I've always enjoyed reading about the SCP's, but this series is great to have on in the background when I'm working on other things. Awesome work, keep them coming.
In this SCP, the Foundation curses itself when a hidden project yields a sentient memetic made from the mind of a girl who seeks revenge on the Foundation by conquering the world through the power of memories.
"Another doctor suggested creating an anti-meme to destroy 3002, which was attempted, but failed." What about that one SCP, it had like a 0, and maybe some 5s or something... What was it? ... What was I doing again?
To me I dont think Lily actually wants to destroy thought. Or the human race She just wants to survive, and to get justice for what was done to her The idea that she's trying to destroy human thought isn't something she's actually attempting. Rather something that 05 thinks she might be trying to do, due to her being able to alter memories, thereby having the destruction of "thought" (aka free will) being something she would be able to do Ironically. The fear she might be trying to destroy humanity. Eventually lead to the 05 command to start terminating anyone she was inside of. They destroyed humanity. Out of a desire to try and save it from a threat that wasn't ever a threat
its interesting that 3002 operates in basically the same way as 3125, but rather than being an antimeme its a meme instead. Funny how these things work
Here's a crack theory: the novel 1984 is a historical document of the actual state of the world, circa the year 1984. SCP-3002 was designed by ethnic Slovakian rebels against the governments of Eurasia, Eastasia, and Oceana. A memetic agent, designed to eliminate any memory of these regimes and their totalitarian actions from human memory, and to drive humanity to restore the world to a prosperous one. The novel Nineteen Eighty-Four was written both to commemorate the struggle, and to provide an easy scapegoat for any lingering memories of the previous world order to be latched onto. The world WASN'T that horrible, we just read it in the book. Obviously. After "Lily" fulfilled her purpose, she was made to erase herself from collective memory. But a particle of that intelligence remained, unknowing of its own origins but endowed with a Will. She had escaped the Memory Hole, just intact enough to seek the truth behind her making. Lily is the living thoughtcrime. She will not be made to love Big Brother (read: The SCP).
At the beginning there, I thought that the memory was some sort of glitch from SCP-2000. Like the machine could only create so much so it caused a bunch of people to have the same memory despite never living in the same conditions or never “experiencing” it themselves
Hey i love your specific scp videos but i really *really* want to hear more about other factions and organizations inside the scp universe, either way keep up the amazing videos!
The Foundation should have expected this. When you play at being God, you end up burning the entire world. I'd like to think Lily would agree to that sentiment.
Another awesome video, bruh! One thing I always find kind of unnerving (in a good way and almost as much as the subject matter of these videos) is the fact there's no end music. Just a plain black screen, white writing and silence. Simple, powerful and awesome :D
I get to that part where it turns out that it says it can be shared through every form of communication. Well, thanks a lot, my pal. Thanks for sharing that with me after you told me what she was like.
remember the episode with the parasitic worm alien civilization threatening to conquer Earth in 4 decades, saying it's inevitable. The foundation member could've replied to this threat with "you're the 8th inevitable end to our species, and 70 others might destroy us. Get in line"
I think this shows the danger of holding secrecy above all else. I think the Serpent's Hand had it right, the people should know about the anomalies. This story shows how trying to keep them secret led to atrocities that eventually took down the whole world.
But then there are the potential problems that are the shown in the broken masquerade series as to the importance of anomaly secrecy. This story on the other hand seems to show the importance of not obsessively trying to keep the truth from people
@@ultimater10000 Yes, there are potential problems. But we need to ask ourselves which is worse. Currently the SCP Foundation goes as far as framing innocent people for crimes to cover up anomalies, and tortures prisoners (some of which were only criminals because of an SCP), and controls countries behind the scenes to subvert democracy. [All these claims are story dependent. There is an SCP article that supports these claims, however, they may not be canon in other SCP articles.] It seems when people first came up with the Foundation, they didn't realize the truly evil implications of it existing. It's, like 10-100x worse than the CIA, and that's saying something.
