Today is 9/11 I want to thank the firefighters and police who tried everything to save as many lives as possible. They really risked their lives tbh so can u pray for their family members with me.🙏 thank u
The NYPD has said that they can shoot down planes, and as you know all cockpit doors can handle even explosives so another 9/11 is extremely unlikely, and the building is a lot more equipped to handle a plane impact than the original towers.
Bryan James My point of view is, the terrorists wanted to make us afraid. Bush said we would pass the test. To show it to the terrorists, we dedicated that skyscraper for the people who died. I’ve been to the top of it myself, it’s worth it. Of course it’s your choice, but don’t let the terrorists frighten you from going into that beautiful building
Nnot honestly !! Cause that was the problem during 9/11 even though at the time they wasn’t sure what happen they was telling ppl to stay in the office and go back to there cubicles FUCK THAT I’m outta that building the min anything happens
Facts. It blows my mind because the original twin towers world trade center was bombed in 1993 also, it blows my mind we didn't take this as a signal and prepare ourselves for what was next. But then again it wasn't really common for planes to crash into buildings in those times.
As a New Yorker, I'd never even want to step foot in the building, or even be in the vicinity of lower Manhattan. Imagine how haunted that area is over there. You'd be going to work, fearing for your life.
It's weird. A lot of people didn't like the original towers - too blocky, too bauhaus, too aesthetically unimaginative, etc. Now that they're gone, they want them back and hate the new one. Well, I for one think it's a beautiful building. I understand the impulse to re-create the originals as a big "up yours" to the terrorists, but over time, as I started to imagine what that would really evoke, I understand why they didn't do that. You wouldn't be able to look at them and not see them as mere reproductions. People would always see them, and not be able to help remembering what it was like when they came down, and never would they really feel like those are the same buildings, no matter how identical they look. And how would it feel to work there? Especially on floors that were on fire, that people jumped from? "Well, here I am again in this exact reproduction of the offices where six hundred Cantor-Fitzgerald employees were turned into human torches... I wonder how many saw the plane before it hit..." Who needs to be haunted by that every time they look out their office window? It's probably hard enough just going to work on the same site, let alone in a replica. No, this is better. It's taller, stronger, more unique, and the twin tower footprints are reflection pools and a memorial... a place apart from the new building where life goes on. I think they did good.
I think the reason people want to see the same buildings again, is due to how we lost them... I agree, it would be haunting.... But, we would never have to deal with what actually happened..I guess, it's a human thing..
i agree with you, but come on, its 2016, nowadays security in high-rise buildings is far more strict than in 2001, this applies to airplanes, airports, docks, boats, railroad stations, even to f*cking 24/7s !! besides, due to what happened there, if the towers would have been rebuilt, im preety sure they would be a lot tougher and stronger, but without losing that 1970-1990s vibe. i mean they fitted the skyline as any other building

This is the safest building in the world and you shouldn't be afraid to go up in there. The towers fell due to lightweight trusses that had a small amount of expired fire proofing. This building as well as all of the new WTC buildings uses actual steel beams for the floor plates and up to date and renewable fire proofing. This tower also has it's own ventilation system which filters not only air but also smoke. Trust me, this building is super safe not to mention it sits on a 200 foot concrete pedestal that can't be destroyed. The original towers didn't have a concrete core, it was sheet rock and tiny steel beams. Each of the new WTC buildings have 6 foot thick nuclear bunker grade concrete and wide stairwells. Also the problem of storing 10,000-50,000 parachutes and distributing them to mostly untrained and random people is not going to work out too well. imma be honest... i would not be able to stand next to or inside that building without feeling impending doom. i was only 6 when the attacks happened, but i remember things well enough to be scared as hell of it today :/
U gotta see it in person. The scale is unbelievable. A tip of the cap to the construction crews. Top notch work and craftsmanship. Not to mention fearless with heights.
I kinda feel bad for the construction workers who built this. They worked their asses off for 15-16 years and put all their heart and soul into it and people are complaining like spoiled children!!!
+Jusitn Brown It really is, you do literal back breaking work that has the potential to kill you, and you barely make an average of $38,000 per year. *Edit, typo I didn't spot until recently
The new One World Trade Center is very nice, but I wish Twin Towers 2 could've been rebuilt instead I'll admit. But even then, I could also understand why others may not have been too thrilled about that, considering how eerie doing so would've been at the same time. Even if you could have somewhat replaced those buildings, you still obviously couldn't do the same with the poor souls who lost their lives that fateful day though.
Same, I feel like rebuilding the sisters would've been more historically significant, but there's no denial that it would've harder pain than the new towers and holes already do.
I agree, I feel by only building one tower, it shows a sign of defeat. Even if the towers didn't look the same as the original ones it still would've been better with 2.
Yeah but correcting the mistakes on its structure. And have a more secure manner to get out of the towers in an emergency. But remember the original Twin Towers were built in 10 years. I mean if they started rebuilding them in I don't know in 2003 the twin towers will be finished in 2013. But I liked this one and they corrected some of the mistakes in terms of security and structure that the original Twin Towers had. I mean I missed them and of course I would love to see them again more modernized but that would opened a big wound that after 20 years is still out there. I remember that many times people freak out every time a plane is near New York after 9/11. My parents were so lucky they go there when they were on a trip as a boyfriend and girlfriend when they were teenagers.
@@beomify That's interesting but I still missed them. I wished they were there when I was in NY in 2015 that I went there only to see them from outdoors. Well at least I get to see the new one and I was happy. I saw the memorial it was so beautiful and heartbreaking. I'm still traumatized.
I visited the One World Trade Center and I can just feel the intensity and the emotion of the victims from that place. I just can't imagine going to work in the new building with that feeling. Seeing the site where the buildings once stood below, outside my office window. It would just be haunting.
After looking at the floor plan at 1:18, I can tell you that the doors in multiple rooms are unsafe and placed incorrectly. Doors are supposed to swing outward out of rooms, not inwards. This is a fire safety feature which largely helps to prevent jammed doors and unfeasible exits. The diagram in the video shows the directions the doors swing in, and some, if not many of them swing inward, which is a safety hazard. The doors should swing *outward, into the hallway.* But the diagram shows that many of them swing inward, into the rooms. One last thing, the fact that doors should swing outward, is not any new safety feature. In fact, in the late 1800’s in New York City, there were some major factory fires that killed hundreds (which at the time was a very big deal), and the Fire Marshall that investigated stated that the door was locked, and swinged inward which was a safety hazard that entrapped many factory workers. The fact that no one corrected this problem in this building layout, if they even noticed it, in my opinion is pretty ignorant.
I hope they have an emergency plan this time if something were to happen! So that way everyone would be safe and actually evacuate the building faster all at once. Also now that we have like modern technology we could use that to stop a fire in the building and etc.
Roberto Quesada calm down mr butt hurt construction worker, I'm afraid of heights. and if falling off my bike meant certain death then no I'm not gonna ride that shit. safest building? i'll acknowledge that when i see it. fake comments? how is expressing my opinion fake? don't be so quick to call a person an idiot, because when you say dumb shit like that you look like an expert at stupidity
I pasted this from a video where I was really really mad at someone. I just pasted this. I wouldn't work there either. I would VISIT. But your afraid of heights. No no I don't want to go into MyWayVille. Being afraid of heights is a completely different thing. I get your point. Once when I was flying in a plane to Mexico thunder hit my jet and the jet almost crashed. Then I was afraid of flying. Then I just stood up and flew to Chicago and the fear was over.
Roberto Quesada i guess good for you but an honest phobia of flight takes much more than "stand up and fly" to get used to. i've flown for a total of maybe 10 times, 3 of them being 20 hr flights and i never get used to it. i despise airports strongly and forget roller coasters

