I still have my plush R2-D2 and his squeaker still works. I loved it as a kid and slept with it for a time. I would have loved the plush Jawa. Didn't even know it existed until this video.
I actually had a birthday with that Empire centerpiece and matching napkins and plates…classmates and I watched the 16mm filmstrip reels of the film’s highlights…Kenner toys for gifts…those were the days!
The Magic 8-Ball Yoda looks pretty cool, cool enough to have sitting on the shelf and that Chewbacca hand puppet looks like it would fit right in with The Muppets.
6:14 - I had the R2-D2! He had a squeaky disc inside him that if you squeezed him he squeeked like a dog toy. He was more like around 10 to 12 inch 'stuffed animal' equivelent than a pillow.
I know. My metal Empire Strikes Back lunchbox got adent when I stood up to a bully and used it to deflect his kick as I charged him and sent him running.
I'm not much into stuffed animals, but I'd have to have that stuffed Chewbacca. Love that guy. That's nuts, I've never seen that Chewbacca puppet! I love that play matt, I'd rather have that hung up on the wall. That's pretty cool. I've seen that cardboard bounty hunter center piece in a Steve sansweet book. :) Thanks for the video
I had the plush chewbacca. It was one of the first toys I had. I also had the Yoda puppet. That Yoda magic 8 ball looks so similar, I wonder if they reused the puppet body for it.
Things I actually had from this video...Star Snoopy coloforms. Loved it. I had that first red playdoh box shown as well. My grandparents hated it cuz it would get stuck in the carpet. They threw it away. I had the birthday centerpiece and party hats. I also had the R2 D2 cake pan, so I had the cake for my birthday too. Funny thing about this party was that it had 3 themes. Star Wars, Superman and Chapulin Colorado. He's a bumbling comedic Mexican super hero. If you ever watch the new movie Bluebeetle, he pops up in that. Yeah so it was Star Wars and Superman mixed up and a Chapulin pinata to bash open for that sweet, sweet candy. I think I got the birthday stuff at a Quips n Quotes store. The rest of the stuff in the video, I had never seen before.
I've had the Yoda 8 Ball and the Boba Fett center piece before, also I had the red plastic empire lunch box and I took stickers I got in the Topps SW trading cards and decorated it with those
Gangsta Chewbacca joined the after life to celebrate Life Day in eternity, Remember ordering SW utility belt but toy was replaced with battery operated Space 1999 hand gun. Consumers Distributing in Canada catalogue stores you filled out an order form by looking up items in the catalogue.
Recently I hav been ordering this pizza from Dominoes: New York style crust, double pepperoni, extra cheese, shredded provolone cheese , mushrooms and spinach. It’s so good, you should try it. I bet yer boy would love it!!
I had the play dough set parents got it and said now can make as many figures as you want. I saw the birthday cake thing at a convention the rest I never seen before
You say we got the Chewbacca Handpuppet up here in Canada but we actually didn't! That thing is rare a hell because only samples were sent out to the stores that were already carrying the other pieces as a preview of what was coming in the next wave but there was no next wave.... so only one made it to each store. I don't even know how the company (Regal) that made them got the license but they were official...the R2 was everywhere, the Chewbacca was not quite the same as the Kenner version, the Jawa is very rare and the Chewbacca hand puppet....insanely rare.
I wonder if not including "The" is a British thing, along the lines of taking someone to hospital, instead of taking them to the hospital, like we, uncivilized Americans say.
i had a rubber yoda puppet that looked like that 8ball toy at 3.19, i dont' know if my parents took out the 8 ball and just gave me the puppet? i dont' know
I had that racetrack and also the plush R2. The racetrack didn't last very long. I don't think i had it for a year. I seem to remember the cars flying off a lot and one seemed to always be faster, Luke probably. The R2 was cool and had a squeaker in its face if you squeezed it. The legs could rotate but also had a bit of velcro to hold them in place. I kept that into adulthood but everntually sold it off.
The Empire Strikes Back birthday centerpiece for alphabet people???? (I know, I know... I was around back then... the rainbow hadn't been co-opted yet).
Ive got a 1977 Plush Jawa with Vinyl cape! It's worth 7 bajillion bucks. Also; there's been a Gangsta Chewbacca sighting with Elvis at a local Burger King !
@@ThatJunkman was n fuel station here that put it in wahat we call a lucky packet (also called that in UK), in US and Canada I think is called a lucky dip, pack wit sweets and toys that you not sure what you gonna get. did your junk dog pet eat gangsta chewbacca, i know my dog when i was younger liked to chew on things, she chewed the ears off my salacious crumb figure
Still trying to figure out how these big cups from the first movie were trademarked 30th century foc, when it was Lucas that had the merchandising rights.

