I don't see how the video is fake at all lmao, sounds wise it sounds like what I've heard from both games. Don't see why you can't compare the newest installment to the game before it either. Its just comparing the new WRC game to the one before it, nothing wrong with that.

Thank you for doing this comparison. The other content creators have continually compared EA wrc with dirt 2.0 and avoided mentioning KT's WRC. Seeing this makes me wonder if they were told not to compare by EA

KT gave up on WRC after a couple of months. They stopped development on it. Hit or miss o the platform if it's even playable. So there's no need to compare it to a broken game

I have both games and dirt rally 1 and 2 too. I find WRC generations as the best of them.
I'll always love generations. I dropped dr2 after 200 hrs to play generations. In my opinion it's the best complete rally game which Richard Burns Rally being the best for the actual physics. Generations was a close second to RBR in terms of handling.

Well said i absolutely agree with you the dirt rally sheep community just cant accept that wrc generations is one of the most realistic rally sims you just need to find the correct forcefeed back settings set the car up and you will be having a blast with me i have one setting for tarmac slightly heavier wheel and then one setting for gravel lighter setting the graphics stage design and especially the handling of the cars is far more realistic than ea wrc 23 which is more an arcade game aimed at the masses of gamers who use controllers !!
Game was trash, lame force feedback, 1st gear acceleration bugged, bad sounds. The only thing good were the graphics and stages design

sounds were nt the best in wrc gen the 1st gear bug or non progresive throttle could be solved by going into throttle sensitivity setting and change it to 4 this solved accelerator issues and released full power of the cars !!

Just been refunded for wrc 23 and I don’t know why they released it in the state it’s in a lot lag and other issues. Now your comparison was very interesting and my vote goes to wrc generation I have played a lot of dirt rally 2.0 but I quite like the generations as a different challenge for me and thank you for the comparison very helpful.

@@DTKCEKDRKIt's in great shape now, most fun I had in a racer since Ralli Sport Challenge back in the day. Super satisfying game and I don't compare much how realistic it is and other nonsense, I just listen to my feelings while playing and I play with a smile on my lips in EA WRC.
Is it more or less sim? I don't know I just know I have a smile on my lips driving these cars on these crazy tracks with badass engine sounds to back it up. That is all that matters to me, it's a videogame after all and the most important aspect of the game is for it to translate into something fun and exciting on your controller and screen. I think they nailed it because it takes quite a game for me to sit 7 hours straight with it without getting bored.
@@TyresDestroyer411well its way more playable than floaty tarmac on dirt. Worst asphalt physics ever. If you compare both WRCG and DR2.0 to RBR NGP, wich is the best rally sim by far, you will see that WRCG is waaay more acurate than Dirt. Cars are heavy in real life you know.
Why is it that codemasters can't make trees that are full of leaves? Every tree is scant and it makes the scene look less realistic. There is no real density to the forests

@@damarfadlan9251 Did you really think that more leaves were going to be patched in? Patches just fix problems and rarely add graphical overhauls.
My biggest gripe with EA WRC is that the stages are just so freakin boring. Look at the Croatia stages from @8:00 on. WRC Gen has imperfect roadways. Debris on the road, cracks, patches, obstacles, varying widths. The stage and road surface have character like it's actually an area that's been lived in and weathered. EA WRC is like all the country's tax dollars went to making every road meticulously perfect. No potholes, no debris, all the lines are perfect, and the road is a perfect 10ft across EVERYWHERE. And every stage in the game is like that. EA WRC sounds better and can look better in certain scenarios but Codemasters just don't have the attention to detail that KT put into their stages. I won't even get into physics because that's all subjective.
And not only the stages, the game itself feels very boring. It may have more cars but when driving, the game is simply not as afunny or addictive as generations. I had the same feeling with DR2 and never played very much because of this.
It looks the maker(kt racing?) of WRC gen has skills for good game graphics with less hardware demanding overall.
Ego Engine was way better, and there's no excuse why they switched to Unreal Engine

You mean more realistic rain? Sometimes I think you guys find things to bitch about just so you can bitch. If you thought that wrcg rain looked better then ea wrc, then you never seen rain before.
It’s cause the rain in WRC is literally a screen filter, meaning it’s only raining on your screen and not actually among the environment.
For me the biggest downgrade from DR2 to EA WRC is the sparse scenery....

