C7 Drivetrain & Transmission Mount Insert Install DIY | Eurocode Mount Inserts

- Welcome back to another DIY by Audi C7 Owners! Today we are installing the Drivetrain/Transmission mount inserts by Eurocode Tuning. These inserts fill the empty space inside of your mounts and tighten up things for your car. It results in smoother shifting, less clunky movement throughout the car, and better power delivery to the ground by eliminating excess movement in the drivetrain. This is a really simple install that anyone can do as long as you have the right tools.

@@AudiC7Owners Insane difference! Only did the transmission mount - will follow up on the rear differential sets next month. What difference should I expect that I'm not getting from the transmission insert already?
Just a better power delivery to the wheels. Less sloppyness on launches & smoother shifts
Thanks for this vid. Have you noticed any whining or humming from the rear differential mount inserts? I have a c7.5 A7 TDI and would love to do this mod. Im worried about vibrations tho due to the TDI engine. Thanks for your time.
Wondering this exact same thing. I do not want to add a vibration/hum to my ride.
Nope! You won't notice any vibration or sound at all.
@@AudiC7Owners I plan to upgrade my intercooler this spring. I'll definitely mention this to my shop and see what they think. I've been eyeing this easy modification.
Does this have the effect has installing poly mounts ? I installed poly mounts in my Mk5 gti and had to remove them 3 days later do to the vibration. I only kept the dogbone mount it also had a vibration but every slight. Thanks again for the vids. Lots of ideas for new C7 owners like myself.
Nope. You likely won't notice any additionally nvh from these.
I did this on ramps, I installed the JMH rear differential inserts (pair, passenger and driver side) , it was kind of pain get the alignment to insert the bolt on the passenger side, I had to push down the differential really hard ( good thing I've been working out lately))))))😂in order to put the bolt through..
Since the car was on ramps, there was some downforce between the differential and the chassis making it harder.
I wonder if doing this on jacks stands instead of ramps would do this installation easier..what do you guys think?
I still need to install the other differential (the one with the top and bottom part).7
I’m new to this platform and dealer suggested I replace trans mount because it is leaking… would the mount inserts be sufficient or do I need to replace entire mount? TIA and thank you for all the great vids!
If the mount is leaking then you need to replace it. The inserts only fill the gap in the mount to reduce movement.

None at all! They have been solid. I'm about to install the eurocode sway bars soon as well 👍🏻. Let me know if you need any help when you do your install. I hope this video helps!
Audi C7 Owners International thanks your videos definitely help a lot. Got my rs grill on my self following your video. Save $ 400 they quoted me for the install. Did you have any jerks on your when the car is downshifting from 3 to 2 gear?
Awesome! Glad it helped you. And not that often unless I was really driving spiritedly. The main hard shift would be from 1st upshifting to 2nd. The mount inserts helped with that hard shift a lot.
@@AudiC7Owners I assume your transmission is a 8 speed auto? I'm from Australia and have the DSG in my 3.0 TFSI.
@@trebor1841978 Yep. In North America the only C7's with DSG are the S6's and S7's
I have no idea what I did wrong but after I released the bolt for the bottom differential mount I raised the nose like in your video and after I released the jack the nose of the diff. Stayed up and I couldn't get the bolt back in after the inserts were in. I tired backing out the bolts for the rear upper mount that I put in and nothing so I aborted the mission. Backed it down off the ramps and sqeezed under the car and luckily the bolt lined up again.
Glad you fixed it. But I've never heard of anyone having this problem.

Nope! Not at all. To be fair, I think my motor mounts are starting to wear out because I've had a very small amount of vibration at idle since I bought the car a year and a half ago, but there was no increase in vibration after installing the inserts. Hope this helps.

Audi C7 Owners International just paying a shop to do mine, they said an hour labor so I’m jumping on that deal.
An hour of labor to replace both engine mounts?! That is a hell of a deal if they do it right .

This was installed on a C7 2.0t.