Remember circling that Star Wars racetrack in the Xmas catalog for 2-3 years, & never got it!
Star Snoopy predicted the Biker Scout helmet. In 1977.
I noticed that too. 😮
The Magic 8-Ball Yoda looks pretty cool, cool enough to have sitting on the shelf and that Chewbacca hand puppet looks like it would fit right in with The Muppets.
I remember all of them except the Space Snoopy and the Episode 1 tent.
6:14 - I had the R2-D2! He had a squeaky disc inside him that if you squeezed him he squeeked like a dog toy. He was more like around 10 to 12 inch 'stuffed animal' equivelent than a pillow.
I had the Chewbacca and R2-D2 plush figures. And the Playdough Set or at least one or two of them.
How the hell is a kid supposed to defend itself with a plastic lunch box?
I know. My metal Empire Strikes Back lunchbox got adent when I stood up to a bully and used it to deflect his kick as I charged him and sent him running.
I was 20-ish in 1999. I might have been beat senseless for getting a tent at the time.
I'm not much into stuffed animals, but I'd have to have that stuffed Chewbacca.

I had that droid play doo set. Lotta fun.
Got me with the Chewbacca puppet! Never seen it or even heard about it. Unless it happened to be in another of your videos and I forgot since then.
First time I talked about it I believe. Now I want one for the channel.
That tauntaun already HAD water. :)
we used to ask magic Yoda questions. among our toy store foolishness
I barely remember having that racetrack, thanks for unlocking that memory.

Also have an ugly tongue thing oof my favourite character, Yar Yar Binx. His tongue was once sticky so you can grab things.

That play mat is one of the most 1970’s looking things I’ve ever seen…. Kinda awesome, even if it’s not very Star Warsy

I would have preferred the 1999 stun gun.
Thank you
i remember we got Return of the jedi dixie cups for our bathroom, i liked the picture of jabba the hutt on those little cups

Was the Jawa really only released in Canada? I grew up in Massachusetts and I had it.
Yep
I'm from Mass as well and it seems we got lots of what they were releasing in Canada back in the day. Great times.
I like Snoopy.
No although I did see a Vader neck lace
Totally forgot about that Yoda answer toy. Dang. Haha - Ron
My brother had the Star Snoopy Colorforms! I forgot all about those!
I didn't have the race game but If I did I be speeding "Farm Boy" Luke around the track trying to beat Darth Vader.
Nice video brother! ✌️😎
i think either myself of my friend had that star wars mug

No jokes for the Chewbacca hand puppet? Good Lord, missed opportunity mate...
True
Hey Junkman!
I had that Yoda 😊 It was a perfect scale to the large action figures, It was better than the puppet

Archie Bunker accurately described the English (I know, the Brits are not just the English, but you know...)
i had a rubber yoda puppet that looked like that 8ball toy at 3.19, i dont' know if my parents took out the 8 ball and just gave me the puppet? i dont' know
I remember Burger King had glasses that were Star Wars that you could collect
Imagine how wrinkly Yoda’s sack would be.
This Yoda didn’t know shit. 😅

Darn, can't put a pic on. Have a sort of 8 ball Yoda that's at least sitting on his council chair 😂
I think it was a Taco Bell or some fast food place toy

3 TIE Bombers VS 1 red Ewok

I still have my Yoda magic 8 ball. :)
Merchandising I think is the word you wanted for your title
Nope.
👍

I went to the college too!

UFO took him in the road series video
Still trying to figure out how these big cups from the first movie were trademarked 30th century foc, when it was Lucas that had the merchandising rights.
20th century fox
He never had 100% of the rights. He a had a lot for SW and then sold a lot of his rights back to fox to help finance some of Empire.

old star wars (and movies, tv, and toys) are the best, so why not talk about the best stuff