I have tried EA WRC at a friend's house and I prefer Generations, WRC 10 and even WRC 9, the speed at which you can drive in both Dirt and EA WRC is absolutely unreal, there is no real weight transfer, the car rotates on a CENTRAL axis, not on the front steering, with a small adjustment in EA WRC as much as in Dirt you stay with the car, something that is absolutely unreal and false, then graphically it is boring, the Kylotonn stages are more fantastic and the sound in EA is laughable.
Leaving aside every other thing you said (they're wrong), this is the first time someone said they prefer Generations' sound to EA. Codies have always nailed the sound and if you think that's worse than the 1 dimensional vaccum cleaners in WRCG you need your ears checked
When you say sound in EA is laughable I can't take you serious. EA WRC absolutely shit on KT WRC when it come to sound. The rest is up for debate but not sound, that is such a no brainer and my absolute biggest problem with all the KT WRC games. They just never took sounddesign serious enough. It is one of the most important aspects of a racer to give it life and immersion. To neglect that is a crime to racing and rally as a whole.

I can't believe I am saying it but in Generations the car looks like it actually has weight and looses grip.
In EA WRC the car behaves like it has F1 levels of downforce and grip.
Let alone the fact that it looks much better too :(

In WRC GENERATIONS the gameplay seems to be better. The cars move way more smoother which adds realism to the physics.
I agree, ea wrc looks not smooth when cornering and to much grip overall. Also with tires of track
Dirt 2.0 was better in graphics, sound and in photo realistic landscapes than the new WRC, even the rain stages with all the mud in between was awesome... For the next video i recommend you to put an inside view of the rain and droplets from a cockpit perspective. The details are a great factor to the experience.
In addition to gameplay, the feeling is great in WRC. It's better in some aspects than WRCG, but the snow in WRCG is better in my opinion.

Thx for the video mate, I was tired of game journalists comparing the new game with dr2, while completely ignoring the rough diamond that is generations, probably due to incompetence. Cant believe it that a lots of wrc fans completely trashed generations for a Jimmy video☠️
WRC Generations all day, every day. Saw a clip of EA Sports WRC where someone was driving a Hyundai more or less flatout 90% of this tarmac stage. That dont happen in reality, ever. Not even a bump! And people call it a rally simulator.
In chase camera Gen car transitioned around bends smoothly, in EA the back end appears to step around a bend
It's because in EA wrc the cars pivot point is in the middle of the car. So the car behaves as if it had rear wheel steering. Not so noticiable on gravel but on tarmac it's obvious. mrelwood games made a full video about it. titled (EA sports wrc 23 (physics) analysis).

In the End KT Racing won over EA. But they probably should have used their old engine instead of Unreal Engine which is not really a engine for racing games

@@dansimrgcompare2780 - He meant Codemasters should've used their old engine used in DR2 instead of switching to UE4, hence why KT's WRC Generations looks better than EA WRC.
However, Codemasters' old engine can't do the 20km+ levels required, hence the switch to UE4, which isn't an ideal engine for racing games.

Для меня Dirt Rally это аркада с неаркадной и нереалистичной физикой, получается «и не рыба и не мясо», играть в это неудобно, потому что управление остаётся аркадным. В таких играх очень важно сочетание контроля (рулевого управления) автомобиля с физикой, я считаю, что разработчики из КТ с этим справились значительно лучше, чем Codemasters.

WRC 9 120 fps mode is still my favourite rally game, Turkey at nigit in stormy westher is really fun.
Dirt 1&2 is Also gr8 games of course.
EA WRC has potential to be great. But i think it need a few patches to fix a few graphical issues and fps/stuttering issues. I play on Xbox

