Moses was not a practicing Christian though as it did not exist at that point in time, or Judaism since they both started coming around at the same time which is why he's an important figure in both. If you really want to debate, he didn't really have a religion of unquestionable stance, he was religious. He talked to God, but what true religion he actually followed is not known.

Moses was a human being who saw further and thought further than the tip of his nose and knew that human beings formed their essence of character from the ground up themselves and then lived their lives accordingly. So he did a great thing when he created the 10 Commandments, which I respected and followed all my life because I knew that they were correct, which is why I can still mention them today, although Moses devised and presented them to the people differently than they are listed in the Bible. In word and truth, unfortunately, what he said was not understood, consequently everything was misinterpreted, falsified and written down for a long time - after he was murdered. The truth of the commandments were in fact those, as I can no longer reproduce them in order and word for word, as Moses said.1.I myself am lord over myself, and never shall there be a god beside me or above me.2.Never shall you take your name in vain by lying or by making a fool of yourself.3.Thou shalt always strive to do what is right and good.4.Do not lust after the goods of your neighbour.5.Thou shalt do the duties of thy daily life without grumbling.6.Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.7.Thou shalt honour thy parents according to their worth.8.Thou shalt never kill willingly, in anger, as punishment, blood vengeance, revenge, in greed or war.9.You shall not steal your neighbour's goods.10.Thou shalt not break thy bond of companionship.

Are they going to display the RIGHT commandments? The old testament has a total of 613 commandments. All those plaques and monuments you have seen list commandments from Exodus 20 but the scripture never calls that list the ten commandments.
The phrase "ten commandments" does not appear until Exodus 34.
Exodus 34:28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
To see what commandments the scripture calls "the ten commandments" you have to read Exodus 34:14-28. You will discover that these are the Bible's ten commandments:
Thou shalt worship no other god.
Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.
The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep.
Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day rest.
Thou shalt observe the feast of weeks.
Thrice in the year shall all your men children appear before the Lord God.
Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven.
Neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left until the morning.
The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the Lord thy God.
Thou shalt not seeth a kid in his mother's milk.
And for those who think the Bible's commandments should be followed, you have a lot of killing to do. One example would be the commandment about keeping the sabbath day. Here's that commandment in it's entirety:
Exodus 31:12-15 ...... ............ Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.’

The requirement for classrooms to display the Ten Commandments in Louisiana raises significant constitutional issues, particularly regarding the separation of church and state. Here are detailed arguments and relevant legal precedents:
    1. **Establishment Clause of the First Amendment**:
    - The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." This clause is interpreted to mean that government entities, including public schools, cannot promote or endorse a particular religion.
    - Displaying the Ten Commandments, which are inherently religious texts, in public school classrooms can be seen as an endorsement of a specific religion (Judaism and Christianity). This could alienate students and families who adhere to other religions or who are non-religious.
    2. **Supreme Court Precedents**:
    - **Stone v. Graham (1980)**: The Supreme Court ruled that a Kentucky law requiring the posting of the Ten Commandments in public school classrooms was unconstitutional. The Court held that the law had a "plainly religious purpose" and thus violated the Establishment Clause.
    - **Lemon v. Kurtzman (1971)**: This case established the "Lemon Test" to determine whether a law violates the Establishment Clause. The test has three prongs: the law must have a secular legislative purpose, its principal or primary effect must be one that neither advances nor inhibits religion, and it must not foster excessive government entanglement with religion. Requiring the Ten Commandments in classrooms would likely fail this test.
    - **McCreary County v. ACLU of Kentucky (2005)**: The Supreme Court ruled against the display of the Ten Commandments in courthouses, stating that such displays were intended to advance religion, thus violating the Establishment Clause.
    3. **Potential for Coercion and Discrimination**:
    - Requiring the Ten Commandments to be displayed could coerce students to engage in religious activities or endorse religious beliefs against their will. This coercion is particularly problematic in a public school setting, where attendance is compulsory.
    - Such a requirement could also discriminate against students of other faiths or those who do not follow any religion, creating a hostile environment and marginalizing minority groups.
    4. **Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment**:
    - The Equal Protection Clause mandates that no state shall "deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." By promoting one set of religious beliefs, the state could be seen as denying equal treatment to students of other religions or beliefs, thus violating this clause.
    5. **State Constitutions**:
    - Many state constitutions have their own provisions regarding the separation of church and state. Louisiana's Constitution, for example, includes provisions ensuring religious freedom and prohibiting state endorsement of religion. Requiring the Ten Commandments in classrooms could violate these state-specific legal protections.
    6. **Implications for Religious Freedom**:
    - Mandating the display of a specific religious text in public schools infringes on the religious freedom of students and teachers. It imposes a particular religious viewpoint in a government-funded and government-operated institution, which should remain neutral on matters of religion.
In summary, the main arguments against the requirement for classrooms to display the Ten Commandments revolve around constitutional protections ensuring the separation of church and state, the prevention of religious endorsement by the government, and the safeguarding of individual religious freedom. Supreme Court precedents such as Stone v. Graham and the application of the Lemon Test underscore the unconstitutionality of such mandates in public education.

Moses wasn't the original law giver. Hamurabbi preceded him with his Code by at least a couple of centuries, and who knows what laws were written earlier than his. Besides, Moses required worship of his god and no other. Don't recall that in the U.S. Constitution.
