The reason J.Hill is so successful is how passionate she is in her work, as a professional makeup artist she even has a list of tutorials to educate us on how to apply beautiful makeup! Now thats REAL youtube beauty guru. I love how she focus on makeup & not rant about husband, new house new pet new shoes new jacket. Some of you may disagree but this is my kind of beauty guru. ;)
I agree. I like that I don't have to wait 10 minutes for the tutorial part to begin. She doesn't ramble about off-topic things or get sidetracked and go off-camera.
I agree! Jaclyn has the passion, talent AND personality to make her successful and just all-around awesome to watch. Even back in the day when she started making videos and you could tell that she wasn't in a happy place in her life (I wasn't either, which is why I felt like I connected with her so much..but that's another story), as soon as she started getting into a makeup look her demeanor would go from "meh" to SO excited and inspired. Her passion is totally contagious! Jaclyn has inspired me to start my own channel (can you tell I have a major girl crush on this woman I've never even met?!) LOVE YOU Jaclyn!!!

This video was weirdly uploaded the day my grandmother died. The reason I say weirdly is because my Grandma was born in 1919 and she was around for old Hollywood and absolutely loved all the actresses of that time and actually tried to become an actress but she had to work because her family had no money. I wish she would have been alive to see this tutorial. She use to watch your tutorials with me.

Hey Jaclyn, I have a slightly hooded eye to the point where when I open my eyes you cant really see all the eye shadow below my crease, so whenever I try to do my eye liner like yours no matter what look im doing, all you can see is the black eye liner, could you please help me out and show us hooded girls how we should be doing our eye liner for the gorgeous looks you do . Could you please do an updated hair tutorial? I recently dyed my hair red for the very first time and it faded so quickly! How do you maintain your hair color so vibrant at all times yet so healthy!? I just LOVE your hair and was hoping you could share some of your tips with us
Same here!
I have had my hair red for 2 year, a year ago. There is nothing to do, the red pigments can't stick to the hair for so long for some reason (it is only red pigments that has that issue). The thing you can do is too use a colour bomb(hair mask) with red pigments. Use that maybe one-two times in a month when the colour is starting to fade. Then move it up and use the colour bomb every second week/ones a week depend on how much pigments that have faded, you will see yourself how often! :) hope this was for any help.

Jaclyn ' s hair looks so healthy. Can anyone recommend any products or tips to get those healthy, silky locks?
Try drinking ALOT of water most importantly & cutting out bad foods. Also try deep conditioning weekly (for about an hour) also try using sulfate free shampoos & get some coconut oil ! It's amazing, leave it on your hair every time you wash for an hour to even over night then wash & condition. It does wonders for dry damaged hair. Also eliminating heat really helps & drying your hair with cotton t shirts or microfiber helps with frizz
***** What would you suggest for oil scalps then? I wash my hair a lot because my scalp just gets so oily and itchy, but my hair is like dry. :( and thank you for your tips!I'll try to really research different shampoos and Conditioners.
Liz PenaOh I do drink a lot of water! I just bought some coconut oil too so I'll try that out.
I would try getting a chemical treatment if you have a salon that does them near you... they help your hair a ton and they should be able to mix it so it tailors for the problems you are having. Also, try the Redken Clear Moisture products for the dryness and if you are wanting it to be silky and smooth you could use Redken All Soft (:

Hi Jaclyn! Could you please tell how to make up hoody eyes? You have so beautiful and "open" eyes. I have terribly hooded eyes, my "upper" eyelid is so heavy that you can't see any lid or crease when my eyes are open. I'm young so it's all about the genes... I've tried to do winged eyeliner but it looks just ridiculous. I think all I can do with eyeshadow is not to have it at all or just dark smoky eyes :/
I have the same problem and I'm in my 20's. I put all this eyeshadow on my lid and then I open my eyes and poof it's all hidden. Such a bummer but I wing my eyeliner out more sideways than up towards my eyebrows and it helps.

I have hooded eyes and played around this look a little. I made an artificial line a bit higher than my actual crease and it was enough to give the illusion of opening up the eye a bit more.

I would LOVE to see a video on your hair care routine! It is always so shiny.and flawless, and I'd love to see what products you use! I know I've heard you say a few times that you wash your hair every 3 days, so I am wondering what you use to prevent your hair from getting gross and oily during that time, or if it is just how your hair naturally is.
maybe its just me because im a perfectionist that examines EVERY single detail, but i don't understand how people can say all her looks are/look the same?? they are vastly different. i guess you just have to be very artistic to notice. Like how most people look at two shades of purple and can't see a difference, but people with an artistic streak cant even consider the two shades remotely similar.

morphe has amazing brush sets, and are, in my opinion very similar in quality to Sigma. The price is incredible!
I purchased a set from makeup geek it was 5 brushes for i believe $30 or $40 US. Worth every penny & i've purchased every brush they have individually. Also i highly recommend Morphe brushes the price is great. I hope that helps.

Of course it will! Just mascara will look so pretty. But if you want to try lashes make sure you wait for the glue to get tacky and try using tweezers for more control.

Your husband is so damn lucky!!! To have u!!! Jacklyn i have a little problems when doing my winged eyeliner, i cant explain exactly specially because english is my second language! But ill give u an example. When im doing mg eyeliner it cqn NEVER EVER be as fine as this i mean i shape it and everything is perfect but on my lid its like a zigzag!!! Example: u know when u apply eyeliner to an older women? Like 50's or so how there lid is so not tight alot of skin on the lid it makes it so hard because there old? Im 22 and i have that!!! I tried alot of brands of liners and its always ALWAYS the same!!! :((( help!! Plzz

Cut crease is fine for hooded eyes because you're drawing your own crease. Alisonlovesjb did a cut crease tutorial for new years and she has a slightly hooded eye herself!
I have a hooded eyes also, and while that is true, you can make your own-- you don't have very much space and its hard to free draw such a distinct shape that is a crease, at least for me anyway :) but practice makes perfect

Great video as usual Jaclyn. I am in love with this look. Will def recreate it. One thing that I have trouble with lately are false lashes. Every time I remove them I end up with lash glue stuck to my eyelids and on my lashes that is so hard to remove. Any tips on how to apply falsies neatly and how to remove them efficiently? Hey Jaclyn! So my prom is THIS FRIDAY! I'm trying to decide where I want to get my makeup done! I really just want an old Hollywood glam look(just like this video). I'm trying to chose between Mac, Sephora and Ulta. I don't know about Mac only because I don't want to be limited to only Mac products but I do know they have great stuff! Sephora seems promising because they have everything, I just don't know if they have good makeup artist. And ulta just seems like the middle man.
