this may very well result in an increased suicidal rate and depression. providing users with such unreal levels of immersion is a double edged sword. charming, sure but imagine returning to your real life. imagine looking at your surroundings or in the mirror after taking that headset off - a coping mechanism for the insecure, making them feel much more miserable than what they actually are

There was this book series called Pendragon where this technology existed. It had a bad ending. The meta verse seems more depressing honestly. Imagine being done with the metaverse only to realize that you are just an ordinary dude. Honestly we shouldn’t even be worrying about how we are in real time, but The metaverse looks like it’s about to accomplish that.
I am absolutely scared of this. The only things I feel close to are the ability of seeing places in different moments in history, making your own clothes and taking part at live concerts. The rest just scares me, everything real would be so distant, we might end up being addicted to this. I personally will never be a metaverse member
Was gonna comment the same but apparently you too have the same thought....we are already adicted to mobiles laptops etc....it already has serious health implication.
I’m personally scared of one thing. Imagine when you were younger, you were enjoying walks on the actual beaches, going to the actual stores and eating on the actual restaurant. Imagine if all of these start getting a past reality and everything outside is closed and abandoned…just imagine taking off the VR and be alone, feeling dizzy in your apartment, house, mansion.
The scariest part is: for most people this is the escape that they've been waiting for. No need to live in the real world, this is where they will inhabit this is where they will die.
But listen, it could also cure the depression some problem feel. As long as they understand that they still need to live a real life, it could help them.

This also means that Meta will be able to monitor every single move and word you say/hear/do. There will be zero privacy just like there is none on FB.
Yep, which also means that our culture will be stuck, cause people won't have to think about anything, because the "right" and "wrong" have been fixed on us to a point where most people would think it's objective. When reality is, our moral values have changed over time as the species evolves. And a big company with that power can easily halt it all in fear of change, because again, the people running it behind closed doors have the same fear as everyone else: "not being the one in control", or in other words, "the unknown" and whatnot. I still think that for now, I'll just hang in my real self. I know how to use VR chat and can even get a VR headset if I want to... just I don't think it's gonna be any better for me. Of course there is gonna be good in *any* form of technology, some way or another. In this particular case I believe the bad outweigh the good - so the whole thing is not worth using as it damages society as a whole. I will also pass on it, and advise against it.
10 years from now companies and jobs will try to require people to be apart of it in some way, in some way it’ll be known to increase efficiency or workflow. it is more then a new tech implemented, and indeed you smelled it right the stench of enemy of human existence. This is an attack of humanity with all that it has.
A simple question that I have: If I could look better in the metaverse, do great things in the metaverse, have a huge number of positive interactions and activities in the metaverse, why on earth would I ever come back to the real life? I would take the bare minimum of sustenance in the real life, and live out the rest of my life in the metaverse. I would call this the "Avatar Paradox". In the movie "Avatar (2009)", there was a dialogue of Jake, which says, "It feels like out there is the reality, and in here the dream." (Obviously, I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea). So I would probably live out my life in the dream. But I think it might have real issues such as people losing touch with reality, and the entire world living in a comatose situation, with their brains connected in the virtual world. It feels kind of dystopian.

The Metaverse honestly terrifies me. We don’t know what the long term effects of social media will be, but we are seeing glimpses, and they’re not comforting. How much more intense will those effects be when a social media company pushes us in the direction of an all consuming metaverse?
Absolutely can u imagine the inaccuracies the Politically Correct version of history education would be fraught with. Not to mention the body image issues we're already seeing in kids these days.

Everyone's talking about the metaverse like its an entire new world to teleport into, but its simply not. You can't feel any sensations of the place and cannot touch anything in it, and you will be limited by the physical objects around you in real life. I just have a hard time believing it will be realistic at all. This isn't the matrix, its not even close.
One step closer to being locked into a VR sword fighting MMO game where your death in game results in your actual death

SAO flashbacks
SAO FLASHBACKS sad sachi died
The government just needs to make regulations that you can't put microwaves in your VR headsets xd.

Being a stick in the mud would be more meaningful than this shit lol. And I do love me some VR, but I also like alcohol. You won't catch me carrying a bottle everywhere I go though. It has it's place and time, it's not a lifestyle.

At last someone addressed this. A massive thanks to Arun for presenting us this issue.

@@zwabbah4841 yeah I have seen a lot of metaverse movies and researched on a lot of metaverse theories ......none of them ended well.⚰️
You should make a follow up video of how the Metaverse failed and nobody cares.
I feel that the first introduction to the metaverse was the movie "The Matrix". They were preparing our minds, making us comfortable with the idea of a virtual world. 🙈
yep
its kinda more like ready player one
And the year meta verse is announced is the year matrix 4 is coming out.
Preparing the world's mind for such changes has a special word. It's called "predictive programming". You see it on TV, your mind accepts it and has less resistance down the line when it is actually brought into real life.
Thats not what The Matrix is bro 😂, The Matrix is that you are a slave to the system (governments) and the rulers of this world
I feel like a conservative old man in my twenties when I hear about the concept of a virtual world

Here’s my 2 cents: Life’s already feels so unnatural in many ways and we really can’t afford to mess it up anymore. We shouldn’t forget that we are still a living creature with a mass of cells just like any animal. I think this whole idea of VR will insert a new set of problems to our lives and wellbeing.

I agree we all need real life
Depresses me only to think that people are fine with not experiencing REAL WORLD you canot feel the wind, touch or emotions its all fake, fake experience fake feels and fake people at the maximum. Like people buying nft-s of a guitar or a car, rather than to buy an actual guitar and learn to play it and in some cases it's even a lot cheaper. I'm just disappointed with people of today.
@@Skyward23Fpv Scientifically speaking, what you feel is just nerve impulses and brain chemicals...
It's not that hard for tech to be able to stimulate feeling in that same way.
That's where the whole 'brain in a jar' thing comes from.
Not to mention, reality has limits. A virtual one does not.
It's all about how it's executed. Sure the metaverse might be a ploy for even better datamining and profiling of people, but a fully virtual world where you can do and feel things in a better way than the real world will most likely occur.
If not now, in the future.
yeah i really can't see myself doing this but maybe im wrong
@@adeeshadeegala5900 I understand you, but how the real world will look like? Kids these day are so sensitive about everything rl, because they lack touch to the real world I see it on day to day basis, I don't see how meta verse can help, only becoming much worse and making yung sensitive minds more fragile close up the world society, loosing all your day in a safe environment, but the reality is other way around, I was scared shitless of making first motorcycle jump or backflip but that makes you feel soo alive when you accomplis it and rewarding there is no game trophy that can replace that. Also I see it as a problem if the new generation in future start earning money in this univers the whole real world will come apart and that is a fact. Feeling satisfied with your virtual place and living in a hole when you can turn the thing the other way around in real life is wrong and for meta it will work because people don't like hard stuff in life they we want it all easy and smooth even if it's fake...
Im totally against this “metaverse” because I 100% believe that society will be completely ruined and fragmented, we would be stuck with this obsession of having a virtual world and we will be less focused on ourselves in the real world.
I agree,I highly doubt in this ever being mainstream, people will probably realise the negatives far outweigh the positive and stop using this, If it is though thats the END.

it is more then a new tech implemented, and indeed you smelled it right the stench of enemy of human existence. This is an attack of humanity with all that it has.
Go outside into the nature and forget about the internet
