  • In this adventure, we make our way to Williamson, West Virginia, where we catch 11 TRAINS! Not only are there 11 trains, but we also catch 3 heritage units as well! What luck, am I right? The Kenya and Pocahontas districts see dozens of trains every day and this adventure proves no different. Sit back and enjoy! Thanks for watching! Wish I could go back to the late 40’s and see N&W’s behemoths of steam locomotives moving heavy trains through here

Im really enjoying the videos with drine footage. It's nice to see the trains passing trackside, but drone footage adds a new perspective. I like hearing the scanner talk, too.

Another great production, Micah. Other than the heritage paint schemes on all the class-1 railroad locomotives, one thing I've noticed that I really like is that a large number of them are SD70's. The EMD SD's have always been my favorite since way back when .. the look, the sound .. and apparently they're pretty reliable because there's still a lot of 'em in service. I see quite a few leading a consist of GEVO's, especially on NS manifests.

I wish Virtual Railfan would put up cameras in the Williamson, South Charleston, Huntington or Grafton yards. There's several great places to do it, but it's never done.
    Great video.

I’ve got a video coming in a few weeks that focuses on it, it’s one of CSXs new heritage engines. There are currently 11 but there are a lot more in the process 😁

I believe the purpose was to avoid blinding the crew of the train tied down by the depot just ahead. I actually hadn’t noticed this when we had filmed or edited this one, good eye!

It’s a locomotive that is painted to commemorate a former railroad 🙂
