Perhaps Kamiya Hiroshi got the role in part because of his past role as Itoshiki Nozomu (糸色望:depressed) sensei? Either way, this series is so star-studded (more coming in later episodes), shame that this is not getting as much traction.
I can't remember which radio show it was now, but I remember listening to Kamiya Hiroshi talking with Ono D. about this character, and Ono D. told him it's almost like Kamiya Hiroshi himself was the model for Uramichi 'cause he also acts/talks like this irl sometimes. 😂😂
I think this guy actually really care for children. Going through adult life, he is somewhat depressed that the children would eventually lose their innocence through adulthood and face similiar social/cultural issues he have to face.
He actually is. If im not mistaken, there's an ep where he went for a drink with kumatani and while drinking, he said that he care for the children and actually happy to see them :)
No it's correctly said. People and adulthood suck and shouldn't be sugarcoated. Don't lie to the kids cause it may help them have a better outlook on life and not end up miserable.
Not gonna lie, a lot of his monologues are actually solid advice from someone that's going through a lot. He does care about the kids, he just also needs therapy desperately
its a gag anime/manga but mans sabotaged himself too much in the past that its crept up its way into his present life. in all seriousness though, uramichi traded emotional support for physical support since mans is, at the very least, functionally healthy lmao
Worst part during this last year of school, I was constantly there being a depressed optimist making nihilistic statements that always would come out as comic relief in class...and that Uramichi does the exact same but is almost 9 years older than me... *Joy of living...*
I wonder if HIkigaya Hachiman (Oregairu) will also be like this if he ever hosts a kids program (minus gymnastics). Oh wait, he mentioned somewhere that he wants to be a bear. Perhaps he can be a bear mascot one way or another?
Nope he will be different , he is more like solitude loving person who doesn't want to interact much with people, unlike Uramichi who has given up on living a happy life as a whole. He doesn't exactly hate company but can't get over how troublesome and tiring being an adult can be
Uramichi: Levi’s voice actor Kumao-kun: Gojo’s voice actor Iketeru: was in Steins Gate, Durarara, Soul Eater, Death Note, Wolf’s Rain, Ouran High School Host Club, Ajin: Demi Human, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Free, Hunter x Hunter, Bungo Stray Dogs and Uta no Prince Sama.
Fun fact: uramichi and Levi from attack on Titan have the same voice actor

And surprisingly, Saiki as welk

Depression jokes aside, thus is legit good life advise from someone whose had rough times. It's just given in the wrong tone, but he can't help it.

@@10RexTheWolf01 I like to see Bible/Christian school do that. The Bible actually has “realities” more dark than what Uramichi’s experiences.
😂
Uramichi actually lost the will to live when the director didn't see his awesome back flips

uramichi is just very relatable, i'm so glad i watched this show 🤧 the dude gives out good life lessons, it's just that......his tone........
Just a ray of sunshine this one is.
now I am wondering if adults who are in kids shows really had a hard life going through adulthood.
Rui Torres from art attack
THEY PROBABLY DID 😭
Steve from blues clues was extremely depressed and the rumor of him being dead really didn't help at all with suicidal thoughts
Never seen a character that is this relatable
he needs some emotional life support
He needs a Fucking terapy and maybe a change of job

Also, there's a game called "The World Ends with You" in which the main cast's arc is to lose their misanthropy.
When they did, I grew disappointed.

It just goes to show that adulting ruins lives. Enjoy your youth while you still can. Also please find a way to make adult life easier.
