It is important to note that Full Backup and Incremental Backup both Clear the Archive bit. Differential Backup does not clear the Archive bit. This is important to know in relation to Security+ exam.
Thank you, you explained something in 7 minutes what most of the university teachers are unable in hours. You are doing a great job. Very very thank you
I stumbled upon this channel a few days ago, and I agree 100%. Very concise and thorough explanations with zero fluff. A seriously underrated channel IMO.
I just LOVE how you explain everything with simple visuals and without too much detail that will make the video unnecessarily long, they're perfectly balanced. Thank you so much and keep up the good work!
The way these topics are explained are so simple and straight to the point. The animation helps so much. Currently working on my revision for Comptias server+ course and if it wasn't for this channel and these videos i'd literally be lost lol.
Many videos on the Internet contain lengthy, technical explanations without simplifying the main points. And sometimes there is a smart aleck presenter trying to act "all that", offering useless ostentation which distracts me from the information I am trying to collect. These videos are simply the best. Thank you!
Watched a load of videos on this and all of them are making this so much more difficult than it needed to be and missing out essential bits of information, thanks for this, all went in 1st time.
The best explanation of a topic that causes so much confusion! I’ve taken screenshots and notes thank you so much for doing this what a great channel with so many videos
Best tutorial on back ups so far !I have watched so many videos and still couldn't understand the difference! Thank you so much sir! Made it so simple!
this chanel is the f*cking greatest! Thank you so much for putting the time to make all these animations and picking the right words to express what's going on the screen. All this makes your content very understandable and has assisted me many times. Thanks again for the effort and dedication
OP really has such a knack for explaining a concept in a way that pierces through any veil of obfuscation. It's akin to a song that hits a nerve in the right way for a particular mood, but the nerve in this case is the one that leads directly to the "Oh!" sector of understanding for a given topic or idea
Thank you for this great video explanation, it really helped me grasp and understand the different backup strategies and especially with the animations and the summary at the end, GREAT JOB!!
Excellent explanation. Your method of instruction is superb. The difference between "incremental" and "differential" is so subtle that your animation can show the distinction clearly. Well done. Liked and subscribed.
wow the way other sources explained this was confusing as hell!!!!! I did not under stand the difference between Incremental and Differential until now. As always great explination and visuals. Thanks!
I am a follower of your channel long time ago, your videos are increíbles, easy to understand very visuals, about this topic of backups, my advice is it’s possible to create one video explaining retention backup, a lot of people turn complicated to understand that! With your incredible videos I am sure the problem will be solved, greeting
Please note that some backup systems (such as restic) do not do any of the above, because they are typically uses on media that is not a linear read/write. such as S3 buckets or hard drives.
I had to back up this lesson a few times to fully understand. My old lady backed me up on this decision to back up to the part we could not comprehend. She got my back and I got hers. K. now back to this tutorial.
Very cool animations and very clear explanation. Just one notice: backups are not only for disasters/hardware failure but also used for user errors when a user deletes something and we have to recover it. And if this happens maybe the file to be restored is stored on a specific "day's" incremental backup, you only need to open that specific and one incremental backup tape so opposing your explanation, in this case there is no need to restore all incrementals but only that specific one is needed to be opened where the deleted file backup is. When there is a disaster of corse you have to restore the full and the following incrementals but if a deleted document is to be recovered then only a single incremental backup is needed maybe. What do you guys think, it this correct?
I was having a hard time understanding the difference between incremental and differential backups. This video cleared everything up. Thank you.
I went through the same
Same here.
It is important to note that Full Backup and Incremental Backup both Clear the Archive bit. Differential Backup does not clear the Archive bit. This is important to know in relation to Security+ exam.
I need the visual to understand the difference between incremental and differential backups. This video really helped.
Thank you, you explained something in 7 minutes what most of the university teachers are unable in hours. You are doing a great job. Very very thank you

Sw Architect I guess some people can’t “differentiate” good from bad channels. 👍🏾
People is now focus in entertainment mostly. Instructive stuff are no longer a priority for the majority of human beings.
I agree. His explanations are so simple to understand and the graphics are amazing. Awesome videos.
As far as I know all company stop using incremental backups they only use Full And Differential Back up