Hello, does the gearbox mounting insert affect normal daily driving? the gearbox doesn't jerk more?
Nope! It actually improves shifting

OK something weird happened, not to my surprise and nothing ever goes easy for me lol. After letting Jack down, the plastic "factory jack mount plastic cup" just fell onto the floor... I can see that it has a clip and kinda snaps back in but for the life of me can't get it to stay on car? Is there a trick? Ever had this happen? Or should I just order a new one? Thanks and great awesome content BTW!
They do come out, but it's never happened to me. If you can't get it to stay on you might have to replace it. Thank you!

any chance to work with a 6 speed manual on a 2.0 TDI A6 C7 2011?
To be honest I'm not entirely sure. Take a look under the car & see if it looks like mine 🤷🏻♂️
It's the rough 3-2 shifts this mod eliminates, right? I don't think the transmission shifts into 1st gear until the car is completely stopped.
My downshifts are pretty rough especially when in sport mode and I've been trying to find a solution for this. How big of a difference would installing just the transmission mount insert make?
It smooths all your shifts out, but if you are having very rough downshifts you may need to e your transmission fluid
@@AudiC7Owners I changed the transmission fluid about 30k miles ago. Would it be time to do it again?
No not yet. I think the inserts would help you out though.
How many miles do you have on your car? If you are higher mileage than it could be your engine mounts.
@@AudiC7Owners I'm at about 110k miles now. My engine mounts do need to be replaced and I already have the replacement mounts. Just waiting for a good time to do it and I can't seem to find a video tutorial on how to do the mounts.
It's something we plan on making a video for, but it will be a bit before we get around to it. But I am willing to bet money that is where your extremely rough shifts are coming from
I accidentally raised the jack too high from the beginning for the rear differential inserts. So when I took out the first screw ( passenger side), the differential jumped up. So I put the insert in and lowered the jack a little so the screw could go back in. I ended up ripping a few threads from the differential mount, the screw is fine. The screw is staying hand tight or snug, probably about 5-10 pound feet. Is this ok? How do I fix?
Ouch man... I dunno... I would consult an Audi Mechanic to see how dire of a need it is to get that fixed.
@@AudiC7Owners I ended up just putting red thread locker hopefully it holds up especially after I upgrade the turbo to get 720 lb-ft on my TDI.
What other mods have you done so far? I wannamod my 2012 a6 as well
Right now I have: Injen Intake, Merc Racing Heat Exchanger, eurocode transmission and differential inserts, rs style front grille, and that's it. But I'm about to install front and rear sway bars & wheel spaces all around. Hoping to get the car tuned very soon and do some custom exhaust work.

I have to replace the transmisión mount before install this mod, do u think it will be hard to do it?
Are you doing the transmission mount replacement? Or are you having a shop do it?

Installing the mount inserts is relatively easy. Replacing the mount itself is a bit more involved but not impossible. You can see how to remove it if you look at our video on changing the ZF transmission fluid.

These are about the same price from the JHM ones.. and a cheaper option from the 034 inserts . Anyone have used the ECS tuning upper inserts than come with the red polyurethane bushings?

I have A6 2.8 Quattro eurocode is only showing 2.0T and 3.0T

No. You have an older model. This channel is dedicated to the C7 generation

Sorry about that. Didn't realize you weren't in the states. To answer your question, that motor is pretty rare to find in these cars and as a result there isn't much aftermarket support for them. Sorry!
Yes it will fit! I have the 2.8 2012 (7-speed DSG) too and basically 99% of the stuff for the 3.0 fit.

They only come with the ZF 8 speed in North America.
Why do you think Audi left the mounts like they did from the factory? (serious question)
The fluid filled mounts? 100% for ride comfort.
Fluid filled mounts provide a superior ride quality vs solid mounts. But that is at the cost of them wearing more quickly.
Audi C7 Owners International I mean the gaps in the trans and differential mounting points. The parts you installed fill in those gaps, correct?
Also for comfort. Having the gap makes it not as rigid so it is smoother as energy is transferred through the car.
Would this work on an S6?
I believe they do, but check their website to verify.
