I finished the first half of the sweater last night and I'm on the second hexagon now! I had to run out and get another skein of yarn 😂 I love this! And your dreads are lovely, they are making me wanna get them again 😍🥴🤙🏼 Anyways! thanks for the cool tutorial, you're awesome!
Hi! I love this cardigan, it's so beautiful! I'm a crochet lover, I also make some youtube videos but I'm a beginner and I was looking for some cardigan tutorial and this one is so lovely. I'm in love! :) Thank you so much for sharing your lovely work with us! :)
Just started this sweater. So far it is coming along. Can I ask. If I am making this for a 10yr old. Would I still do the 15 rows? Thank you for any input.
Hi Susan, I bought the yarn for that sweater here:cottagecraft1915.com/collections/all I will warn you though it is a very scratchy wool and is best as an outer layer, not for on the skin. I used one skein of each of the chosen color.
Yes, you could do it that way. I'd imagine it may make the spacing slightly wider, but if you want to try that just be consistent for the whole pattern.
Maybe so, but you can just add at the bottom to make it long. Nothing wrong with calling it different when a little change makes it different. 🤷 At least in my mind.
I’m so tempted to pull an all nighter and try and make one for my day out tomorrow 😂
It might take longer than one night 😅
@@crochet.with.illjay you were abolsutely right, its day 3 and its *almost* there but not quite hahaha

Beautiful, how did you get the sizing please?
Add more rounds! Sorry just seeing this now
How do you size this cardigan, also FABULOUS patterns thank you so much
Just do more rounds for bigger sizes, less rounds for smaller sizes.
How do you add more to your sleeves if you feel you want them longer?
You can continues with the granny style stitch working in the round on just the sleeves.
Just started this sweater. So far it is coming along. Can I ask. If I am making this for a 10yr old. Would I still do the 15 rows? Thank you for any input.
Hi, thanks for watching! I would try 12 or 13 rounds for a child.
Thank you for the lovely video. ❤️ Um, how many grams of yarn did it take to complete this btw?
About 800g for this size.
@@crochet.with.illjay thank you so much ☺️
How to make a 3X with pockets ?
Is the chain 3 at the end of the 3rd row handled as the first DC in the set of DC on a flat side, please?
You can count the ch3 as a st or not. I don’t in the video but that is just another way to do it.
I want to make the purple and gray sweater you made. What yarns did you use and how much of each for a ladies large? How hard to add a hood?
Hi Susan, I bought the yarn for that sweater here:cottagecraft1915.com/collections/all
I will warn you though it is a very scratchy wool and is best as an outer layer, not for on the skin. I used one skein of each of the chosen color.
So I will need about 400g yarn ,but im using a little thicker yarn from my stash I am just wondering if it will be enough
Hi Marie, it’s hard to say. You can use a bigger hook and bigger yarn, but I haven’t done the calculations for how much for that.
@@crochet.with.illjay I watched so many videos and got soo confused that I would rather frog myself :DDD
Do we do a slip stitch at the end of each round?
yes
✅👍
Thanks for watching!
Do you know how we could make the sleeves longer?
Hi Samantha, you can stop the pattern at any point and continue the clusters of 3 dc around the sleeve sections.
Can i add a chain in between clusters?
Yes, you could do it that way. I'd imagine it may make the spacing slightly wider, but if you want to try that just be consistent for the whole pattern.
15 rows😅I’m at row 15 and in not even close to done😂. Are you using a thicker yarn?
Well... all types of yarn are ok... thicker one though will give you a quicker result!
Hi there I’m just wondering what size the pattern includes. I was wanting a plus size pattern.
The cardigan can be any size really, just do more rounds until desired size.
How do u make arms longer
Hi Cindy, you can continue with the same stitch around just the sleeves.
Is that 2 or 4 granny squares sewed together?
It’s 2 granny hexagons
i find my hexagon is becoming round as i work, is that normal?
Are you making 6 corners?
@@crochet.with.illjay i am! i seemed to fix that, but there is lots of big gaping holes in my hexagon and it doesn't look quite right
Try counting the stitches on each side to make sure they are all equal.
how do you change the color and make it not show
I used a variegated yarn for this tutorial, so that is one way. The other would be to use a magic knot if manually changing colors.
Please explain the sizing
Just do more rounds for large sizes :)
How to determine your size 🤔
I just sea up one sleeve, and try it on and see how it fits, and go from there.
I dont what im doing wrong my work is flat for the first time ever 😂 help
Do you have 6 corners?
@@crochet.with.illjay yes
Thats a shrug. Cardigans are longer.
Maybe so, but you can just add at the bottom to make it long. Nothing wrong with calling it different when a little change makes it different. 🤷 At least in my mind.