I played dirt rally and dirt rally 2.0 which i enjoyed at the time i then played wrc 9 wrc 10 and kylotons last instalment wrc generations , now after playing Ea wrc 23 game i have been very very disappointed i was expecting it to be as good as wrc generations or even better !! this was supposed to a next gen 4k 60fps on console but its not !! what on earth were codemasters thinking of ?? wrc generations is far more realistic has better graphics and has really good physics you feel the weight transfer of the cars etc where as ea wrc game has poor graphics stuttering issues and is just too arcadey !! i think they have made it to appeal mostly to gamers who use controllers rather than sim racers with wheels pedals and cockpit ?? content creators know that this new ea game isnt as good as wrc generations so i too am pleased that someone has done a comparison people complained about the throttle in wrc gen that it wasnt progressive but all you had to do was go to throttle sensitivity and set it to 4 and it worked perfectley also in wrc gen the car felt connected to the ground and you could almost drive it with the seat of your pants so in my opinion WRC GENERATIONS IS A BETTER GAME !!

You are absolutely right! WRC 23 cars have no momentum, inertia and weight transfer. Its a center pivot point where front wheels turn the same way on any speed. Cars are so grippy and glued to the road. Throwing the car in the corner simply not works. Its so boring and arcady.
The best WRC games till this day are RBR, WRC Generations and WRC Rally Evolved on PS2.

Asphalt braking with controller is a nightmare in new ea wrc. Understeer and lockup everytime

Wrc generations is for me the best rally game to this day (excluding RBR NGP). Dirt Rally 2.0 and 1 handling on tarmac is just ridiculously bad.
Seems like in terms of damage, EA SPORTS WRC & WRC GENERATIONS are still miles behind even WRC 5 RALLY EVOLVED. Even so, EA SPORTS WRC is still well worth the purchase despite also there are minor lags.
Still minor bugs present with 1.3 Patch.
WRC 4 (PS2) and WRC Rally Evolved are 2 masterpiece in the genre.
There was really some fatigue on the KT WRC games, but after the EA WRC was released I really appreciate those games again. I only tried the 5 HR trial since I also liked Dirt 2.0 ... I ended up playing WRC 10 again and might give generations a shot for a few bucks.
Thinking same, i love wrc10, just worried about bugs on generations not being fixed, like missing sounds, throttle issues, missing ffb on ps5 after that mid jan patch..
But if WRC was so much better than the new WRC or DiRT Rally, how do you explain the shitty textures on old cars, massive bugs or glitching in the ground, the bad camera movement in 3rd person, and some old cars having totally no quality to them? I played WRC 10 one time at my friend's house and i decided i'm never doing it again. I drove the Audi Sport Quattro, and in 1st person, the steering wheel rotation was like 180 degrees, and even the damn gauges were not moving. Total horse shit the whole game, the new WRC is actually playable and fun. And that's only a couple problems i mentioned in the old WRC
I really appreciated WRC 9 for the Overreaction with the dynamic weather I loved the Heavy Rain - Storm type feels of WRC9 feels like there is a typhoon of some sort while you are racing.
I actually find the cockpit view shockingly bad
on the new WRC..
Constantly getting dirt and snow effects that clip through the cockpit from the outside aswell as trees and bushes.
Rain straight up looks like oil
snow doesn't even hit your window shield meaning when the wipers are pointless in snowy conditions as u see just fine.
Literally all WRC needed was rain effects from dirt and it somewhat got that but nowhere near as good but it just dropped everything else wrc did right with it's cockpit view
Stuffs important the little details add up.
the fact that the cars are this unresponsive with inputs using controller in WRC generations should speak volumes. Rally cars are extremely responsive in real life, it doesn't take seconds for the car to turn when turning the wheel, how people can still say the physics are realistic despite this is mind boggling, BUT WRC generations does have better stage designs and graphics

There is something off with tree shadows reflections on EA WRC, and overall there are missing reflections on cockpit when passing trough tree shadows.
The details in tracks are better in Generations.
Anyways why dont they just take the RBR and Dirt Rally leave physics alone and just make better graphics? This is all we need
KT is redeemed. The codies fanboys got fed slop with this one. I always said the tarmac was better in that game too, never played Spain or Germany in DR2.0 because of the busted physics but those were my fav rallies in WRCG. Might get it if they drop a Phill Mills DLC

True about clutch, thts y i use the clutch pedal for the handbrake in 10, works great, and is analog, easier to modulate.
The biggest issue with the Codemasters rally games is that your car aren't steering with the front wheels... It's like steering in the centre on the car floor. Generations feel miles better.
KT really suffered from lack of polish in the yearly release cycle of death. The physics are a top notch "accessible but close to sim" take and will be missed in upcoming releases.
I actually tried the 5 hour trial of wrc, something about it i didnt like, cant put my finger on it. Just felt off somehow. Staying with generations.
If only Generations had the same sounds as EA WRC. Honestly, thats the Only thing in that game that is clearly better than Generations
I like both games. The stages in the new WRC are more like generations, and it is not so superfast as dirt 2.0 was.

