Except for the first commandment the other nine are general rule of life to not be an arsehole to people. 10 commandments cover hebrew/Christian/Islam, the three most common religions in the world. If you have 2 or sets of people with the same exact commandments in their religious texts, then it holds weight.
No👏No👏No👏 I supported & voted for Governor Landry, but I would much rather see him do this with the Bill of Rights or Constitution! Not every child at school is a Christian. This is exactly why there is supposed to be a separation of church & state. Promote our country, not a religion. We are all Americans & kids can more easily relate to that better. This, along with the no permit for firearms seem very reckless, in my opinion & will only cause all kinds of controversy for our state & rightly so! Why would he do this? Governor?
Goof morals should be taught at Home and at church(Sunday school) and I am a christian. Try Displaying them in your daily living for young and old to see.

Those are included under the parables and teaching of Jesus christ of Nazareth, God in the flesh. The 10 commandments were given to Moses to the people of Israel, context is correct but there are 10 and only 10 commandments. The teaching of the masses he preached those two commandments to highlight what his father had told Moses. I live by Matthew 7:24 "for the wise man built his house upon the rock and when the flood came the house was not washed away but the foolish man who built his house upon the sand was washed away"

I really don't get how your reply applies to the issue of posting the Old Testament 10 Commandments...which really have no means of salvation in them. But I do enjoy the debate. God bless, Brother. As a former public school teacher I would like to see the Bible taught in the context of history but not with an evangelical motive. The United States must not become a theocracy because that could go in several directions. The posting of the 10 Commandments required by a state government is a mistake.
As a Christian i can tell you the 10 commandments aren't all religious. If you dont like the first the rest is just a guide to live a productive life and not harm or destroy fellow humans. I wish people would take this as an ancient guide to navagate life, its self explanitory.

It makes no sense if the students can’t read who cares if they put the 10 Commandments up, they can’t read them. And if you don’t like it, you can always just not read it. Just like everything else in the classroom they decide not to read when they don’t want to. this is not about freedom of speech South people who have a problem with God being in schools. And since prayers been taken out of schools, they have been absolutely horrendous. I don’t think it hurt.