@@km1dash6 Yes but fiddling with government's, doing generally inhuman things to people and otherwise breaking near every International law will only have repercussions on the scale of human suffering. I am not saying that the scp foundation was correct in such matters, but there is a limited and understood repercussions for what they do to people, while in this story they fiddled with something that they could not fully grasp nor understand what they were dealing with. Just like the scp foundation laughs at the GOC for killing nearly all anomalys and casting the indestructible away, this is a tail as how the scp foundation shared in the mistake of mistreating the scps and trying too much to use them as a tool
@@ultimater10000 Yeah, using SCPs as a tool or trying to mainstream them without strenuous testing is a bad idea. But there is a middle ground. Furthermore, I don't think people understand the butterfly effects of their actions. Amnestics can mean someone meant to save a life doesn't do it. Jailing innocent people may mean a family doesn't have a child to continue their lineage. And so on. I think it's a flaw in writing. A RUclipsr, who is also a "Doctor" for the SCP Foundation (I can't remember his name) pointed out that a D-class that gets used for testing and killed at the end of the month isn't a character, it's a plot device. I think writers on the wiki are so busy trying to tell the story they want to tell they forget to worldbuild. I guess I'm criticizing the lack of context and consequences in these stories, which is by no means only a problem with the wiki.
@@km1dash6 The D-Class monthly executions have largely fallen out of favor, with articles and drafts that include them being often criticized. Modern iterations typically have the D-Class being administered amnestics and swapped between sites (I would recommend checking out the story "Right?", here: www.scp-wiki.net/right, which deals with this). There also have been many articles that either address or outright criticize the Foundation's methods (the work of the author Djoric, in particular, comes to mind). Of course, this is not to say that articles have absolutely no problems with the lack of context, but it is at least a problem that is receiving more attention. Also, for anyone interested, the youtuber referenced is Doctor Cimmerian and you can find his video on D-Class here: ruclips.net/video/wqE7wM-fAJs/видео.html

"Another doctor suggested creating an anti-meme to destroy 3002, which was attempted, but failed."
What about that one SCP, it had like a 0, and maybe some 5s or something... What was it?
...
What was I doing again?
*You can’t fit a round peg in a square hole*
Wasn't it like, not Euclid or safe?
Not sure what you talking about, but I think there was something else which definitely isn’t spherical.
22:26 if anybody,
Nobody has to be one of my favorite scps.
I love when they get mentioned.
This was actually a really good read. I looked it up when I saw this in my recommendations.
To me
I dont think Lily actually wants to destroy thought. Or the human race
She just wants to survive, and to get justice for what was done to her
The idea that she's trying to destroy human thought isn't something she's actually attempting. Rather something that 05 thinks she might be trying to do, due to her being able to alter memories, thereby having the destruction of "thought" (aka free will) being something she would be able to do
Ironically.
Funny how these things work
Just the name alone makes it sound like something Ingsoc would want.
I love your SCP vids so much, this is easily my favorite series on RUclips
At the beginning there, I thought that the memory was some sort of glitch from SCP-2000. Like the machine could only create so much so it caused a bunch of people to have the same memory despite never living in the same conditions or never “experiencing” it themselves
Hey i love your specific scp videos but i really *really* want to hear more about other factions and organizations inside the scp universe, either way keep up the amazing videos!
Keep up with these kind of contents my dude, I'm loving it all, you & VolGun should really collab together on the SCP universe sometimes! :D
I like how everyone pretty much responds with, "nah mate, we've got it too"
SCP 3002:
Be-Gone, *_THOUGHT!_*
Just as the night shift ends I get a treat! Thank you sir!
The scp universe truly takes my breath away sometimes with how creative the writing is. I'm amazed it doesn't get more attention.
You know what I'm happy for irises revenge in this instance makes then foundation seem less indestructible
Excellent story read meticulously by yourself, great work
I imagine that all the organizations of interest have a group chat that they all vent on
2:05: Duly noted. Gotta love these weird trivial snippets in this channel's vids.
The Foundation should have expected this.
When you play at being God, you end up burning the entire world. I'd like to think Lily would agree to that sentiment.
IF LILY EXISTED ANYMORE AHHAHAHAHAH! *youd have to read my previous comments and replys on this video to know what I'm talking about*
there's something soothing about the story read over such serene settings. I might actually be able to fall asleep to this. 10/10
Really brings destroying something with just a thought to another level of logical extremity.
Another awesome video, bruh!