+ProHunterYT Those towers were designed in the 1960s, before humans went to the moon. They were great, revoluionary towers... 50 years ago. So no thanks.
Security check of people getting inside airports have been made much stricter, and cockpits are also made much safer and its doors are also bulletproof. So this thing won't happen again.

+Ross Walker As much as I agree with your sarcastic remark and think the new design is better, there is something unique about the rectangular design that gives a real sense of height. They looked tall as fuck because they were the same from the ground up, unlike many skyscrapers.
+The Proper Gentleman I would have to disagree. Try to imagine 2 one world trade centers today, or "twin" 1WTC's. It just wouldn't fit the skyline as nice as the old ones did. Just my opinion though.

During the Months leading up to 9/11, there were many vacant floors undergoing “renovations”. The elevators were also going through upgrades which took months to complete, and allowed hundreds of tradesmen, laden with tonnes of parts and equipment, free access into both buildings and in particular, the elevator shafts which provided access to every column. The weekend before 9/11 there was no operational security in the building for the best part of 2 days. This information is not a conspiracy theory, it is easily verified by the Port Authority service records. There was more than enough time & opportunity to completely wire both buildings for a controlled explosion. Wake up America, your Governments have a history of doing this. Use some of your intelligence to seek the truth yourself. May all the victims of 9/11 RIP....

U gotta see it in person. The scale is unbelievable. A tip of the cap to the construction crews. Top notch work and craftsmanship. Not to mention fearless with heights.
I kinda feel bad for the construction workers who built this. They worked their asses off for 15-16 years and put all their heart and soul into it and people are complaining like spoiled children!!!
why feel bad, I'm pretty sure they got PAID I mean PPAAIIDD
+Joshua Willis PROBABLY not the same people working on that for 8.5 years. Rebuilding started in 2006 for the OWTC, not 15-16 years lol.

+Zach Sexton that's sad

They were ugky
@@beomify That's interesting but I still missed them. I wished they were there when I was in NY in 2015 that I went there only to see them from outdoors. Well at least I get to see the new one and I was happy. I saw the memorial it was so beautiful and heartbreaking. I'm still traumatized.
The new building is like the life lesson. "You can strike me down, but I will get back up stronger!"
The theater and viewing area is awesome, it’s 2020. And I got to see it last year.
I visited the One World Trade Center and I can just feel the intensity and the emotion of the victims from that place. I just can't imagine going to work in the new building with that feeling. Seeing the site where the buildings once stood below, outside my office window. It would just be haunting.
When it opens I would probably visit but completely avoid the top floors completely
I still am scared to visit Lower Manhattan - I'm way too emotional. Living in Oregon, though - doubt I ever will.

“Yo Jimmy look that plane looks like it’s coming right at us!”
But nothing can beat the beauty of the twins
Why does this music make me feel calm
I would still work on the higher floors but make sure there is a parachute under every desk
Deuxx 00 Not architect just a safety enforcer, or whatever you wanna call me
Ok mr. architect.
I can say in the UK that's very different. Doors open inwards to the room.
You're talking absolute shite.
@@harveyrailfan3317 An armchair safety advisor? Wow you really can be anyone you want on the internet.
I hope they have an emergency plan this time if something were to happen! So that way everyone would be safe and actually evacuate the building faster all at once. Also now that we have like modern technology we could use that to stop a fire in the building and etc.
U couldnt get me to work in that thing, not unless im getting millions to which i would keep a parachute with me at all times no bullshit

Imagine the anxiety working there as a plane flew above it
During the Months leading up to 9/11, there were many vacant floors undergoing “renovations”.
