I've always felt part of Disney's toy problem was oversaturation of the market. They can't just make one action figure of a character, they need 3 versions in 6 different sizes. Instead of one coloring book, lets make 10 plus 6 painting sets and 6 sticker books. I worked with collectables and saw this same problem when Disney teamed up with Precious Moments. What started with one Cinderella figurine soon became 5 different yet very similar figurines that no one wanted.

They probably never did any market research and just expect kid to like and buys these horrible figure. Like did they not play tested them beforehand to make sure at least 3 out 10 kid want to play with them? Also the figure is unimaginative at best, like as a kid i probably would not want to play with any of these figure since they focus too much on the character race and gender which then limit the market.

Disney isn't directly impacted by unsold toys, since they simply license the characters, names, properties, and franchises to third-party toy manufacturers. The toy manufacturers, in turn, aren't directly affected by unsold toys, since they were all bought by retailers. It's the retailers who eventually mark them as unsold and destroyed for the tax write-off. It isn't until retailers stop buying Disney-branded toys from the manufacturers that the manufacturers will stop licensing the IP from Disney, at which point Disney will finally get the hint that they need to tell better stories.

One thing I’ve noticed with modern Star Wars toys is a lot of them feel cheap and like a big step backwards from where they had been not long before the Disney buyout. I hung on to a decent amount of my childhood Star Wars figures that survived and for the like seven bucks they used to be and the size they look good and are pretty well made. Most have really detailed sculpts, nice paint application, like 14 plus points of articulation, and you had a crazy amount of variety not like less then ten characters copy pasted over and over.
I remember my last bit of actually being into collecting the figures the vintage collection started with all these hyper detailed figures that looked so good. Now it’s all five points of articulation and solid one color unpainted lightsabers. I wouldn’t want that crap as a kid or a collector.

She doesn't look ready for action or above to make some sort of epic reveal she the big bad hero in town. More like she ate to much dinner last night and is lucky to not pass out from overeating.

But there are always rows and rows of toys of characters nobody cares for on sale or destroyed. Disney needs to put their shit together and actually listen to the fans.

Firstly, all three of the Disney mainline movies are in the top twenty of the highest-grossing movies of all time. As we learned from Michael Bay, artistic quality has precious little to do with revenues.
Secondly, Disney does not make merch. For instance, the Black Panther stuff and the vintage Kenner figures are made by Hasbro. Hasbro pays Disney for the rights to use the characters for the merch. Disney makes money regardless of whether they get sold or rot on the shelf.
Star Wars is only a dead franchise in the minds of the internet crowd. The average person doesn't care about lore, "the message", or any of that other crap that people around here think is so important. They just paid Disney a quarter-billion dollars to see the latest live action remake.