Well my only question here is : how do you get such bright headlights on EA WRC @3:01 ? Mine do not have such lighting effect and just seem dimmed. The middle ramp just look like the ones on the side.

Seen some with high-end wheel rigs say WRC Generations is difficult, isn't fun enough and doesn't feel right enough for them when it's at least a 80% Sim game. (personally it's very good, would lighten the cars buy about 15% and it would be even better)
Then they have played EA Sports WRC and say they love it when its a much more Arcady and looks worse. EA have gone for the middle ground, but it's not technical enough to carry on playing for my tastes.
Wierd thing about sim racers is most of them have no clue what a real car feels like and say games are unrealistic because they aren't hard enough.
Iracing fanboys defended Iracing terrible tire grip model for years before actual racing drivers played it in 2020 and said how shit it was lol.
So I wouldn't really listen to sim racers with expensive setups on whether something is realistic or not.

@@Luebke2773 Well a properly set up wheel would help determine realism. But most people don't have a 1-1 setup.
The issue with basing realism off a controller is controllers are very muted, and they have to be otherwise small adjustments would be impossible.
That said, if you understand how a car should move in a particular situation, you can watch a video and be able to tell in many cases, if its realistic.
One of the easiest tests in rally games is the AWD 'donut' if you can't sit in one spot rotating basically in place, the game isn't a sim.
Dirt 4 as an example, if you try it in that game, the car understeers out and just slides in a circle.
DR2 had a solid base, with some flaws, one of which is the pivot point on the car when steering is too far forward. so the car yaws instead of turning.

Exactley ea wrc 23 is for the kids who cant and dont know how to drive a rally car ive been sim racing especially rally for 25 yrs and ive driven rally cars wrc 2 thou and i can tell you wrc generations is way above eawrc its far more realistic i set my forcefeed back up as close to a real wrc car then i set the cars up and ive been having a blast the ea game is just an arcade game thats why all seasoned rally sim drivers are complaining how can you ride a bike with no pedals how can you drive with out a wheel ?
i miss the livery dowloads it would be nice to dowload liveries from other people what wrc generations did 😌
I just bought WRC Generations for my PS5. I love the physics, it’s very hard to be fast, which I find realistic. I will skip EA WRC.

codemaster improved graphics of dirt 2.0 later of its launch. i know the game should come much better in qualitty at its launch. but at least they will improve thatbom time. for now lets sumerge in the fun of driving

i am racing on a controller ,sorry to disapoint you ...i am not a PRO ,but still manage to be in a pRO online leagues in WRC gen online ..and beeing quite competitive.
It would be great if we could have the option to do time trials in any weather/season and time of day… dynamic time and weather would also be sick. Kind of like Ride 4 (and probably 5 I only have 4). Start a stage at sunset and end in the early hours of morning. With weather changing throughout. EA WRC is just lacking in some ways that made its release really kinda meh. I’m only now finding stages I’m enjoying playing and give that visual satisfaction as well that DR2.0 did. Still, DR2 is far better in a lot of ways. I would’ve taken an update for that game, adding in the WRC cars, and the stages from WRC rather than this game as a whole.
lighting in EA WRC is appalling... especially considering its "next gen" only and using Unreal Engine. It looks worse than WRC Generations, which is sad because you'd assume a new game will look better than an older one, right?
I just bought WRC Generations on CDKeys for $13. From your video, I like Generations more. The graphics, weather effects, and sounds are much better than WRC 2023. God the sound on WRC 2023 was horrid! I ended up lowering the volume during it's demo because it was so loud and obnoxious. I'm glad I went with Generations instead. I don't care about chase cam as I do cockpit only. I hope my G29 wheel works as well as FFB.
Check the internet for good FFB settings, also run around 450 degrees rotation!
Hi what's your thoughts on the graphics side of wrc generations also does it work well on pad cars etc
@tuffbosslive7598 Graphics are serviceable but not stellar. I'm not sure what you mean by pad cars. I've only played the game once and it was just meh. FFB wasn't great on my G29. It's there but barely. I'll have to revisit the game. Thankfully I only spent $13 for it.

