GND: Below 50kts A/T ON = THR REF. Pushed after 50kts, AT inhibited until 400". Above 80kts = LNAV VNAV disarmed.
After T/O: THR REF, disarm AFDS, TOGA roll mode, above 400" TOGA pitch & roll mode. T/O & CLB derates + ATM removed. FMA ALT may capture, hit TOGA to go back to TOGA pitch mode.
APP: F/D bars displayed, THR mode with GA thrust limit, disarm AFDS, TOGA pitch & roll mode. FMA ALT may capture based on MCP set ALT. Hit TOGA again for TOGA pitch mode and continue climb out.
2nd Push: THR REF TOGA pitch & roll mode.
TOGA switch inhibited after touchdown, TOGA enabled again above 5ft RA.
Typical LOW, actual thrust for normal GA is considerably lower than max GA thrust. Thrust margin for windshear exists, if full thrust is desired, push TOGA a second time. FCTM 5.74
THR = GA THR establish a min climb rate of 2000fpm.
THR REF = GA THR REF at full GA thrust.
Go Around AFDS Modes
Automatic Flight - Approach & Landing
Pushing the APP switch arms the pitch and roll modes after an approach procedure is made in the FMC. Glideslope capture is inhibited until the localizer is captured.
MCP Mode Selection
All modes except G/S and G/P can be deselected by selecting another mode. All modes can be deselected by disengaging the autopilot and turning both flight directors off. After LOC and G/S capture, the LOC and G/S modes can be deactivated by disengaging A/P and turning both F/Ds off, selecting G/A mode, or if above 1500ft radio altimeter by reselecting APP (roll and pitch reverts to default modes).
Others
Speedbrakes are not recommended for airspeed reduction below 800ft.
Do not use FLCH on final approach below 1000ft AFE.
