David, im always fascinated by your work. Im in the renovation business and often work on older homes, where i have to custom make piece to match what is originally there and no longer available. Out of all the different things i do, i find this part the most enjoyable. Your level of craftsmanship is really just top level. The fact that you show it all in such detail is a real testament to how much you love the craft and really makes others loke myself look to you as a mentor in this area.
Thank you so much for providing us with these videos. They truly are inspirational and i personally love to see the whole processes you go thru.
I only wish i was closer to see these all in person. So good.

But of course if you don't have on or want to make one that is understandable. I'd just like to know because it seems like a fun project to try out once I get more into woodworking.

What do you think of making a philosopher's desk, that's in at least the theme of either one of the two characters of the upcoming video-game Billie Bust Up:
Aristotle the Axolotl Magician or Barnaby the Party Ghost Owl? In the case of any Billie Bust Up character, why not velvet instead of resin?

I think having to open a different compartment by using part of another obvious (or secret) compartment/drawer gives something extra security/secrecy 😁 like in this wooden puzzle:
