  • While riding on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail I happened to find these World Trade Center Trident beams on display in Weehawken. I had no idea these where there so I decided to make a quick video on them. I do have to say standing under these massive beams really make you think about what happened on that day and have a very significant meaning to them. Of course we don't know if these came from Tower 1 or Tower 2 but either way they are significant pieces of American History. Please let me know what you think about these. After I left the Trident beams I went back to Exchange Place in Jersey City to take another quick look at One World Trade Center and Tower 4's construction. A lot of progress has been made and it's looking good!
Next update will be between June 25, 2012 and June 30, 2012 ok.

This appears to be taken around 2012 as freedom tower is unfinished, given how bright it is I'd say summer time. I visited NY in Sept 2012 and the waterfront where you are now and those pieces were certainly there then. Thanks for showing.

The Enterprise across the way was sent to the Intrepid Museum where it has remained on display since July 2012. This video would be from the first half of 2012 or earlier.
The WTC pieces remain in place.

I am thankful that someone had the foresight to save these historic monuments and that you were thoughtful enough to record their existence. I remember that it resembled a page out of Dante’s Inferno when I showed up the next day to restore telephone service to Wall Street for Verizon. The transmitter atop one of the towers crashed through the cable vault of the central office next door at 140 West Street destroying many cables. We had to work 16 hour shifts to temporarily hang cables out the windows and run them down the streets. I can still remember what must have been the pungent smell of burning bodies that permeated the area.

I liked them too but they wanted to demolish them a long time ago. They were structurally sound but commercial failures and also not up to code. It was too expensive to remove the asbestos from them so they were both essentially open condemned white elephants.

Thanks Man, I really appriciate your videos. They always give me a first person view on how the towers are being constructed and how they change every time. I check the Earthcam webcams of the progress just about every day, and have been since they started construction. But your videos are just so much more. THANKS! :D

I will always feel sad remembering the twin towers. I always cut out photos and articles about them when they were being constructed as a teenager. I was so fascinated by them and was so thrilled to pieces when they topped out at 110 stories. But this new WTC project is now equally as exciting to me 40 years later. I never would have thought...Hahah!

Remember the film working girl? The intro with Carly Simon and that tugboat approaching the WTC is one of the most mind numbing things to watch back now.

Yeah Tridents were part of the exoskeleton that surrounded the exterior of the building. Doing this they were able to not have interior beams in the building. They call this type of building tube. By doing this they were able to use less steel.

The VAST majority of the metal from the original WTC buildings around 200,000 tons ended up in the international scrap metal market.
i.e was recycled into cars etc

They're far away from the original site to hide them. They want everyone to forget that 911 was a controlled demolition. More than enough people know about it they're just afraid to speak after so many 911 whistleblowers were silenced.

The irony of these tridrnt beams are the Islamic inspiration. Yamasaki. The architect who designed those buildings. Some of his inspiration in his designs came from Islamic architecture. And the World Trade Center beams and exterior facade designed were Islamic inspiration.