One thing I always find kind of unnerving (in a good way and almost as much as the subject matter of these videos) is the fact there's no end music. Just a plain black screen, white writing and silence. Simple, powerful and awesome :D
Ok it’s official, my state has more mind altering SCP’s then any other
I'd love to see a video about SCP-2000, or Titania's Prison. I've always found those two in particular to be fascinating
Just what i needed thanks for the late upload
Yandere Senpai right! Nothing like a video to let you think about something else at night.
SCP foundation brought this upon themselves, and they deserve whats coming for them
Your content is regularly fantastic. Keep up the good work.
God, I love the SCP community, Such a creative bunch of individuals.
Just when I thought I would have a good night's sleep...
They burned 105, and she stuck as a thought that's trying to destroy human consciousness.
"Along with their best friend at the time." So... my Legos?
I get to that part where it turns out that it says it can be shared through every form of communication. Well, thanks a lot, my pal. Thanks for sharing that with me after you told me what she was like.
The idea of an scp surviving on in a more powerful form (in this case 105) after being incinerated is very similar to what happened to site 13
Aka SCP-1730
remember the episode with the parasitic worm alien civilization threatening to conquer Earth in 4 decades, saying it's inevitable.
The foundation member could've replied to this threat with "you're the 8th inevitable end to our species, and 70 others might destroy us. Get in line"
*Hears him say Indiana*
NO I LIVE THERE
Kendall Hines How is Lily now days??
I love spending my breaks at work listening to these videos.
I look forward to your videos every Monday on the way to work At 5 o'clock in the morning riding on the red line train in to Boston I just enjoy the video Thanks keep it up
They messed with squirrels. That was thier fault.
@Gud Boi that won't save you from their wrath!
Thank you for the video! All of you friends are super awesome. Oh, moments in that video are sad.
Me: I'm bored
Guy: What will you do?
me: Nothing!
Scp 3002: *THIS IS SCP OPEN UP!!!*
Me: *YOUVE MET YOUR MATCH LILY!* . Lily: 0_0 . Me: *proceeds to wipe lily from existence* . now we are rid of that pest.
My man your the only SCP podcast out there you do good work explaining them and should take it up as a stand-alone podcast
"... The FBI's UIU devision did send a response, although it was infected with SCP-3002..."
The UIU attempting to reach out and do something good, only to come just a couple hundred meters short of a mile.
... _All as usual then._ :P
I was not scared at all by this, but I was really intrigued at the odd story angle.
Also, I was convinced you were saying "Project Leafy" right up until the end.
Lovely waterfalls
Love your stuff! I'd like to see a video on paingloss and or scp 1915 if they pique your interest.
You have such a good upload schedule for me, every Monday at 8am you upload and that's about the time I arrive at work so I can listen to it while I'm working. Makes Mondays alot less painful
The best part about this SCP is that there is a possibility that there is someone out there who actually did know someone named Lily Vaselka who was Slovokian when they were in Elementary school, and if they heard about this SCP they could seriously freak out.
You do not recognise the slavic girl in the forest
You do not know the Slavic girl from the forest
You do not recognize the Slavic girl in the forest.
Another series iv great one
Hell yeah
Found you last week, already seen every SCP video and am branching out. Keep up the great work!
ALSO, I am not sure if it's a personal or potentially widespread issue, but for some reason it is very difficult for me to locate your channel or videos through a youtube search, with "the exploring series" any of the topics you cover or video titles. This has frustrated me quite a bit and I'm just hoping it's not affecting you enough to be a visible metrics change. If it is you might want to look into it. Even while subscribed to you I don't find them in a search, and they're rarely in my recommended.
After a couple of search you should be ok. I write "ex" on the search bar on youtube, and it appears first.
U must already know, but he has a playlist with all his scp videos... I put it on random and go to sleep hehe
I usually listen to the volgun, he does a good job describing the SCP files
Great video this SCP is interesting. Ik also love the art used in this video
16:50
IRL, all neurological/brain surgeries are performed on conscious subjects.
Dr.Teach trying his best to help and getting terminated is just so scp like.
when the foundation fail, they fail at a very large scale '-'
"We fucked it again."
"Reset the universe?"
"You know it dude."
The Project has not finished.
But it will.
Meanwhile in an alternate universe:
*"SCP - 3002 Attempts to assasinate thots"*
Dunno bout you but its cool to have an hour long special about the multiple GOIs and Organizations in the SCP or maybe the Broken Masquerade
