This mouse looks so much more clean and low profile than the older mouse. I think it's for the better because this mouse is great for productivity and i always wanted my g502 to blend in well with my workspace as well.
For me personally this is the best of all worlds. I like comfortable, ergonomic, heavy mice and it comes with the perk of multiple buttons too.

Question, which dongle is compatible with this mouse? Currently misplaced it and using it wired, but would like to purchase a replacement dongle. I only see a unifying Dongle in Amazon but not sure if this mouse is compatible with it
Thnx for clearing up what the adapter is for lol. I just got it and it seems to be a great mouse. I actually regretted not getting the rgx variant, but when you tell me how fast it runs dry with rgb on im okay I didnt.
What will be better for music production, this mouse or the Logitech MX Master 3?
After heavy 5+ years of usage on my G502 (which still works btw, only scroll wheel sometimes gets stucked) It's time to get a new G502 X. Super excited. You can't go wrong with this mouse.
it looks kinda like they took the 502, and styled it more like the older G9x, which I've wanted them to remake for a decade. My only gripe with the 502x series is how much lighter they are compared to previous gen, my current 502 is 121g with an added 3.6g. I don't want the wireless version, but the wired version is only 89g
Just ordered this and the new mic as it came as a combo on amazon. Should get it tomorrow .Needed a mic but thought upgrading to a wireless mouse would be a good idea plus I luv my g502 hero so it was a no brainer . g502x

Thank you! Best review about this mouse on YT! I still have a question however. When you unplugged the little lightspeed usb thingy then plugged in the mouse to charge.. Does the mouse still work that way while charging? I'm confused, because on Logitech site it says that this mouse doesn't support wired mode.
Thanks, I just tested and it can work with just the cable and no dongle and it appears correctly in the G Hub software.

The led RGB can work for years in this mouse?
Just recently bought regular old g502. Besides type c there's not much I'm missing out and even that I fixed with a tiny adapter

I have old g502 g600 g604 now ordered g502 x plus
Love logitech series but try not to drop it on the ground part quality is really low
I first got the razer Basilisk v3 hyperspeed, wireless ofc.
But had issue with the right side and right click making it a bit small for my grip.
So I tried the g502x lightspeed. Right side was better but left side no, so damn narrow I hit the buttons, m4/5. I really wanted the extra buttons on left click but the closer one was too easy accidentally hitting. The infinity scroll was crap, moving the mouse could make it scroll. Also didn't like that it felt cheaper with the button plastics.
Was white version but w/e. It was a total let down for the price.
The sensor was good tho but that is the only pro for me.
Synapse > ghub. Can't record simple combo like shift + e or whatever and need a macro for it. I mean it was all around at 50 euro value tbh, 93ish is what I paid for mine but the Basilisk was only 60 euro so...
The design idea behind the 502x is nice but the end result for the price doesn't even come close.
To anyone saying synapse issue this and synapse issue that has a problem on their side, I've had some razer item pretty much forever and first razer was the original DeathAdder so I have experience with razer. Headsets tho, would probably never go razer there.
3/10 for g502x lightspeed white version.
Can't make it lighter like the Basilisk that uses battery, aa but with a aaa to aa adapter li on battery you can shave 15grams vs regular alk aa. Less hours per battery but worth it imo.
6,5/10 or 7,5 if taking price in consideration for Basilisk v3 hyperspeed.
About synapse. The only thing it can do bad is if have auto profile switch and tab between programs so it switches profile a lot. But every function is more customizable and better than ghub.
Sure didn't give it longer than a week with the 502 but it was enough to send back and I'll keep the Basilisk until the dream wireless one comes, if it does.

