JMac is back and he is on fire. He moved back from the 6000-6200 yard tees to 6,500-6,600 yard tees. This is a good move for him since he started breaking 80 on the white tees. He started knocking on the door of 80, and finally broke 80. He is now a fully fledged member of the Blue tee, or 2nd from the back tee society and plays up to 6800 yards now.

In this video, JMac guides us around the course on his way to a sub 90 round. This was his first time from the Blues on this course. It's a tricky course with a lot of uneven lies. He had 6 or 7 even lies excluding the tees.
He has improved his putting, hit chipping, and to some extent his tee ball but I would suggest his most MASSIVE improvement is his putting. When there is no camera on him, the dude is jamming like a jammer.
He is a great playa and he has not only shot 80, but he has now broken 80 and that is huge. The guy worked his score down in 2 years, from 120 to 78. Waddaman. JMac can do it. You can do it. Just put in the work and don't listen to Strokes Gained nonsense! Short game short game short game.
And also, if you play with clubs that hinder you, like JMac and his blades back in the day, nothng wrong with a set of game improvement irons.

quick question... on hole 13, doesn't he get a free drop cuz of the cart path? or was he inside the hazard line?
He was in the hazard so he would have to do on the slope where the ball would be very far below his feet
Since finding your channel I broke 100 last year, and broke 90 this year shooting an 88. Last night I shot the best round of my life - 81! - following the process-based way of the playa. This is hands down the best way to bring down scores and stop taking things so seriously. Kudos to you and kudos to me!
It was strange reading this because the first time I broke 90 I shot an 88 and 81 is my best round ever. Good luck!

@@featherfoot614 Yes, the biggest thing was learning to drop the ego shots and set myself for an easy distance to the green. My 8 iron through 50' covers my 140-100 yard range comfortably, so as long as I'm inside 150 yards my confidence levels are high and I can aim for a green in reg. In that last game I scored 8 bogeys, 7 pars, 2 doubles, and 1 sweet sweet birdie. Good luck on your goal.

Agreed that Matt has really changed the game for me. I’ve went from shooting in the 100s in March to now shooting in the mid to high 80s consistently. I always had the skill just never had the right mentality or knowledge of how to put it all together. Thanks to Matt I’ve really made golf fun for myself and everyone I play with now!

I got a big boy game this Friday I'm surely to be WOTP and hoping to also break 90 on a course I've never played!! I feel good, just have to get some sleep the night before as I tend to get VERY excited!!!! On my home course I've never played better or more consistent, can I take it to a road course? Let's hope!! I struggled to break 100 over the past couple of years but since joining my local golf league my play has improved. Last year I shot under 100 for the first time. This year, prior to watching your videos, I went out with the mindset to play that my goal was to play bogey golf. How cool to see you teaching golfers to set a "new par" based on their skill level. This year I've been under 100 three times, with my personal best 47/46 coming just a couple of weeks ago. Last week, with no birdies and no pars, I shot 98. Shooting under 100 with no birdies or pars came out of pushing past a blow up hole. My putter was not nearly as hot as the previous week when I shot 93. Shooting under 90 is something I can visualize as a reality now. I really appreciate your videos!
This channel has the best content that I've able to find. Some other guys are out there with great stuff, but they honestly don't touch this channel. Thanks for all the hard work!

At grass ranges, it's preferred to make a straight line of divots. Same thing on par 3's, tee up just behind another divot, for aiming (like Jmac) and tee box preservation.

Matt, want to thank you for your guide to playing golf. I can’t believe the difference it’s made to my game an attitude. Today, needed par on 18th hole to shoot even par for the round (for 2nd time this year) and dunked my approach shot in the water. In the past best I would have done after that would have been a double. I said to myself, next shot can be the best shot of your life, hit my lob wedge to about 8 feet above the hole and drained the putt for a bogie. Even though it was not shooting even par, I walked off the green like I did! Thanks for your passion and sharing it with us.

J-Mac is my man!! Matt already plays much better than me, but I can identify with J-Mac. Similar level, similar errors. Love seeing him make progress, and happy to report my average 9 is down from 45ish to 42ish after a year of trying to play the way of the playa. Breaking 40 (80) is on my horizon!

So cool to see how excited you get for JMac. Makes me so excited for my family golf trip next weekend. I don’t get to golf with many people these days and get to experience that feeling of joy over someone else hitting a fantastic series of shots. All have moved out of state, off to school, got family duties, etc. etc. And my home course is very chill - not many people on the course which I love! But it also is a bummer cause you don’t get to experience rounds with other people as frequently as other courses I’ve been to.
Matt is the ultimate hype man for his friends. Awesome to see how honestly happy he is for them.

love the videos! im currently hitting a 90 on average but i enjoy it more than i used to by keeping positive and sticking to your tips! also, i like how you show where the ball goes with the red tracer in the videos, keeps the viewer engaged while nothing is really happening and because we cant see the ball.

Wow - waddacanyononondulation (189y par3). Imho, it's easier to hit a longer iron softer, smoother (=shorter) than to power up a shorter iron, innit?
About that hybrid - did both models, the Cobra and the M2, have the same loft(manufacturers tend to fool you about the distance by cranking up the lofts... )? Love to play my old trusty-rusty JPX hybrid from Mizuno, just that one with 23° loft, but waddaversatileclub...
