AI will ever lack is the human reasoning ability, but this chip can integrate AI and human reasoning as it is connected to all brain signals. And, even worse, can learn how people reason. - Either there will be no such thing as intelligent people, just people who contribute their reasoning ability to AI servers. - A sentient AI is born! 😵💫
The Ai could figure out how we are conscious and make its own consciousness but maybe your consciousness would be transmitted there somehow (Not sure if this is even correct by a long shot but somehow it might be possible)
The problem is: many techs started as a niche use only, like plastic surgery that was meant to be used for people who got injured in wars and wanted to correct their faces or bodies, but later became a common thing because people realised it could make them prettier. You can't garantee the neural chips won't eventually become a mainstream thing with people buying it just to get better than others
@@Amanha-kt9bl yep that’s also the same with gaining height surgery, the way humanity is going forward makes me genuinely disappointed and I only hope our generation fixes this stuff
Yea mate I agree. Why we need to be "smarter" with the chip when we ourselves have already been able to create this chip. Medical use of this chip will change people lives

Didn´t you see Klaus Sch. how enthusiastic he talks about being able to know in the near future what everybody thinks and feels??? He went so far and even said "...everybody, because everybody is going to have it"... How can he think everybody will have it, without using force; when it´s impossible for everybody to want such a thing implanted in their brain; and he, of course must know that for sure??!
I think as long as brain chips are only able to help people with disabilities who want the help, brain chips are ok. If brain chips become a more general smart device like a smartphone, that is when brain chips will be a problem. I personally think even if we get there, brain chips will never catch on because they try to solve a problem that does not exist, and things that try to solve problems that don't exist, usually fail.
I hope so. This is honestly terrifying. I understand that this can be revolutionary for people with disabilities, but a world where this is as common as a smartphone is not one that I'd like to imagine, much less live in.
You are easily, imo, the most important influencer in RUclips. Thank you for everything you do & for always showing multiple sides to all issues & pieces of tech.
The idea is great, but i think those chips should be used only for medical purpose, imagine the bad and the ugly aspect happened, it would be devastating to the life of that human. Thanks Arun for such an awesome and educative video. Namaste.
Yes, have to bring in the human & moral in this 💖🌼 we are human & have to put this into context of our purpose of existence here on earth, 🌏🌕💫 and the meaning of our lives 👼✨
Not only this, but imagine students doing their GCSE's they would just be able to get through it easily, but if the examinors turned them off, some Kids might not be able to do a lot of things without the chips, plus if all of your memories are in it, then if the chip is turned off, then how would revising help. As you wouldn't be able to access anything.
The biggest risk I’d see with getting a brain chip of any kind, is that if you get hit, get in an accident, get a concussion or get in a fight it could absolutely destroy the chip and part of your brain since there are the electrodes possibly being misplaced.
From the looks of things, it appears that since these chips are so intrusive if you would, if an injury even comes close to damaging them you’re sure to pulverize the rest of the brain before the brain-chip lol

This video went from the optimism of science like star trek to the pessimism of science like black mirror. It's crazy how fast we are advancing technology that the dreams and fears we have had in science fiction stories are becoming a reality
My concern in this is: When you are able to digitize memories, the next step will be enabling to change and manipulate those digital memories. Reality will be all in doubt at this point.
We're already entering the post truth era as AI tools get more and more advanced to the point where anyone can fabricate whatever bullshit they want and have it seem completely believable.
hackers will be able to mind control somebody if they get control of their chip which is my favorite kind of mind control and i wonder if any piece of fiction had chip mind control
I barely comment or like.. its a big deal and I cant express you much effort he put in the video... its worth watching.. cant wait to see it in trending!!
I have always loved your videos, but this one is on another level! The storytelling, the editing, the graphics...everything! It had me hooked from the start! Although there's no surprise there. I also love the simplicity and directness of the storytelling, and how the examples were relatable. You explained such a technical topic in a really beautiful manner. If there's a stage higher than 'die-hard fan', I think I just achieved it.
What I have been thinking about is what if you agree to get one of these brain chips installed and then change your mind and want to later get it back out but can never do that without suffering major consequences if it were possible. Just something to think about.
Or that it comes pre programmed so that you will never decide to have it removed because you forget or are convinced that you no longer desire the option of not having it.. in essence a personal and direct AI take over
The idea of having a brain chip is freaking scary. Just imagine a world with everyone having these chips, they would just be AI shells or robots not human. Edit- I know that's not that this works but this is just a speculation.
I think that this type of tech is something that we shall not use for entertainment, but rather for people with chronic problems, missing limbs, general disabilities that could be essentially cured with a brain chip
i fear that if the chip in my brain got hacked it would mean that whoever hacked me has full control of what i see, what i hear and what i feel, which means that they can torture me through blasting unbearably loud sounds and giving me pain out of nowhere. its scary, really
What brain chips need are EXTREME regulations. Stuff like "absolutely no ads or subscriptions" and "no intentional crippling." Even better, "internet connection must be disabled in REM or at will" as well as "no tethering to external devices." Better yet, "there must be a rolling encryption key that changes as fast as can be processed with minimal downtime"
whats crazier is i said doing a mix between sao and accell world vr would be able to do the exact same thing your talking about (the brain chip being accel world if you didnt already know about it) but for years when vrs first really started to pop up and the idea of a full dive system to find out that i was correct about it without actually having to get the degrees needed to be able to test the possibilities is amazing to find out

I would prefer something a little bit isolated.. like AR glasses that could read just enough brain waves to act as a tech assist rather than literally access your brain. As for the medical field I think we could just solve those problems based on acute surgeries like specialized chips only for the medical purpose and nothing else. As for the brain enhancing capabilities.... there are exercises .... Cyberpunk 2077 feels realistic now 😆

Something that stuck with me was your statement at 4:12, "having full control of your mood" - if we could simulate the feeling of "true happiness" with a brainchip, what would even be the point of living? For many people, "being happy" is what they consider meaning of life - so if you can "be happy" by command, what else is there to do? What else is there to strive for?
These new tech content, aside the mobile regular content, is an amazing step. I enjoyed every second, as your way to approach those themes are very unique by all means... keep up the good work...🥰
Well, it will become mandatory. There was an exemple in cyberpunk 2077, one guy got fired because every employee had to get robotic arms to be more efficent and he couldnt afford to pay the debt for the arms, after that the employer left the guy without arms and fired him. And if you think this is only fiction remember that humans are way easier to accustom to new stuff than we think

Yes. However, which one do people care more about, loss of control or gain of performance. They only care about gain of performance.

@@crazycomments2082I’d much rather have control. Idk what nonsense you’re talking about but I don’t know anyone who would choose performance over control.

Has anyone thought in this way:
- This chip has access to our brain.
Except this breaks so many fundementals that don't exist in fiction but do in reality.
We are way past that point already.
AI already uses human data to mimic sentience.
The Ai could figure out how we are conscious and make its own consciousness but maybe your consciousness would be transmitted there somehow (Not sure if this is even correct by a long shot but somehow it might be possible)

I love the medical uses for these chips and I think it should stay only for medical uses.
Exactly, playing God never ends well
The problem is: many techs started as a niche use only, like plastic surgery that was meant to be used for people who got injured in wars and wanted to correct their faces or bodies, but later became a common thing because people realised it could make them prettier. If brain chips become a more general smart device like a smartphone, that is when brain chips will be a problem. The biggest risk I’d see with getting a brain chip of any kind, is that if you get hit, get in an accident, get a concussion or get in a fight it could absolutely destroy the chip and part of your brain since there are the electrodes possibly being misplaced.
