  • Jasilyn Charger, cofounder of the International Indigenous Youth Council, made her mark by rallying youth to support the Water is Life resistance of Standing Rock. This film traces the life of Jasilyn, who overcame an epidemic of mental health and addiction problems afflicting her community on the Cheyenne River Reservation to become a political activist protecting Native Americans. The resistance against the Dakota Access Pipeline, which threatened the region’s economic and environmental well-being got widespread attention and galvanized youth protests around the world. Directed by Lina Plioplyte. A Girlgaze production.

Using kids for your political brownie points and faux moral authority is pretty disgusting