I have this same exact mouse… and I don’t know if it’s just me or… but when I use the dongle (wireless) on fps games.. I notice horrible latency. The delay is so bad, that it’s affecting my gameplay. Surely for such an expensive mouse, it should barely be noticeably right? The only solution for me is using it wired… but that defeats the whole purpose for what I bought it for. Even my Razer Basilisk v3 pro had BETTER sensor while using the dongle and you could barely notice it. Is anybody else having the same problem?
For anyone buying it doesnt come with a rechargable battery for the power play mouse pad. Weird, found out the hard way.

yes I do prefer it, with a lighter and comfortable feel together with the glides underneath feeling much better.
Cons of the new model (from my perspective)
-Not compatible with Logitech Gaming Software, G-Hub Only.
-Cannot save the simplest macro onto the on-board memory, with the G502/G502 Hero, you could make a macro (for example, spamming space or smth), and save it on the on-board memory. Then the macro would work without having the Logitech Gaming Software program open, using up your resources.
With Logitech G-HUB that's not possible. Macros will not work while in on-board memory mode. Only assigned keybinds, no macros. Even if you do have Logitech G-HUB open, there is a slight delay when using macros, because the software has to check the macro first, since the macro isn't saved on the mouse's memory. And G-HUB uses more RAM than Logitech Gaming Software too.
-The side buttons, at least for me, are harder to click and don't feel natural. The side buttons on G502 X models are a bitt pointy, and kinda curve upwards, making it easier to click them with your finger by lifting them. As a trade off, it feels weird to click them from the side instead of clicking from under, and also, because the buttons go outwards more than the ones on the old G502, you loose some of your grip while trying to press them.
-The shape of the new model is slightly more flat, the older G502 was a bit more rounded, making it easier to grip the mouse. The new model, especially if you have longer fingers, kinda forces you to use it in a slightly elevated manner, it's like forcing you to use the claw grip. For spamming clicks that's ok, but I find the older model to be easier to accurately move with.
Another thing regarding the shape, is the deeper groove on the newer model, that your thumb sits on. For my hand, it forces me to bend my thumb inward slightly, giving me even less control.
Overall, the new model is an improvement, the weight, sensor and optic switches are the ones that matter the most. Also the overall design seems more, durable in a way. It's much more filled in, with not as many gaps in between parts as the older G502. But for my hands, when it comes to comfort, it's a slight downgrade. I got used to it eventually, and it's not that bad, the weight difference makes up for it.
But, I will forever hate that I can't save a simple macro on the on-board memory.
Do not buy the new model if you really, really like the shape of the old model, and especially, if you really like the Logitech Gaming Software more than G-HUB, it's not worth it.
You can change the sliding pads to ones that are just as good as the new model, weight won't be much of a problem.
Also, the single LED on the G502 X (Not G502X Plus) is RGB, and can change color depending on the profile and DPI. But you cannot manually set its color, and has no RGB settings in the G-HUB. The LED is there, it has an RGB controller, it can light up in multiple colors, but no, unless you have the wireless version, with the "cool" led strips, the extra 17 grams of weight and double the fucking price, you can't have RGB. While the old G502 has it and it's cheaper than any of the X models.

The biggest problem, and by far the main reason I've avoided Logitech mice recently has been the rapid failure of their mouse buttons. I've had to swap them out, and while it's not difficult, it's a pain, and not something I want to keep having to do with a "premium" mouse.
I would have liked to have seen you do a deeper dive into the pros and cons of the new opto-mechanical switches they've moved to, as mouse click feel is a big factor when choosing a mouse (for those who don't want to replace switches themselves). At least we know the longevity of the buttons will be better with these new switches, but how the feel and respond is something I'm sure many people want to know about.

@@stringslinger91 That's surprising. The Chinese Omron switches Logitech uses are well known for early failure. You can look it up for yourself, it's a widespread issue that's led to the fairly common practice of de-soldering and replacing them. Most folks replace the switches with the Japenese Ormons, or the more recent Kailh 8.0 switches.

I`ve had several Logitech mouses and one keyboard over the last 20 years - never had any failure with any of those. I can`t say how satisfied i am with Logitech as a brand overall.