Generations was just WRC10 remastered, plus EA WRC just came out so time for more updates to come. It could have come out more broken on console than it did, it's very fun. Not a masterpiece to be sure but there's time for that if we are patient and EA doesn't screw it up.
I actually re-installed WRC10 and Generations again last night.
I did a one on one comparison on PS5 and WRC looks significantly better. BUT…..not better than DIRT Rally 2.0!!!!!
WRC is apperently next gen only. It looks worse than a previous incarnation on lesser hardware on a previous generation though.
Dirt Rally 2.0 to Dirt Rally was even a large graphical step forward in the same generation. This is a five year development cycle and new, much improved hardware and it looks inferior in many ways.
What bothers me even more is that I find the track layouts uninspiring, barren, boring and generic.
For instance Monte Carlo is almost a.i. generated like it is done with the trackbuilder in Dirt5. The uphill righthand corners keep repeating themselves in exactly the same way. It is like driving the same road for 17 km’s. Trackside details, elevation (like the Turkey track in Kileton’s efforts) etc. are all substantially lesser implemented than in Generations and even Codemasters’ own Dirt Rally 2.0.

EA sports WRC looks faster but the other WRC looks more realistic
EA WRC would be winner if it wasn't tearing, freezing, and dropping frame rate randomly, but on every stage somewhere. Not sure it's going to really work on console. I played WRC Generations endlessly and loved everything except the throttle, I'm playing WRC 10 tonight without any graphics issues and a perfectly working throttle. So far the best thing I can say about WRC 23, is it lowered the price of WRC 10 to $6 in the xbox store. Really hope they patch the issues, otherwise it's a great game.
hi regards the throttle in wrc generations if you go into the throttle sensitivity and move it to either 2 or 4 this then solves the problem and gives you a full progressive throttle and releases full power of the cars try 2 first hope this helps ??
@@tb6539 I actually found turning rescale on on Generations got me the throttle I was looking for. It’s the only WRC game I’ve done that for, but now it drives as I expect. I forget where I have the number set, next time I play I’ll check. Thanks for the feedback!

I played in the generation immediately after the full complete WRC 7 company. In general, the same car in the generations gives worse acceleration and turns much worse.
I liked the team development system and various events in addition to completing special stages. but the fact that I barely passed the test run the 10th time, although I showed good results in wrc 7 on the same car, discouraged me from any desire to somehow develop in this game. I just feel deceived.
but what if EA WRC support VR?
I think codemasters did a good job with wrc. I just cant believe we cant adjust camera settings. While in the F1 games also by codies thats a standard option. P.S. i know there is a FOV slider. I just want an option to lift de cockpit/Helmet camera a bit higher.
You can adjust the cockpit position with numpad keys, just like in DiRT Rally 2.0

Who knew it'd be close between a last gen, small studio game, Vs a next gen huge studio game??? Kyloton must be happy how much EA didn't blow them out of the water. Really not a Next Gen showcase. Dirt 2.0 got close / looked better in places than this EA WRC.
Codemasters used their own engine in Dirt Rally. Now, they are using Unreal Engine 5 which allows them to create 30km stages. I guess having such huge stages means they need to cut back somewhere in terms of visual fidelity. But now that they have experience with the engine, the next game in the series might be more optimised and that's when it may look properly next-gen.
graphically not much of an upgrade but the driving is significantly improved over DR2 and the stages are just on a whole other level.

