Evelyn is right about one thing: Never speak bad on your ex. Your children don't need a tainted image of their father/mother thru YOUR eyes and experiences, no matter WHAT went down! After my 1st separation, I praticed this same thing, the kids were peacefully co-parented, and now we are the best of friends in separate marraiges. It works. Facts 💯❤️

I really like Evelyn on the show, but let’s not act like she doesn’t gaslight sometimes. Most people don’t consider themselves colorist (out loud) but that doesn’t mean that you don’t have those feelings deep down. I don’t think she’s racist, but I’m sure she uses her ethnicity and complexion to her advantage against other women, because that’s definitely a thing. Great interview though Jason.

I’m actually proud of Jason. I never thought I would ever say that. But he broke down colorism perfectly. People perpetuate colorism subconsciously. Some people are afraid to admit that it exist because they would then have to admit that they benefit from it in some form
I was hoping Evelyn would have admitted to it not knowing what she did was considered colorism. Anything sent to a darker skinned black person of looking like a orangutan or monkey, which Evelyn did, is considered unethical and a colorist.

Yes, I was so happy to see that. Some people on different platforms have stated that they could not have ever forgiven Jennifer, or going back to being friends with Evelyn; however, what people don’t understand is we all need grace and mercy. Evelyn and Jennifer had already discussed on a prior season, the situation with what she said or didn’t say about Shanice. And they were back in the space. Things Flared back up when they went to Amsterdam and Malaysia and Shawnee brought it back up. Jennifer continue to stay that she did not say those things. I think the thing she said which again she had already discussed with Evelyn, was being pulled and exaggerated to make it sound worse than what it was. We all say things sometimes when we are hurt and angry. And that is why Jennifer never felt the need to totally admit because she knows what she said and didn’t say. Overall, I am glad that they are mending their 20+ friendship. You could tell that they both truly did miss being in each other’s lives. Life is short. It is nothing wrong with adults, especially women coming together, talking out their differences and moving on. God bless them both.

Great interview! I am not the biggest Evelyn fan. However, she did grow on me more this past season. I can really see the growth in her. I also think Jason did a great job with this interview, and I don’t always agree with Jason, some of his commentary, etc., but again this was a great one. Also, I hate that the relationship between, her son’s siblings mother is now strained. I feel like if they were in a good space, what happened on the show should not have put a strain on the relationship she has with Evelyn, especially if they had already moved on from that. If anything, it should have put a strain on the friendship with Vanessa, because Vanessa is the one who brought it up on national television. Hopefully the mom and Evelyn can get back to a good space.

The Colorism issue with OG is at (35:00). I expected more from Evelyn given that so much time has gone by. What she said back then was colorist. It doesn't make her a horrible person, it makes her a person who has fallen victim to anti-blackness. It doesn't matter that she's from New York or that Jennifer is her best friend. And Jason bringing Mariahs memoir into the conversation to talk about the ways in which mixed people experience prejudice? Thats not what the conversation is about right now and was deflection. And lastly this conversation that people constantly have about how all "Latino" people "come from the same place" (Africa) is not true. Some of us are White. Evelyn is not afro-ANYTHING.

You can’t make somebody feel like they’re a colorist if they don’t feel that they’re a colorist! Ev addressed the topic! She said she doesn’t even think that way. One of Ev’s best friends is as darkskin as OG!
☝🏽The truth of the matter is OG didn’t like her own skin color and how she looked! The comments she would make comparing Western features to her features proved that she had low self esteem issues and didn’t love herself!

I would like for her to SEE that she was being anti-black and change it. 🙏🏽 Much respect to the sharing of this experience. This reminds me of my first receptionist back in 2005. I always said she was "off" so now hearing this I wonder. Hmmm, a witch, perhaps, IDK, but for sure wicked. Smh... Lol. And, once I fired her, which is a story in and of itself, I got the sweetest, most honest and loyal receptionist who is still a confidante today.