What's wrong (only audio + visual) in KT's WRC:
- Night: doesn't matter how many lightbars attached, always 2 light cones available in ahead of the car
- rain: looks like total the same as sunny day, but with falling dots
- sound: all sound is crap. (05:00 i guess a french guy was recorded as he played with his mouth on a comb which was covered by toilet paper)
- revving the car: shaking the whole 1500+ Kg body???. total insane bullshit
- 45 degre only for both side steering wheel animation
- incorrect gauges
The only Pro is the color of the asphalt in KT's WRC
Also you can't see in this video: the car in EA WRC can fully fall apart (rear wings, lightbars, doors, wings can be splitted)

Ea wrc is a bad rallygame and everyone who says its good is payed for saying it.
It's actually incredible, I was skeptical at first but I bought it yesterday and played 7 hours straight. I never played the Kylotonn games like that, usually a few games and I am satisfied and bored. This new WRC is so damn addictive, the sound, the feel and the stages it has such a wonderful gameplay loop.
Ride 5 and EA WRC are definitely my top race games and must buy games. I am very happy, performance could be better and graphics yes could also be better but damn when you flying down the drylands of Kenya in 200 kph you don't really see if there is more or less textures than other games
I recommend it but only if you sit on like a 2080 super like myself because I do feel this game need higher settings in the graphics to not look horrible so something to think about. AA for instance need to be cinematic or High. Other settings are more forgiving but no AA really tortured my eyes in this game.

Tbh I like both games a lot. I have wrc 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 and generations, I have dirt 3,4, dirt rally I rally 2.0. I love all these games. But if you ask me which one is my favourite I must say wrc generations is the best for me. Ea wrc would take a 2nd place. I know many people say dirt rally 2.0 is better than ea wrc, but honestly the driving model on ea is just a bit better. I would say it's on pair with generations. I just like generations a bit more.
In Codemasters your car isn't turning by the front wheels but something weird in the middle of the car no matter if Dirt Rally or EA WRC both games are broken.

thats fascinating. generations does look better. so does dirt rally 1 and 2. and they all perform way better too. this new game is rather disappointing.
i had never given wrc generations a chance. i just tried it on gamepad. it looks fkn beautiful, but i cant seem to drive properly. the throttle only seems to work in the top 10% of the input, if i hack it off more than that the throttle completely disengages, so its very hard to modulate speed. its basically on or off. i looked into it and this is apparently normal and by design as its the 'autoclutch' or something for the wrc racing gearbox. but its only supposed to happen in 1st gear. it happens in every gear for me while driving. i tried manual and auto, for some reason it was slightly better in auto, but still there. so i tried some group b cars because they wouldnt have that tech. but they did it too. wtf is going on. its borderline unplayable. the throttle might as well just be an on/ off button.
otherwise the game seems pretty good though. if they fixed that and added vr it would be up there with dirt rally 2.0 and rbr as one of my favourite games. as it is not so much.
i have not tried it with my wheels and pedals, i have a fractured elbow a the moment. perhaps the throttle issue is only on gamepad? i dont know.
@@socks2441 Yeah the throttle input is unfortunately a bug which never got fixed. I think Kylotonn probably put WRC aside when it released to focus on Test Drive Unlimited, but it is a shame. If they had fixed that the game would have been fantastic.

Unreal Engine. Forced TAA. If you noticed, a lot of Unreal Engine games look soft and sludgey. It's a crap game engine, but it's cheap to develop in and that's why so many companies are switching.

This is Codemasters first WRC, generation was the 7th of the other company. Hopefully Codemasters will take public opinion to improve for the next game

EA WRC Championship has better sound and jump physics, I think that's really it...
The Yaris feels way less capable in the new WRC; slow steering, overweight, bad grip in high speed gravel corners and bad grip on low speed tarmac corners.
In Generations or even WRC 10 the Yaris has incredible oversteer, the ability to hoon dirt corners at like 120 MPH and still point the car exactly where you need it.
Trying to drive Finland's or Estonia's fast gravel roads feels like absolute garbage to me in WRC 1 class in the EA Sports WRC Championship. I can barely twist my car into a dirt corner doing 80 MPH...
keep in mind ,wrc before codemasters is arcade game, ea wrc is more sim game
that's because you actually need to use proper technique now to steer the car, I doesn't turn like a toy, but you ll get used to it and once you do it will be way more satisfying. It is a very different philosophy of driving but much more in-depth and rewarding when you nail it.
The graphics are not that much more impressive I will give you that but the driving is far more important.
